As they continued on towards the stairs, the air seemed to develop a sort of electricity to it...as though many points of interest were drawing close and closer with each step. On the way in, they passed a rather healthy looking troll...another jolt of familiarity passed, but Jade did her best to ignore it for the time being.

Ketsueki Tenshu wrote:Mar looked at Gwen as she flinch slightly, stopping mid sentance. He let out a short, low hiss, showing his unusually long fangs. His vampirism was kicking at the thought of an exposed neck. Looking the other way, his red eyes kept thier gaze steady, looking distant. Mar kept his distance from her, his arms still folded like a subborn wall. "What ails you human?" His eyes looking slightly at Gwen, a dark feeling of power coming from his form, his presence consuming the room, his vampiric power of influence was flooding the space.

"Whatever it is that ails her, I would advise you to refer to her by name." The clipped reprimand sounded from the door. There stood Jade, cloaked and hidden, and the peaceful warrior that she was so pleased to have stumble across earlier. "My friend's name is not 'human.' Unless, of course, you've no issues with being referred to as 'large dark creature with keen nose,' I would suggest that you call her 'Gwen.'"
With this, she entered the room, leaning against the rickety table that the inn had provided.
"Well, mates, here we are. Gwen," She gestured to the youngest one, "...Marion," She flicked her fingers at the thirsty Dragoon, "...Sir Lars," She nodded to the Myrmidon. There was a pause as she took in the wrapped up creature that still had yet to truly speak. She moved on.
"And meself, the illustrious Jade." The wry voice suggested a hinted smirk. "Why we've all come to be here...well, in a rare moment of honestly, I'll say I've no clue. There's something fateful about us, I suppose." She chuckled, allowing her eyes to drift over each of them in turn.

Gwen resisted rubbing her sore shoulder blades. As Jade introduced everyone a feeling of familiarism washed over her.
Gwen felt an itch on her back and proceeded to scratch, only to get her finger poked by something underneath her shirt. She slipped her hand down the back of her shirt and felt around for the object that poked her. Finally she found the poker and brought it out to look at it.
In her hand was a small, delicate, blue feather.
Drat.
She stuck the feather in her pants pocket and continued to listen to Jade.

Lars stood in the doorway. He watched the troll a second before entering the room. Something about the troll made him seem familial to Lars. But that would be impossible, as most trolls had been on the opposite end of his spear and sword.

As he entered the small room, which now seemed more crowded as he, in his armor seemed to compress everyone into a tighter space. His gray-blue eyes fell upon the girl Gwen, he smiled and bowed to her slightly.
"Myra's blessing to you again Lady Gwen." he said softly, hoping to not interrupt Jade, whom was speaking.

His eyes wandered to the others, the same silent figure who was at the table downstairs, then to the large hulking darkness that had been eying Gwen. Lars frowned a bit as he examined the creature. It seemed to have an aura, a taint about it. Clearly Myra had gathered a motley fellow for what ever path they were to walk.

Lars nodded to both in turn and said softly to each, hopng to gather their eye as a sign of respect "Myra's eternal peace and blessings to you both." Again he bowed slightly and then turned his attention to Jade and listened to her.

The sun shone down across the dark green tree each one reaching up towards the sun, keeping the world beneath, secluded from the peaceful sky above. In this forest lived all manner of creatures from elf's to pixies, fairies to gnomes all together beneath the trees.

But there was one place that none who knew the area dare tread, the darkest part of the forest were the trees close around you were there is only silence and that feeling of death, as that is all you will find upon entering this dark place. Between the trees deep within stands a cave its entrance covered with dark runes and picture depicting death and war, of times long past.

From within this darkness stepped a figure shrouded in the darkness of the forest just its red eyes piecing the darkness, as it moved towards the center of the clearing outside the cave, wings unfolding from his back a faint sign of a sheathed sword visible from behind the figures head. Still moving the figure beat its strong wings and sored up into the canopy above, bursting through into the bright sky above, entering a spin its wings covering its body and face.

