Night.
[center]Image

What is night? Its when the sky turns dark, and stars come out to play, when the ambiance of lights fills the sky with a cheerful glow, its where a group of people, self destrutctive from their pasts, go from club to club, place to place, trying to block out the pain and awful memories of their past, with alcohol and sex, or antisocialism.

OOC HERE PLEASE ITS MANDATORY FOR CHAR SHEET BEFORE YOU BEGIN

A girl walks down an allyway dressed in a black skimpy dress her 6 inch high heels clicking on the pavement her dark black curlsbouncing as she walked. Turning down a corner, the girl stopped staring down the alley, her heart pounded as a flash back happened in her mind.

"hey there pretty girl, watcha doing all alone out here..." the man was creepy, thin but big at the same time and looked old. She was 12 at the time and she looked up at the man terrified. "I..I...I have to go home. Excuse me..." she tried to shove past him, but he grabbed her arm tightly. "Oh? But we were just starting to get to know each other.."

The memory was shoved out of her mind just as fast as it started and she braced herself reaching into her black silk clutch for the pepper spray that she had inside. Walking down the alley way she kept her head up and she was alert and walked as quickly as she could.

With a sigh of relief she walked into the lights of the street lamps and she continued on her way to the most popular club in town. The Stary Night. A hard to get into club, that featured the best DJ's ever heard of, and the best drinks and food.

Her name was Melanie Rozabela DiAnamarco, Mel, or Rose for short depending on how close you were to her.

---------------------

Across Town

"You bitch! How could you cheat on me!" The sound of shattering glass sounded in the night as Alexander Hayden Smith threw a vase at the wall. The sound of the door shutting made his heart wretch. This always happened to him....ALWAYS! Staring at the broken glass on the floor he slowly bent down. It would only take one shard...he glanced at his wrist the numerous scars stared back at him and he sighed, he reached over and grabbed the dark green dustpan that sat under the window, and cleaned up the mess.

Walking to the closet he picked out a pair of dark blue jeans white sneakers and a black wife beater. Pushing his sandy blond skater styled hair out of his eyes he grabbed his keys and headed out the door.

Jumping into his car he took off, he needed to think. He drove off to the local book store, "Escaping Reality" The name had drawn him in. It was a comfortable place, had a cafe and a lounge. It was basically a library that sold books. For Alex it was a great place for him, his own personal heaven.

Parking outside, he locked the door the beep beep confirming the safety of his GPS system. He pushed the glass door open the small rining of the bells above the door sounded and he turned to the desk where a young girl sat reading a book. She looked up. "Oh hey Alex, come to read again?" She smiled and looked back down to her book not bothering to continue the conversation, Alex didnt like to talk much anyways.

Grabbing a book he sat down on a bean bag under a lamp and began to read.

Plot:

People who are heartbroken, or have a terrible past something that makes them unlucky with love, friendship things of that nature, need someone to take care of them.

They are looking for mr/miss right. But who?

Syn found herself waking to giggles and poking on her forehead. she pretended to be sound asleep, hoping to sleep more after being out all night scouting her next hit, till someone jumped on her and she let out a 'ooooph' and a pained groan.
"im up im up" she called in defeat
"I WANT COUNT CHOCULA!!!" one little voice screamed in her ear
"i want coffee" she mumbled but got up and headed to the kitchen to get out 6 bowls and a can of baby food, knowing Selene, the youngest, would soon wake.

Ad stretched and got out of bed, as her schedule only allowed her a quick nap before she had to head out and go to the pet center to volunteer.

