Although Calla didn't look as if she were confused or even curious as to why Addison wasn't joining in on the game. She knew, for a fact, that the coach never let anyone sit out unless they had a valid reason to do so. So with that known bit of information she felt there wasn't any need to ask because really, she wasn't one to go prying into things unless given permission to do so.
With a quick wave in his direction Calla turned her focus back on the game itself. They had already split into two teams and both teams were now standing face to face. Since dodgeball was a relatively easy game to understand, the coach didn't bother explaining much. All he did was say what game they'd be doing that day and let the students do the rest.
"Okay people you know the drill, you get hit you get thrown out. Last person standing wins." The coach called out, and with a shrill blow from his whistle the game was on. Now usually Calla hated gym because she wasn't the sports kind of person, and she never could really get into many of the games the coach made them participate in. However dodgeball was one exception, because believe it or not that was one game she was at least somewhat good at. Actually she was better at the dodging part then the hitting, but at least that kept her in the game longer.
By the time the class was close to halfway over everyone else had gotten hit out over four or five times, while Calla had only been hit about two or three. True that only netted her one win, but at least that got her a few points on the coaches clipboard. Eventually he blew the whistle again signaling a break before the next round of dodgeball began, and while most of her classmates headed towards the lockers to either socialize or grab drinks while they had the time Calla headed in a different direction.
"The one game I'm even slightly good at and they decide to throw it at us right at the start, now I'm officially going to hate gym for the rest of the semester." Calla said as she sat down next to Addison while shaking her hair down from the ponytail she had pulled it into before gym class. She'd probably end up putting it right back up once the next half of class started, but for now she was taking her hair down before it ended up giving her a headache.