With the sun at its back it unfurled its wings keeping its self in flight letting the warm sun wash over it's dark purple green scales, all scared and battered. As this creature was a Dragoon a proud creature, skilled in battle and protective of its territory, created by the god Zaeken. This Dragoon was Strom Naga Glaurung, but now he was Tien-Lung back from seclusion to complete his destiny.

With stroke of his wings he headed towards the town of Klastor.
Police cordoned off Liverpool City Centre this morning when a
suspicious object was discovered in a car. It later turned
out to be a tax disc.

Gwen smiled at Lars. "May Myra's blessings be upon you as well, Sir Knight." She returned his bow and turned back facing the others. Her eyes, once again, fell upon Marion. He sat with his arms folded across his chest. Curiosity struck Gwen once more as she thought about what kind of past he carried with him.
She leaned against the counter and continued to listen to Jade. Renmith, who was still on the counter, trotted over to her and licked her hand where he had bitten it.
Is the seal holding? he asked.

Yes.

Good. You'll last for a few more days. Then you're going to have to change.

I know. I just wish the process were less.....painful.

"Such a fine group...yes, you'll do nicely." The voice came seemingly from nowhere...everywhere...anywhere. And then, from the middle of the room...it didn't appear. It simply was. A light, a soft sphere of azhure purple, hovering in the midst of the odd collection of travelers as though it had been there all along. "We are so glad you could make it. Though you seem to be a bit short...well, I suppose you'll just have to gather the others before you leave."
Jade had jumped, and now had herself flattened against the wall. In her vast experience with such things, being too close to ethereal objects could be damaging to one's being.
"Calm yourself, child. I'm simply here to inform you all of a most wondrous honor that has been bestowed upon you." The orb shivered slightly...as though in an expression of some strange, indecipherable emotion. "You have each been chosen by the Siblings themselves to serve. Congradulations!"
Jade slowly shook her head, rubbing her hidden jaw.
"You doubt me, child? Now, now...." The orb began to zoom around the room, pausing in front of each individual and jingling merrily. "You, Son of Grim...you have been selected by Myra herself! And you, child of the feather, Relna favors you as her champion!" And the orb continued on, telling each of those who listened who, exactly, had willed them to be where they were. It paused in front of Jade, jingling for a moment, then added, "Zaeken has requested you, child."
The orb paused, returning to the room. "Of course, you have every right to deny the call and move on with your lives. Your task is not to be a simple one."
Jade simply stared. "What task?"

Wilkes had tried not to think about the fact that he had perfectly fit the description of "a homeless, filthy, penniless immigrant bum," and set out to rectify that problem. He left the city and walked out to a nearby pond. He washed his clothes and himself there, leaving his now-unnecesary apron behind.

Now, redressed in his dry, green robes, leaned on the inside of the city wall. He'd never slept on the street before. Fortunately, it was not cold out and there was no sign of rain.

Gwen could not speak.
Relna, the Goddess of Life, had chosen her, her, as a personal champion. Everything was coming together now. The odd coincidences. The feelings of familiarity. They were all chosen by the Gods, by Fate, to meet on this day.
Child of the feather... Gwen hoped no one realized what such a title meant.
She continued to listen to the glowing orb.

"Good" He thought to himself as he walked the halls. Da people here don't know who I am. Dis be a good area....

"Jungle Mojo for dis tirsty Troll, Mon!" He beckoned at the barkeeper. "uh-uhh...Sorry sir, but, we have no Jungle Mojo here. We don't serve it" The Barkeeper stammered with a smile. "Bah! Wut udah drinks you got den?" Zul'saka said as he took a stool to sit on.

"Well, just have a look around sir..."

"Bah! I don't drink dat kind of filth you got dere wit you, Mon!" He spat. Zul'saka simply ordered a glass of water and sat idly.

Hey, ain't that Zul'saka?
Yeah.....it is! He's got a helluva lot of bounty.....One of themost wanted......in Sillia

Zul'saka could've barely heard the conversation two men had in the dark corner, but he knew well enough they knew exactly who he was. He was going to have to take care of them quick.

Start a bar fight, kill them in the ensuing chaos and walk out...ugh dang, I wished I didn't take my disguise off.