Zack's nose was buried in a book, like always. He sat in a bean-bag chair reading R.A.Salvatore books, already on the last in the Freedom Realms series. Sojourn. He enjoyed reading and normally did it at his favorite book-store/library/cafe, Escaping Reality. He sighed as more people came in, mainly teens, to stop at the cafe and hang out, and a weak smile spread across his thin, yet masculine lips as a girl, probably older than the rest, looked at him with a smile. She started to walk towards him, but she was pulled away by her friends, and one boy who seemed even more angry, her boyfriend, presumably. He shook his head and continued reading. He flipped a page, and realized that, after what seemed only thirty minutes of sitting here, he was at the end of the book. He smiled and set it down, opening a book bag and taking out a different book, something his younger brother had recommended, the first book in the Redwall series by Brian Jacques. The idea was slightly childish, but it got a large recomendation by his brother, so he had picked up all of the series, which was a lot, since the series was large. He replaced the empty slot in the book bag with Sojourn. He opened to the first page of Redwall and began reading.

BEEP..BEEP..BEEP The alarm clock next to Mels bed was yelling at her. 9 am, her modeling agency didn't allow her to sleep past 7 so the weekend was a blessing. Stretching she let out a low moan of happiness as her joints relaxed. Throwing off the covers she hopped out of bed her pale skin was showing from under the short white babydoll she wore to bed.

Grabbing a glass of juice she went to her closet her hair still damp from the previous nights shower. Grabbing a short Jean mini skirt and a purple halter top she threw her clothes on and threw her hair into a sexy messy ponytail . Grabbing her keys she headed outside and jumped into her car.

Mel had to pick up a cook book at the book store across town. Opening the door she was greeted by the wonderful smell of hot chocolate, coffee and dounuts. Walking in she looked around she had never been there before, and didnt even know where to look

Zack's head turned yet again as a girl in a jeans mini-skirt and a purple halter top with a sexy ponytail walked in and wandered around. He smiled, and got up, putting his book in the bag and slinging it over his shoulder. He approached her and smiled. As he saw where her gaze was directed, he followed it to a section specializing in cookbooks and recipes. "Looking for a cookbook?" He asked from behind, smiling as he did so. His black book bag with a design of a celtic cross was slightly gothic, he just was religious, and liked the celts, and a celtic cross mixed the two. He was wearing black jeans with a brown belt sown quickly through the waist-loops to keep the slightly-baggy jeans from falling around his ankles, and a black muscle shirt, that was tight around his good-sized muscle bulk. His bllack hair had long, spiky bangs and they fell down around his cheeks. It fell back to a little past his shoulders in spikes, almost like a naturally-perfected mullet. His face seemed fragile, but masculine and strong at the same time, he had piercing, handsome, deep, icy blue eyes. His skin was tanned to a milky-chocolate color, but a smooth, attractive milky-chocolate. His defined chin and high cheek-bones just added to the slightly feminine face, which just portrayed his teddy-bear personality. His eyebrows were thin, yet clearly defined, and they stayed up, and in perfect line, adding to the small amount of feminity in the young mans handsome face.

Mel jumped a slight squeel escaping her lips as the boy scared her. Placing a hand against the bookcase she tried to breath. "don't you know it's rude to scare people like that!!" she looked at the boy tears glimmering in her eyes.

She hated being scared. Everytime was like her memory. Staring at the boy se sighed and tuned towards the cookbooks. "is it that obvious? I just needed a good one..."

He smiled at her reaction, a nervous smile, polite and nervous, yes, but, a friendly one. "That one." He said, pointing awkwardly towards a thick, white cook-book with a roasted turkey and words in German on the front, no english. "Don't be fooled by the cover. It's in all English. By the way...It's called Recipes For The Un-trained." He said, smiling. She obviously was not an experienced chef, which is why he chose this one. "It's pretty good...Although the front doesn't say much...It mainly just talks about the turkey on the front...Makes me wonder how ingenius these Germans really are..." He said, mumbling at the last part. He could easily read the cover, German was one of his many languages. He knew many languages from reading many different things. English, Spanish, German, French, Dutch, Switz, Japanese...Etc...Although, he would never brag about it, or even talk about it unless someone asked him directly. He smiled, picking up the book and handing it to her. His gaze met hers for a moment, before he broke it off and returned to the grey-ish black chair he was sitting in earlier.

