Final Fantasy RP? ( )

Postby Hirochi-Zangus on Wed Sep 01, 2010 8:36 pm

Would anyone be interested in a Final Fantasy Roleplay? I've been thinking about setting up one for a while and came up with a good system for it. It would be split into 5 or 6 Chapters, each for a certain archdemon, and would start out in a dungeon that the hero's have been imprisioned in, unknowing of what they've done. Probably have 4 heros (excluding me). I will explain the lv up system as well...

Leveling up!

It would be done when you gained exp from defeating fiends (which will be encountered quite often) and from Bosses (including the Archdemons). After you get enough exp points (say 100 the first time, then 150 the second time, then 225, so on so forth) you get 3 Ability points that you can add to your stats (STR, DEF, MAG, MDF, etc.) and 1 Skill point that you can use to "give" yourself a move or upgrade an existing move (Learned "Barrier Break", Fire------>Fira). Of course limits will be in place...

Classes

You'd start out as a basic (Warrior, BLK Mage, WHT Mage, Archer, Thief, etc.) but if you find a Shard (see below for Shard explanations) then you could change or LV up your class (BLK Mage----->ADV BLK Mage, Warrior----->Soldier). There'll be a max of 3 LV classes (BLK Mage----->ADV BLK Mage----->MST BLK Mage, Warrior----->Soldier----->Knight). By leveling up your class it will unlock how many moves you can have, how powerful your moves can be, and what natural abilities you have (Warrior: STR +3, Soldier: STR +5, Knight: STR +10).

Magic

Magic grows more powerful the higher up the chart it is. Basics are usually Fire, Water, Thunder, Blizzard, Cure, etc. and advanced ones are usually Firaga, Waterga, Thundaga, Blizzaga, Curaga, etc. and exclusively for the RP people who master an element get the -ja form of it which affects everyone it targets and has more affect than it's previous form, -ga (Thundaja, Curaja, etc.).

Shards

Shards can be obtained by PMing me during a chapter and requesting a mission to get a Shard (only 1 Shard per Chapter with a total of 6 Shards throughout the RP letting you master 2 classes). Shards will vary during the chapters and I will allow everyone to get a shard during the first chapter, but chapters after that will only have 2 shards so choose wisely who gets to obtain them…

Enemies

I will play most enemies (seeing as how I’m GM) but the other Heroes can have enemies appear that they wish to fight or conflict with the story. After all, this plot is not a straight line meaning it can go this way one day, then that way the next. Enemies should be according to the area (don’t have a Yellow Flan appear in the middle of a volcano).

Archdemons

They are the 4 main bosses, besides the final boss, that MUST be defeated before passing on to the next chapter (chapters will be explained below). The 4 Archdemons are Fire, Water, Thunder, and Blizzard (yes the 4 elements). It’s obvious what their weakness and strengths are and it is no secret since the world knows about them. The Archdemons will vary in strength regarding the chapter they’re in.

Chapters

Chapters will be chosen by the Heroes, besides the first and final chapters, meaning after escaping the dungeon you can chose which Archdemon to go after. There is no order in which you must fight them, nor is there an easy order. Archdemon’s power will vary depending on which chapter they’re encountered in.

Character Building!

Right now I have a simple set up. A character sheet will be provided in the RP but you must know for now that when building your character you are allowed 3 Skill Points meaning either having a more advanced version of a spell or having an ability you think might make some battles easier. NOTE: Spells are limited by class along with the power of a skill (BLK Mage can only have basic spells up to –ra, fire---fira.)

PM me if you have any questions regarding the Roleplay or if you have a suggestion about the roleplay. Note that this is just the fundamentals of the roleplay and not the actual storyline. I will put the plot in the actual Roleplay but for now, here are some things to look at to decide whether you want to join or not.

Please, if you have anything you want to ask, no matter how stupid you might think it is, PM me or reply here in the Interest Check. I’m only trying to make a fun, Final Fantasy RP that people will enjoy and hopefully stick with for the long run.

I'd be very interested in a Final Fantasy RP. I've been a fan of the game for years. And the system setup you have seems extremely detailed and very useful. I already have a character idea, but one thing I must ask. Isn't it the -ga ending that targets all in an area, and the -ja that is just a very powerful version of the first form, but targets one enemy?

It depends on the Final Fantasy. I know in FF X-2 for any of them you could press the right button and make the magic hit all targets instead of one, but in... which one was it...? Well, I remember there being a -ga that could hit all then the -ja hit them all but was just an upgraded version dealing more damage, like how fira is an upgraded version of fire.

And thank you for being interested! I've been a fan for years as well, but haven't been able to jump start a Final Fantasy rp before and ones that I found were decent or amazing filled up quickly. Hopefully more people are interested.

Summonings

Summonings can be acquired by anyone, but only 1 summon can be used by any person. Obtaining a summon may be requested by PMing me with the subject "Summoning." Summons will be able to level up such as how your character does, but it will only gain 1 SP (summon Point) for each monster it defeats (5 for bosses). These SP can be used to upgrade a stat or level up an attack (Blizzard + 10SP----->Blizzara). Summons can be used during battle and will fight instead of using their ultimate ability and leaving. They will be posted as minor characters instead of in the character listing. They can be summoned by using MP (about 1/4 of total MP) and will last until the summon, user, or enemies die.

This is how the summoning system will work. Please rate or suggest anything you think needs improvement. Final Fantasy Fans please post!

I love the system Hirochi. I am very interested. Just one question, so if you master two different classes do you become a hybrid of the two classes? Say for example a knight and black mage would become a like battle mage or something. And since thiefs traditionally wield two weapons if you go knight and master thief can the knight use two swords instead of a sword and shield to maximize the damage, this could be called a champion or something.

Basically, are the classes gonna be hybrids or do you have to switch between them in battle?

I read all of that earlier. So I didn't feel the need to now. Hah.
In any case! Any questions I had Frosty up there already asked. Soooo, I'll just say that I'm interested.
Get it?
Good. D<

Oh, wait. They tell me that I should put some more words in this post. And unfortunately, I really can't think of anything more to say. So be expecting some random poop for the rest of this post.
You really don't have to read it.
I mean, seriously. There's probably going to be no substance for the rest of it.
Really?
REALLY?
Yeah. Really.
YAY! GOOD WORK!

Well, your equipment isn't limited, like sword and shield, so a Knight could wield two weapons. And no, no hybrids. You can change classes though but I'm not sure if I'll allow it in battle yet or not. Maybe in the final chapter.

Hah hah, official change. There are "Hybrid" classes and you don't have to master the jobs you want for it. Read it in the roleplay. It'll be posted up soon and It'll be in my Sig above Cookie Monster. Expect it around.... 1:30pm (12:23pm right now).

very interestead, been a final fantasy fanatic since the age of 5 and love the way you've explained and detailed these rules. would adopt this thread as my first born if i could. but in all seriousness, i'm wanting to join ^.^
William Faulkner once said "The man who moves a mountian begins by carrying away small stones"..... Do you believe this?

Goergia Herbert once Said "Storms make the oak grow deeper roots". This i know is true.

And Helen Keller said "No pessimist discoverd the secrets of the stars"......

the simallarities ar that all of these are true