As he finished his mug of water he reached into his linen pouch, pulled out his old, worn, battle mask. He put the mask on and threw the mug at one of the talking men. When the mug shattered Most of the men in the bar drew out there weapons, readying themselves for the potential bar-fight.

"You, Son of Grim...you have been selected by Myra herself!" said the light as it bobbed and jingled in front of Lars before flying to Gwen.

Lars stood and marveled at the azure violet light as it zoomed around the room.Dropping to his Lars began to pray to Myra, his Goddess.
"Goddess I am but a humble knight, not worthy of this honor, but you have chosen me. I accept and shall ride as your champion in this quest before this fellow. I shall honor the tenets and laws of the Myrmidon. O' Goddess I shall be your shining spear, your steadfast bulwark, the steel of your voice, the gentle caress of your touch. I am yours to command, and in this I shall do as you bid. Guide me always in the ways of your teachings."

Lars stood and stared at each of his companions, his gray-blue eyes peering at each of them. His voice wavered slightly as he spoke "I pledge my life and sword to each of you in the name of Myra."

The impact of the last few seconds suddenly hit him, the siblings had chosen champions, and he was the chosen of Myra. He felt a tugging in his chest as his thoughts flickered briefly to his family. To his father and brothers, as wistful smile crossed his lips as he thought silently "I am equal to you."

As Lars stood among his comrades, his mind racing at the implications, he thought he heard a crash and yell from below. The night had brought on many, many unexpected occurrences, it had also reaffirmed his faith as a Myrmidon. He excused himself to see what was going on in the common rooms. This tavern had a follower of Myra in it, a Myrmidon, by Myranic Law he was to offer protection to all in this tavern. None of the commoners were skilled warriors, they may have weapons, but a weapon was no measure of skill.

His eyes locked on Jade's concealed face, he bowed to her then to Gwen. "I cannot avoid my duties, now that my presence has been revealed." Wheeling about he placed his arming cap, bascinet and great helm on. Hefting his shield he started down the steps. His boots thudding heavily on the steps, each step designed to impart the stomp and drag used in combat when the Myrmidons stood, shields together and advanced on their enemies.

"What task indeed!" The globule chortled and shimmered. "Why, children...nay, Champions, your Gods and Goddesses have selected you to bring to pass a most important event. Without your aid, the mortal realm will collapse upon itself, destroying everything and soul within it."
This was not quite the casual conversation that Jade had intended on ushering in when she had fetched Lars. Her mind buzzed as she thought on the words...Zaeken had chosen her...Zaeken, the God who had sculpted out her mother's people, who she had served as faithfully as physically possible through her entire life...had chosen her to be a Champion. She, who was nothing. A halfling. And apparently, he had not done so lightly.
"If you are willing and able, you are to go forth and gather five sacred objects that have been hidden in your world, waiting for your arrival. It will be dangerous. I cannot guarantee that you will all survive. But if you are successful...if you gather the five gifts, and summon the golden temple...you will be given one final gift...from the Gods themselves. With this, you will be more than able to restore balance to your world."
Jade blinked. "The legend of the five treasures...that's...that's us..." She looked to Lars. She could imagine such a valiant, upstanding warrior being chosen, selected, cherished by the Goddess he so faithfully served. She could imagine her fine young student being smiled upon by the Siblings. But she felt far from worthy, herself.
"Yes, you. Now then...I shall, of course, give you time to consider...if you will, round up your fellows. You will know them when you see them. If you decide to accept this most glorious task, there will be a carriage waiting for you in the forest outside of this town. Best of luck." The glowing ball faded away...
Suddenly, there came a crash from below...

Lars felt his energies rising, battle was to be joined. Once again the call to defend had been cast...when he heard the voice of Jade.

"Hold, Lars!"

Lars stomped and then held. His feet slightly apart, his shield held firmly before him, his right hand free, dangling near the his weapons. He was torn, he owed it to those below to enter the fray, to cease what ever arms were being drawn. Yet he stopped, he had swore his oath, his blood to Jade.