Zack smiled as he saw her leave, yet, he felt slightly pained to see her go, as if he was losing something dear to him. He shook off the feeling and flipped to the first page of the book again. He read a few pages, then yawned. "I'll read it tomorrow...Tired..." He whispered. He walked out of the bookstore, waving at the cashier, a female a little younger than him that he knew had a crush on him. He just didn't feel the same way, but didn't want to hurt her by telling her, so kept their friendship as just that. A friendship. He smiled as he walked out, seeing the girl he had just helped with the cook book in the parking lot. He saw her get into her car, and suddenly, his mouth and body took over, like an instinct, and he walked to her car. He stopped at her door and knocked on it, indicating for her to roll down the window. His heart was hammering in his chest, and he didn't know why, but he didn't even want to be here, getting her attention again.

He smiled as she rolled down the window, and his mouth took over. "I was wondering, if you need help cooking whatever you were going to cook." He said, he thought it was a lame thing to say, personally, because he had never been one for pick-up lines, or for making the first move, at all. He smiled again as she spoke again. "An obsession for scaing girls, huh? No, not really." He said, rotating his broad, strong shoulders so the bag would fall into a more comfortable position. He grinned, and put one of his hands on the roof of the car, to lean on it. In his mind, he was going over what he had said, and screaming at himself angrilly. Although, he showed no sign of not liking what he said.

Ramira

There against the wall, she stood. Her body was long and limber, slender from hard times, but rather sturdy looking from sports and jogging. She was a Latina from first glance at her smooth naturally bronze skin and flowing assortment of copper and black hair. Clad in a wife beater, an open beige Ed Hardy hoodie, a pair of dark denim jeans with classic Chuck Taylors, and a fedora, she was quite the sight. From her tilted head, one could only see her painted red lips and lip piercing glistening from beneath it, as she tapped her blue nails against the wall behind her. It was early, but for those involved in the dark business of the streets, it was payday.

A man walked by, so sly and casual, that the transaction was unnoticed. Ramira leaned forward from the wall, the Latina reaching out as if to graze his jacket. He held out his hand, and she took what was in it, and stuffed it into her pocket. Five hundred dollars from her jobs in the past week. She made fair end with this job.

Ramira was a thief, mostly. She was also a card-counter. She gambled, and cheated people out of their money on a daily basis. And when she wasn't cheating them out of their money, she was pick-pocketing it. She was a Queen at deceit, but she had no choice if she wanted to survive. And her life choices had taken her from hard choices and poverty into a life where she can manage the guilt and live with a bit of luxury.

When it was done, she walked away, headed down the street towards a local cafe/bookstore. She pulled out one of the hundreds and felt how crisp and straight it was between her nimble fingers. Ah, payday was always great. A smile befell her red lips and she reached up, tapping her nail on the silver ring on the left side of her lower lip, before sliding the bill back into her pocket.

Inside of "Escaping Reality", she moved with precision around one young woman who was looking around, and headed straight for the cafe counter. She slid the hundred over the counter and spoke with a slightly Spanish accent.

"One Mocha Latte please." She said, as the young woman on the other side took the bill and broke it, fixing the coffee. Ramira took the change and cup, and moved to sit down, crossing her legs and setting the coffee on a table while she lifted up a magazine. When her other hand was free of the coffee, she reached up and moved the fedora off, setting it in her lap as she moved a hand along her hair to brush the copper and black bangs out of her eyes as she parted the magazine open.

Brian

Brian McAllister was a struggling man. At least, this morning he was running on overtime. He quickly ran through the house as his mother opened up the door and stared at him with awe.

"Joey is in the bedroom, sleeping. Please don't wake him, and give him his medicine in an hour, then every six hours after that!" The brawny young man said as he jerked on his black jacket. He shrugged it on a bit more, and pulled the zipper up as his mother grinned and nodded, stepping into his two bedroom apartment.

"How is Joseph?" She said.

"He's great. Gotta' go." Brian said, moving to the door.

