Rapunzel's eyes widened slightly, already thinking twice about acknowledging this man as he looked manically happy to speak to her, and then burst into humming. Perhaps he is a simpleton or an escaped mental patient, she mused, looking him over cautiously before opening her mouth to hesitantly speak. "Well, er, I was wondering if you had any experience with giants?" Rapunzel asked. "For, you see, I've been hired to hunt one, and I'm afraid I don't know very much about them at this point in time." She looked at him inquisitively.

Philip's eyes widened. "What? Which demon has tricked you into attempting to hunt a giant? That is the task for a Prince - like me," he added, flinging his cape back and posing impressively. "I will hunt this giant for you."

"You know, boy, maybe you should give the girl a chance," said Wolf, still hidden in his cloak. "I knew a little girl once who was very tough. Got me into a spot of bother with a woodcutter. You wouldn't by any chance be called Red, would you?" he shot at the newcomer.

"No, no, no, that's all wrong," said Philip. "Hunting giants is the job for a Prince. Where is your giant?" he asked the girl.

Wolf smirked to himself under the shadowed hood of his cloak, wondering what they'd do when they found out that he was the Big Bad Wolf in all their stories.

Rapunzel's eyes flashed angrily at the condescending prince as she opened her mouth to retort. "Excuse me, I may not be a prince or a warrior, but I'm far from helpless," she said. "I took the bounty voluntarily. The money the King is paying is more than enough for me to afford to get far away from this place and everyone in it." She turned towards the cowled figure in the shadows, noticing him for the first time. "My name is Rapunzel," she said, a little harsher than she'd meant to, for she was already tired of dealing with this arrogant prince character. She regarded him curiously for a second, as something felt... off about him, but when she couldn't put her finger on it, she turned back to the prince. "I can take care of myself, thank you very much," she told him coldly. "If you have any advice, I'll be happy to listen to it, but the giant is my mark and I won't have you taking him away from me."

"Indeed?" Philip frowned. "Women in these parts are strange creatures."

"That's called sexism, you know," said Wolf.

"I will come with you then," said Philip, ignoring him. "And impart my advice when it is needed."

Wolf nodded. He thought he might track them for a while. Maybe he could follow them to Red.

A tall, slender crow flew in in strange circles, seemingly tracking the progress of Peter Pan. It's mission was to seek those who might be against the adversary's plan for euphoria, and this boy seemed the most free spirit the bird had ever seen. Not that the bird felt there to be anything wrong with free-spirits, it just seemed that those who held their hopes up were also more likely to cause problems for his Lady Maleficent.

The bird lapped Peter a few more times and flew below the clouds, where he might not be detected. He would have to keep an eye on this one. The boy might lead him to an entire camp full of revolutionaries. Then, he could report back and be rewarded. Maybe he could take the place of the Great Mother atop Lady Maleficent's septer and be her new charished one.

Aurora lifted her head slowly, her eyes wide. She looked around, and immediately saw Prince Philip, talking to another girl about ogres. She finished a small part of the song,"I know you, the gleam in your eye is such a familiar a gleam...." She stared at him intently, wondering if he had heard her.

I raise the blade,

Up for another day.

Flash of light,

My baggage in my head.

Life seems so useless,

Yet life seems so full.

So why does life need feeding,

While Death is starving still?

Cinderella had walked into the pub to see many odd-looking people, a good number of them drunk. "Oh dear," she cried as she walked past a rather scary wolf. Looking around the pub, she noticed how incredibly unsanitary it was.
"Now this just won't do."

Sure, Cinderella wasn't much of a cleaning fan after doing it for so many years, but after that long, it was sort of a reflex that was somewhat uncontrollable.

She walked up to the bar and spoke to the girl behind it, "you don't happen to have something I could clean with, do you? Perhaps a scrub brush and a pale. Or even a mop!" Cinderella was becoming strangely excited, that is until she realized it was past hours and most birds would not be awake and the deer would be with their own families; it'd be quite rude to bother them.

"Oh, nevermind," she sighed and sat on a stool, head on her hand, elbow propped up on the bar counter.

Philip suddenly whipped round, every sense alert. He'd heard the song! He scanned the room madly and then spotted the girl who was singing. Leaping dramatically onto the nearest table, he thrust out his chest and sang:

Yes, I know it's true
that visions are seldom all they seem
But if I know you, I know what you'll do
You'll love me at once
the way you did once upon a dream
!

"You are the beautiful girl I met in the forest!" he shouted at the top of his voice. Such volume was not at all necessary, but he wanted people to take notice of him. Maybe a celebration would go down well.

Wolf sighed at the boy's foolishness and beckoned to the girl he'd been talking to. Rapunzel, wasn't it?

"Here girl, I'll tell you how to kill a giant."

Sarah looked up, seeing a girl sit down beside her who seemed almost as annoyed by this place as she was. The girl was stunningly pretty, although quite shabbily dressed, and judging from the way she was so desperate to clean up, she either had OCD, or was just some kind of a workaholic maid.

Pushing all thoughts of Jareth out of her mind, Sarah tried to start up a little conversation. Not something she was particularly good at, but at least it would distract her from her internal monologue about the Goblin King.
"Hi..uh..are you okay? You seem...stressed?"

