((I was waiting for Rose Lyn, but I guess perhaps she was waiting for me... anyway, sorry for the lapse in posts.))

"Not at all," Vireo said. "Kalia and I were in Bhujerba when an old chap offered a hefty sum for transportation here, to Rabanastre. Profit is profit, and we take it where we can get it in this business." He placed a finger on his chin thoughtfully. "And how about you, my friend? Where are you 'drifting' towards?"

It seemed Soki and the Ladreduns had at least one thing in common after all. As sort of a joke, Vireo added, "For a very modest fee, I could take you there. Wherever 'there' happens to be." He winked at Soki.

Vireo looked away to a short, stocky waiter as he approached the table. "Ah, here we are," he said. "A small bottle of your finest wine for me and my friend." He ruffled Kalia's hair. "And something a tad less... hard for the little one here. Oh, and I'll have cockatrice eggs and toast to eat."

He realized that wine with breakfast might seem a little out of the ordinary, but where Vireo came from it was not a rare practice, especially on social occasions. He turned his head to look back at the one who had so graciously shared his table. "I don't think you introduced yourself, sir."

Kalia sat quietly as her father and this stranger spoke. She half listened to their conversation and half watched the people who filled the room. There were many of them and not all of them were Humes. She was very interested in the other races and often wondered what it would be like to speak with them of their history and such.

She glanced at the waiter as he came over and her father ordered. “I would like the same please.” She said this absently. She was extremely interested in exploring this entire city. The only thing was that she didn’t know if her father would let her wonder off on her own. Some times he would allow it but for the most part it depended on where they were and the people that were in the same area. She supposed she could ask him later.

She turned her attention back to the stranger. “Indeed, you should introduce yourself.”

The girl finally broke into the conversation as a reminder that this conversation did not take place in the lofty chambers of the Imperial Court of Archadia or the Royal Palace of Dalmasca, but instead in an alley in the streets of Rabanastre. The girl was truly the only one that belonged here in the city streets, the other two foreigners in their own right, born to different lives all the same.

"Take care not to associate with the same crowds," Balian warned as his arms settled down by his sides again, taking in one last glance of the young woman who had moments before almost been fodder for the lawless Seeq. Part of the Judge almost wished the creatures would have fought back, that there would have been some sort of action to break the stalemate that seemed to exist in his world at the moment. The border with Rozarria was tense, but no blows were to be exchanged. Both sides were being far too careful to instigate a war.

Still, Balian was a man that had been promoted to his station in life to keep the peace only because he was capable of the violent deeds that ensured it. Judges were meant to protect peace, not be a shining example of it. The sins of action were his to bear and another's to judge someday.

Soki blinked as he shook his head "Well I go by Soki not even I use my real name anymore..." he said softly as he just blinked and waved his hand "Nothing for me thanks....the wine'll do just fine.." he said softly as he leaned back in his chair and looked around. "And as for you offer I'm sorry but i'd have to pass..I'd rather not risk anyones health for my own.." he said softly as he just smiled towards them, Where he was going was a place that no one went anymore, a place where no one would want to go.

((OOC, i just posted my character a little while on the character application page for this rp, it said all applications are accepted so i'm posting Kadamitsu.

IC: Kadamistu decends the steps leading to the upper floors of the sandsea inn and takes a seat at the counter next to the hunt board. his Dark blade rests on a leather strap on his back without a scaberd. he orders a Bottle of liquer and drinks in contemplating silence. his dark broading nature draws a few heads at first, but they quickly look away as he scans the room twice over. being stuck in Rabinastre for two weeks has left him with little gil to spend, so he plans to leave in three days if he can't get any work. he notices two vierra that walk in and gives them a curt nod and continues to drink his liquer by himself and queitly.

He says to himself a little loudly that he neads a ride to Bhujerba for a low price due to his little gil left (the exact estimate is about 2,670 gil). the bartender asks him to please put his sword in a scabard, but he tells him off, saying that he wants him to put it in a sheath, he can go pull it out of the werewolf that ate it and begins to drink again.
William Faulkner once said "The man who moves a mountian begins by carrying away small stones"..... Do you believe this?

Goergia Herbert once Said "Storms make the oak grow deeper roots". This i know is true.

And Helen Keller said "No pessimist discoverd the secrets of the stars"......

the simallarities ar that all of these are true

Anastazia looked at both the judge and the street dancer, "It was a good thing to have this chat, I shall return from the palace in a day or so. Good Day, Balian." And with those final words she set off to make it to the gateway of the palace.

The guards halted her, "And where do you think your going, this palace is no place for a street walker."

Anastazia smirked, "Anastazia B'Nargin Dalmasca, would you like me to verify or do you want to yourself?"

Balian wasn't sure what he'd expected to find in the streets of Rabanastre, but he certainly hadn't expected to find the face of Anastazia among the merchants on the city's east side. His own spotted history with the woman was more than enough to fuel both of their angers for a while, two very proud souls clashing above the skies of Ivalice in a chapter of the Judge's life that reflected poorly on his ability to...adapt to strong-willed women.

Marek entered the Sandsea after one more short conversation with a Guild merchant. While still armored, his body was not in the thick throes of the thick plating the Judges used for their most official of duties. His garb instead seemed far more functional as he entered, keen eyes scanning the room quickly. The place was a meeting point for all the souls of Rabanastre, from guild hunters to war veterans, all with a story to tell and a drink to buy. On this day, there was little difference between the Archadian Judge and the Dalmascans surrounding him. Maybe not in their eyes.

Balian looked sharply a few seats down the counter at the apparent small scuffle between the bartender and one of the patrons, loudly mouthing his business to anyone unlucky enough to be in earshot. The Judge shook his head lightly.

Feeling the safest place in Rabanastre was now where she stood, Eve decided to dance just outside of the Sandsea as the previous moment's scene dispersed. Shakily picking up her things- but moving with more confidence, knowing now that those swine would not dare to return with a Judge in the vicinity- Eve moved to the center of the bazaar, and began to dance.

Balian found the Sandsea to be exactly as he'd remembered it, always full of some conversation. War veterans told stories of the defense of the city, young men spoke of their ambitions and the hunts that would land them the gil they needed to break out from the simple life of the city. The man's eyes narrowed as he settled on the young man a few seats down, carrying on about transportation to the sky city of Bhujerba. The blade strapped to his back had caught the attention of most of the patrons of the place, including the Judge.

"In my experience, any man who wields a blade that publicly is often looking to find a use for it," he said with a gruff voice, a nod to the bartender behind the counter and then to the drink before the young man, gesturing to fill it again.