The tense situation below seemed to be escalating, there were murmurs that rang of fear. Lars focused his mind, he focused on the laws of the teachings of Myra.

He exhaled and stood waiting, he stood as bid to do so, he held.

Jade skidded slightly as she stopped next to Lars, pausing only to draw her own blade. Her grin flashed in the dark.
"My friend, if there's fighting to be had, I'd prefer you were not so selfish as to have it alone!" Blade in hand, she took a few wide, leaping strides down the stairs and dove into the fray.
She twirled and whirled about through the mish mash of fists and flying objects as though in a dance, clearly enjoying herself. The chosen of the God of war, indeed.

Zul'saka pulled out "Head-splitter" and made his way through the crowd to the men who knew about him. "You..know too much, mon" He said as he raised his sword high. He delivered a downward slash and the sword hit it's target. The man's head was crushed and partially split.

The other man frantically readied his sword, assuming a defensive stance. Zul'saka quickly attacked, but his new target was quick. He managed to completely parry the attack. "A bounty's on your head, Troll! I'm not gonna walk out of this Inn 'til I kill you!" The man said as he shoved away fear, knowing full-well about the bounty place on Zul'saka.

The crash of blade into bone made a huge thunk that echoed around the tavern. Jade had leaped headlong into the fray. A grimace crossed Lars face under his great helm as he followed suit and jumped to the tavern floor. His boots touching down with a heavy impact, his eyes scanning the melee.
The kite shield held in front of him, covering his left flank and mid-trunk. His gray-blue eyes sought the dark form of Jade, seeking the twins blades she had drawn. A moment later he saw her darting and whirling through the chaotic mess.

Raising to a stance that allowed him maximum protection he pulled his heavy poignard and started making his way to Jade. Using his shield he met flesh and mass with it, slamming the metal and wood instrument roughly against flesh. The impact caused those struck to wheeze as the air exploded from their lungs, dropping them instantly to the wooden floor.

Lars kept his poignard loose and ready, using the blade to deflect wild swings as they came towards him. His armor taking nicks and bites from unskilled weapon wielding fools. As he closed on Jade, his grew wide as a bloodied man raised a chair, ready to crash it on Jade's hooded form. Stepping forward, his plant foot between Jade's legs, as he raised his shield above her, allowing the chair to crash and explode in splinters of wood that showered them both.

In a smooth move he whipped around her and brought his mailed elbow up and under the man's chin, hitting square in the throat, causing the man to gasp and reel backwards, unable to inhale air. His eyes wide as he clutched at his crushed windpipe.

That's when Lars' fell on the massive form of the troll and the great sword it was wielding. The sweat running down is face, he glanced back at Jade to make sure she was still standing. The blood that flew from her blades told him all he needed to know. As the massive troll started swing his blade again, Lars lunged forward and barreled into the man, knocking him down and lifting the shield to deflect the on-coming blow from the troll.

His voice carrying through the din as he shouted "By Myra, cease thy bloodshed or risk the wrath of the Goddess and her Myrmidons."

Gwen, still stunned from the little meeting with the glowing orb, looked at Renmith. He sniffed at her. Then she looked at Jade, who had bolted after the knight. She then looked around the room at everyone else.
Well that was interesting.
She jumped after Jade and ran after her down the stairs, only to find her mentor in the middle of a bar fight.
Great. Well, since I have nothing better to do...
She jumped the last few steps, landing on a drunken man ready to swing at another man's back.

A Knight knocked away his potential kill, this angered him. The man whom he was supposed to kill was lost in the chaos-out of sight, behind the walls of weapon, armor and fighting. His sword collided with the Knight's shield, causing an unpleasant quivering through the hilt of Head-splitter.

"By Myra, cease thy bloodshed or risk the wrath of the Goddess and her Myrmidons."

"Stay out of mah way, Human!" Zul'saka bellowed in anger. He shoved the Knight aside and tackled, pushed and even slashed his way through the fighting, attempting to re-locate the man, but alas He was no-where to be found-He escaped.

Zul'saka cursed several times in his Trollish dialect.

Dis be a bad start...