Holding his beans before him, Jack sighed. "To tell the truth, I didn't believe you'd fall for it. I was duped as a child and I've had nothing but dreams about large hairy men and golden eggs since. I need to introduce my self better."

Jack took a step back and re-oriented himself. The he put on his most debonair smile and turned back. "I am Jack of All Trades, Master of None. If you need something done I'll do it, it just won't be the most amazing thing you've ever seen."

With that Jack bowed low. He stood and adjusted his gaudily festive clothing, that stood out even for a Fable. He wore a long jacket that was red on the left and blue on the right, the cuffs were in all manner of archaic runes that were meant to ward off witches and giants and candlesticks. His green hat, which was standard uniform for Robin's Merry Men, had a larg yellow feather sticking out of it that seemed to have a life of it's own. His boot were high tops that had been folded down. His dark hair was short, but curly.

Aroura smiled at him and tried not to giggle. It was him! "Glad to see you too!" But then her smile faded. Melificent would be watching out. She quickly looked left to right, and took Phillip's hand, leading him outside. As soon as they were out of the public eye, she wrapped her arms around him and buried her face in his chest.

Philip hugged her back. Then he sprang away from her and looked at her seriously.

"My lady! You did not speak unto me your name!" he cried, trying to sound as impressive as possible. "Please! You must tell it to me now, and then we must head back into yonder pub so I can instruct the lady Rapunzel on the art of slaying giants!"

Sitting by the window, and having the sharp ears that he did, Wolf could hear the boy. He rolled his bright eyes and nodded at Rapunzel again. "You want to learn how to kill a giant?" he asked in his gravelly voice. He thought for a moment. "You probably need a fairy godmother. Know how to get one of those? Let me see. I'm sure I know another way to do it. There's a rhyme, it's Fee Fi Fo Fum or something ... Ah no, that's what the giant says when he's going to eat you. You stay there a moment and I'll remember it."

Aurora looked up at him. "My name is Aurora." She then looked inside the pub and saw the hooded figure speak. "I think he has that under control." Aurora suddenly remembered why she had pulled him out there. "Philip.... There is someone who you should know about.... Maleficent." She tried not to say the name loudly, for if she did, she would pay a price.

Philip was barely listening. He wanted to start singing again, for the dramatic effect, but when she said the name he reacted in his predictable over-the-top way.

"Who is this person of which you speak?" he cried. "Some fiance I must be rid of before we can wed? For we will wed! But tell me of this person ... this ... Maleficent!" he shouted.

Wolf was still thinking of giant solutions for Rapunzel.

"Shh! Shh!!! If she hears you she'll kill you!" Aurora put her hand over his mouth. "She is a witch, and she has hated me ever since I was born! If anything makes me happy, she'll try to take it away!" She looked down. "And I don't want her to take you away Philip." She said sadly.

Cinderella sat upright when addressed by the girl. "Oh, hello," she said, trying to sound cheery in her most usual way.

A smile appeared but just as soon as it came, it disappeared, "oh my, no. I am not alright! Everything's a mess in this world and having this pub so unclean does not help. I wish, ever so much, to clean, but it's not the same without my friends to help me!"

She smiled reminescently and began humming lightly; the song was one which she sang most often, accompanied by birds and mice within what was now her step-mother's home. Cinderella turned back to the bar, completely forgetting that someone was beside her; her eyes had sort of a glaze over them.

Philip nodded. "Do not be afraid, my dearest, for I shall soon rid the world of this evil witch! Come, let us re-enter this charming tavern."

Leading the way in, he took his earlier seat near the cloaked man in the corner. Wolf immediately addressed him.

"You, boy. I can't quite remember the way to kill a giant. What is it again?"

"The only way is to hire a Prince," Philip announced grandly.

"No, no, that's not it..." Wolf looked away, annoyed.

Rapunzel's jaw dropped as she watched the prince burst into song, shout at the top of his lungs, and then leave the tavern, still shouting for some reason. Who IS this guy? she wondered, regretting her choice of tavern patrons immediately and looking around for someone more helpful. Suddenly, the gravelly voice of the figure in the shadows snapped her out of her search. She listened to him speak, all the while looking intently at him, trying to figure out what sort of being he was under his hood. This man is scary, but far more helpful than Prince Pompous, she thought, and turning to face him, she smiled. "I'm afraid being eaten by giants is something I'd prefer to avoid, but any advice you can give me would be wonderful," she said.

Sarah frowned at the girl, puzzled by her need to tidy up. She herself couldn't stand to see anything overly messy, but she didn't see much of a problem with the tavern.
"Why're you so desperate to clean?" she asked softly, her voice barely audible as she pondered out loud. "..and as for not having people to help you, well I do pretty much all the cleaning at home. My stepmother is almost as bad as the ones you hear about in stories.." she had to laugh a little at that thought. It was an exaggeration, of course, but one that up until recently she genuinely believed in.

Wolf thought hard. "I tell you what," he said. "You might be able to trick one onto a beanstalk. I heard that they just can't avoid chasing people down beanstalks. Once you reach the bottom, give it a good whack with an axe. That's the best I can come up with right now. You want to come and sit over here?" he added, glancing at Philip. The boy looked like he wanted to burst into song again and Wolf was sure that that would be pretty unsettling for Rapunzel, not to mention awkward.