"Brian-"

"What?" He blurted, looking back.

"Are you okay?"

"Fine fine, just watch my son and don't spoil him too much, 'kay?"

"Yes yes honey." His mother rolled her eyes, and Brian was out the door. He pulled his keys out of his pocket and moved towards his rather crappy Cutlass sitting in the lot outside. He jumped inside, and reached back, stroking the worn case of his guitar. When he felt it there, he sighed in great relief and then cranked the car up. Brian tapped the gas, and left the lot, and headed out to town, trying to ease his thoughts with a Soundgarden CD...

The place he was headed was one of the large studio buildings in the center of town. He stepped out of his car and went inside quickly, seeing a friend of his inside smiling. Brian grinned, pulling the guitar case off of his back and setting it down on the floor next to a stool on a white back-drop.

"Are you prepared Mr. McAllister?" Another man said as the two reacquainted. Brian turned, and smiled, nodding.

"Yeah yeah... So, how does this go again?" Brian asked with a grin, rubbing the stubble on his chin.

"You play, sing, and I send the recording to the record company to see if they'll like you enough to give you a deal."

Brian grinned, and nodded, pulling out his acoustic and sitting on the stool, focusing on the audio equipment as he readied to strum his fingers against his trusty guitar. If he could only get one deal, he'd be set for life...

He smiled as he got in. "Yeah. Of course I have a name. Zack Fair. Or, Puppy, to some people...Don't ask..." He said, grinning lightly. He shook his head slightly as she stretched. "What about you? Have a name?" He asked, chuckling slightly. He reached into his book bag and pulled out a phone that was playing Breaking The Habit by Linkin Park. "Sorry, hold on..." He said, touching the screen, it stopped playing and a teenage boys voice spoke into. "Coming home soon? I'm hungry, Zack." The boy complained, and Zack grinned lightly again. He spoke into the phone. "No, order pizza or something, you know the money is stashed in my matress. But, know this, if you get more than twenty out, I'll wring your tiny little neck, kid...Now go eat, oh, and, I know you probably have Stace over, enjoy yourself, you know I could care less." He said, smiling. The boy grinned widely and looked at his girlfriend, before answering his older brother. "Sure...Can I get out thir--" He stopped as Zack cut in. "No, and don't touch the wine." said, and pressed the touch screen of the phone again, and put it in his bag. He turned back to Melanie. "So, have a name?" He said, smiling.

"LOVE SELENE IS UP!!!!" the second oldest drake called as he held her gingerly in his arms. Syn smiled at him and his kindness and maturity. He was only 9 and he seemed to be just like her, strong willed and protective.
"ok honey ill take her." Syn sighed and grabbed Selene from Drake
"ill make the other kids lunches" drake said and Syn frowned
"no you got get ready for school young man" syn said not wanting him to miss school
"you didnt come home last night till four int the morning....you need a brake sis" he said with a kind smile.
"no, im fine, if anything ive been slacking" syn said with a bright smile that didnt reach her eyes, though he didnt seem to notice.
'He deserves better than what im giving him.' she thought and felt tears prickle in the corner in her eyes, she was failing them again. she turned and shook her head.
"go get ready guys. Annabelle help your twin Isabelle" syn said knowing she would aslo eventually have to go help. 1 hour and 6 fights later, she had them out the door and on the bus headed to school and a better future. She cradled Selene on her hip and sighed. she needed to get a social life or her siblings would end up recluses like her. 'ill go out tonight before my job....bar hop maybe...." she though with a frown. she shook her head and went back inside.

Ad walked down her street and strait to the pet shop were she worked part time.
"sorry im late! had to pick up a few things, and clean up at the PHC!" she called as she went through the door of the center. a African American guy came out of the back with a bright smile.
"your twenty minutes early every day....im sure you can afford to be a few minutes late every now and then ad" he said with a authentic Jamaican accent.
"yes well i wont make a habit of it boss" she said with a smile as she jumped to work.
