Wilkes moved over to Wolf and took his pulse, held a burning stick over his eyes, tapped his knee, and did everything else he could to assess the man's condition. The conclusion he came to was baffleing: logically, Wolf should have been conscious. Not only that, but he should have been excited or stressed about something.

Enzeru turns to the group, "Pack up, we are moving. Now!" He jumps next to Wolf and places him over his shoulder, he looked to Rhea, Braneth, and all the others. "Move! Trolls are coming." Enzeru stood at the mouth of the cave, his blade drawn, bright eyes piercing the darkness, looking for Jade. Ball of light, now prove your protecting powers!

The orb that followed Jade stopped suddenly. Then without warning shot in the opposite direction. It soon collided with a trolls face, knocking it off it's feet, breaking it's nose. It gave a little ding in triumph, and continued it's distraction, letting Jade get away.

((ooc: it's not actually the trolls that are the danger, it's something that started munching on them :) ))

Jade glanced behind her as her glowing companion took off in the direction of whatever it was she was running from, but didn't stop racing. A glowing ball didn't need protecting, right?
As she launched herself through the various flora and fauna, she pondered as to what could have possibly torn up a camp of trolls. Her mind drifted back to the creature...monster...thing they had fought earlier, but she shook this feeling off. What were the odds of two mismatched mistakes of nature appearing in the same day...to the same group of strangers?

Once she made it back to the camp, she didn't bother hailing anyone. She sprinted right on over to the carriage, jumping to place one foot on a wheel and using this to launch herself back into the driver's seat.
"Everyone in! Move! NOW!" She barked out in her best captain's voice. She clutched at the reigns, ready to be flicked the second the last person was in.

Wilkes had tolerated enough Troll foolishness for one day, but he could not leave his patient (and facinating study subject) Wolf behind. He grapped the comatose man by the armpits and laboriously dragged him to the carriage. With a heave that shook the base of his frail Elven body, Wilkes hauled the man on board.

Where otherwise she would have gone her own way, today Rhea did not hesitate to follow Jade's order. There was something evil in the air, far more foul than the trolls, and she knew enough to get to safety before something lamentable happened. Forsaking the quest for food, Rhea jumped into the wagon, arrow in her bow.

Rhea noticed Wilkes' troubles, and quickly grabbed Wolf's upper body and tugged, pulling him farther atop the carriage than Wilkes had first managed. Wolf was no light-weight, and the fact that Wilkes had thrown him into the cart by himself was quite impressive for a man of his stature. She offered her hand to Wilkes, "Goin' up, my good man?"

((ooc: lol, yeah, sorry, Ketsu. I think everyone kind of missed that.))

With everyone as on board as they were going to be in such a short notice, Jade flicked the reigns and snapped out at the horses to move, and to do so with a greater efficiency than any of their ancestors had done. These, of course, were not her exact words, but the meaning seemed to get across well enough, as the carriage lurched off with great speed.
As they shot off into the dark, Jade felt a slight annoyance as her hood was tugged away from her face once more. But no time to be concerned with trifles.
Glancing over her shoulder to check for whatever it was they were running from, she felt an odd sort of squeeze in her stomach area: the trees disappearing behind them were beginning to sway and tremble. Whatever it was, it was following them.
Muttering in what may have been any number of languages, she gave the reigns another strong crack.

Jade coughed a bit, glancing over at the flying man.
"Well...methinks it's...ah...similar to somethin' we encountered earlier..big, ornery, and not somethin' nature intended on makin'.."
She cracked the whips once more, bracing herself as they hit a sharp bump. "You could settle yerself on the back, if y'get tired of flyin', Feathers."
It was a friendly invitation, particularly considering the gaining sound of crashing wood.

As they bumped and shook their way across the cold, hard ground, Braneth raised his bow and tried to sight down it back towards whatever was coming after them. It was too difficult at the pace they were going, and with the turbulence they were having. He wasn't the most accomplished with a bow. Cursing under his breath, he lowered the bow to his side as he steadied himself with a hand on the side of the carriage. Enzeru sped alongside, questioning Jade. Turning to her, he noticed her hood had fallen down, although he couldn't make out anything but her red hair as he was behind her slightly, she at the front holding the reins. He raised his voice to be on the edge of shouting, so that it would carry over the sound of the horses and their movement.

"Can we outrun it before the horses tire?"

His head swivelled back to the rear of the carriage, at the approaching threat.

Wolf awoke to the sound of several people talking and a rattling. He slowly sat up before a large pain in his head caused him to lie back down. Several of the travelers looked over at him. One spoke: "You okay there?"

"Yeah. What's wrong?"

"Well, look for yourself."

Wolf looked puzzled, then pushed himself up, his muscles were weak and his head was pounding. He noticed a large creature moving towards them, possibly a troll. Wolf then got on his knees, placing a hand on the side of the kart for balance. He took one look back, checked for his weapons, then leaped off. He crashed to the Earth, his legs failed and a pain entered him. A voice spoke: "You fool, get up."

Wolf jumped up, unsheathing his Katana and settling into a battle stance, the Dark Wolf's power giving him energy. The Troll-like creature hit the brakes a hundred yards from his position. It cocked its head, looking at him curiously, before giving a deafening roar and charging at him.

"Come on, come and get me." Wolf said calmly.

