Although Calla didn't look as if she were confused or even curious as to why Addison wasn't joining in on the game. She knew, for a fact, that the coach never let anyone sit out unless they had a valid reason to do so. So with that known bit of information she felt there wasn't any need to ask because really, she wasn't one to go prying into things unless given permission to do so.

With a quick wave in his direction Calla turned her focus back on the game itself. They had already split into two teams and both teams were now standing face to face. Since dodgeball was a relatively easy game to understand, the coach didn't bother explaining much. All he did was say what game they'd be doing that day and let the students do the rest.

"Okay people you know the drill, you get hit you get thrown out. Last person standing wins." The coach called out, and with a shrill blow from his whistle the game was on. Now usually Calla hated gym because she wasn't the sports kind of person, and she never could really get into many of the games the coach made them participate in. However dodgeball was one exception, because believe it or not that was one game she was at least somewhat good at. Actually she was better at the dodging part then the hitting, but at least that kept her in the game longer.

By the time the class was close to halfway over everyone else had gotten hit out over four or five times, while Calla had only been hit about two or three. True that only netted her one win, but at least that got her a few points on the coaches clipboard. Eventually he blew the whistle again signaling a break before the next round of dodgeball began, and while most of her classmates headed towards the lockers to either socialize or grab drinks while they had the time Calla headed in a different direction.

"The one game I'm even slightly good at and they decide to throw it at us right at the start, now I'm officially going to hate gym for the rest of the semester." Calla said as she sat down next to Addison while shaking her hair down from the ponytail she had pulled it into before gym class. She'd probably end up putting it right back up once the next half of class started, but for now she was taking her hair down before it ended up giving her a headache.

((Sorry for the delay... I've been feeling some intense finals-related writer's block.))

Addison chuckled at Calla's statement. He was pretty impressed by her performance, and wondered how she would have fared against him before his eyes condition had set in. He'd actually been a bit of a jock in middle school, making it onto the soccer and basketball teams and even playing hockey on the side. After he'd been unable to continue due to his eye, he'd discovered his love of theatre, and there he stood now: a strange amalgamation of sports and theatrical influences.

"Nice game," he complimented her, people-watching as the other students walked around and talked to one another. "That was a good save when the really tall guy tried to get you out but you caught it at the last second."

A few people were staring over at them, and it took a lot of concentration to stop Addison from rolling his eyes. Yep, someone's talking to the new kid who doesn't play sports. Stop the presses. It was refreshing that Calla also seemed to have no interest in the typical high school dynamic.

A flare of brief pain shot through Addison's eye, and he put a hand to it gingerly, closing both eyes and taking a few calming breaths. When he was younger he used to make a big deal out of it, screaming and crying, but he'd grown used to it now. He was no longer a pampered, spoiled 13-year old with an immortality complex. After a brief moment he sighed and took his hand away, feeling slightly better.

Calla just ignored the few stares that were shot in their direction, as if it was nothing to get all worked up over anyway. Good grief you'd think no one here had ever seen a new person before, but then again they were probably wondering why Calla was being so social all of a sudden. She really wasn't much for talking, especially to people she didn't know very well for reasons all her own. However, she just had this gut feeling that Addison was different somehow. Maybe moreso then he even knew, and that struck her as something of interest.

"Maybe.....I could tell him." She thought to herself, but she didn't dare say such a thing outloud. That would end up drawing unnecessary questions in her direction, and she definitely needed to do a little more investigating before coming to a final conclusion. However her train of thought was broken when she noticed the way he had suddenly covered his eye with his hand, almost as if there was something painful there or something like that.

"Hey are you okay?" She asked, a slight undertone of concern showing in her voice. She knew she was letting herself get closer then she should, probably more then was safe but for once she didn't care. She just felt like that for once, she could throw caution to the wind to some degree. Although she would still need to be careful, especially if the wrong people caught wind that she was becoming friends with someone. That could definitely be used against her, but she knew the tricks and the last thing she'd do was let him get dragged to far into this if she could help it.