Jade blinked in surprise as she felt the cart jolt, then settle once more. Twisting to look behind herself, she saw Wolf, who had apparently awakened, quickly vanishing in the distance.
For a moment she closed her eyes, heaving an aggravated sigh. "Great bleedin' turnips, Wilkes, I told you to watch him!"
She reached over, placing the reigns into the hands of the passenger seated next to her in the driver's seat, then snapped out, "Keep going, don't slow down, don't come back! We'll catch up!"
With this, she leaped off of the carriage, rolling to a stop on the ground. Satisfied that she had not sprained or broken anything in the landing, she stood and took off towards Wolf and the thing that looked ready to eat him.
The first monster had been a repulsive creature of trollish nature. This one was simply ugly.
It looked as though a particularly disgusting tree had suddenly come to life, with limbs of rotting would, and what may have been a mouth was gnashing about, bits of troll remains stuck in what appeared to be jagged teeth. Where leaves should have been, greasy bits of black hair clung to the 'wood,' and bright red eyes stared around with violent interest.
Skidding to a stop next to Wolf, Jade drew her swords, clearing her throat. "Nice to see you up and walkin', mate. Could've chosen a better time for it, though."

"Wait, what the hell?"

Rhea was busy trying to steady herself on the careening carriage, just so that she could stand up long enough to aim. But it wasn't working. While this was not the best of roads to be speeding on, Jade's distracted driving was doing her no favors.

But her head snapped up at the sound of Jade foresaking the carriage. Just like that. No one to hold onto the reings, either. She realized this fact with a heavy feeling in her stomach, and quickly grappled for the abandonded steering utensils. She sat down on the driver's seat with a hard thud, and began to direct the carriage, which had given a violent jerk at Jade's exit.

"This day is just full of interesting twists..."

Enzeru lifted as Jade went tumbling under him as she abandoned the cart. "Damn, what is goes through her mind to do such things?" He restrained himself from flying after her. "She said to stay, but not this to stay." He snaps his finger and the little ball of light returned, "Go." Enzeru whispered, and with that it went zooming after Jade.

Rhea tried to keep the horses running straight, but it was not easy. It was hard to see the road in the darkness, but Rhea was squinting as best she could to not send the carriage careening out of control.

"I don't think she was thinking," Rhea yelled to Enzeru. "What the hell do you suppose she's doing?" She had to raise her voice over the sound of the cart, and she cracked the reigns again. She was mentally apologizing to the horses for bearing down so hard on them, but this was the only way to assure safety.

The road that stretched out in front of them was anything but promising, and Rhea was not sure which was she should point the horses in. If memory served her right, there was a town still some miles away where they could possibly seek refuge. But it was not too close to where they actually were. She cracked the whips again.

"There's a town not too far from here," she called. "I seriously think it's our best bet for safety at the moment!"

Wolf glanced over at Jade.

"You shouldn't have come, I did this for a reason, I die and help you people reach safety from this filthy beast."

"Well, you helped us, just thought I'd return the favor."
Jade replied.

"Fine, I have no choice."

"Dark Wolf, teleport this woman back onto the cart." He said to the Wolf.

"That will be easy." Dark Wolf replied.

In the next instant, a flash of dark blue and black shot beside him, and she was gone.

"Good, this should be fun.

Wolf then charged, a evil smile crossing his face. The rotting tree-thing started at him, moving at an amazing speed. Wolf suddenly was swung backward, a hard branch crashing into his ribcage, shattering it.

"Damn! I didn't know it was this powerful. Stupid Treant."

Wolf got on his knees and proceeded to put his palm out, a ball of black swirling in his hands. He then extended his fingers, watching the ball go flying at the Treant. It crashed into it, knocking it down. It emitted a roar as it used its roots to pull itself back up, showing the giant hole in the center of it. Wolf sighed, seeing as though he was out of breath with a broken ribcage. He watched as it started towards him slowly, apparently delighting in it realizing it can kill him without worry.

Wolf moved his hand back to his right thigh, pulling out the knife strapped to it. He looked up smiling, then flipped his hand back then forward, watching the knife fly at lightning speed. It embedded itself into what looked like the tree's face, causing it to scream in pain. It wrenched, trying to knock the blade out, eventually tripping up and hitting the dirt. After a few more seconds of flailing, it stopped.

Wolf smiled, knowing at least he killed the sorry freak. He looked up, seeing the clouds above blocking out the sun. He then attempted to stand up, failed, then laid down on the trail, not caring if he died or not.

What a pleasant day.

((ooc: Feleon, please try not to make decisions for other people's characters. I'll roll with it, but please try not to do so in the future))

Jade suddenly found herself in a place she had never yet been: the passenger's area of the carriage, tangled up with Wilkes as she struggled to right herself. She was familiar, however, with the steady flow of curses slipping from her mouth with a great passion. Finally disentangling herself from the poor elf, she tumbled to the floor, smacking her head on the wood that was no where near as comfy as the padded seats. A bit more swearing, and she shoved herself to her feet, past the other occupants, and to the window.
"Rhea!!" She shouted, sticking her head out, "Rhea, turn this blasted bucket around, we've gotta get that fool back there!"
She might have offered an explanation as to how she had gone from preparing to battle to being stuffed into the carriage...but truly, she had no idea herself.

Enzeru frowned as Jade appeared. "Well, that was eventful." He raised a hand shooting a beam of light down the road lighting the way. "How far is the town?" He addressed Rhea.

"We ain't goin' to town, we're goin' back!" Jade snapped out. Clearly, she was unused to being sent long distances without her permission. And she did not like it one bit. She turned to Yuu, Angel and Sensha, who had remained silent to this point. "You lot feel like diggin' through more beastie guts?"
