It was a wednesday afternoon when he'd ran into their old friend from high school, He didn't know what made him stop and say hi, he usually didn't talk to anyone when he'd seen them, in fact, he usually did everything in his power to avoid them. They'd got to talking about her, his high school sweetheart, his best friend back then. It wasn't right how she'd just left. He'd hired private investigators, talked to everyone possible who might know where she was but had gotten nothing, now, he was holding her address and phone number in his hand, on the back of a napkin.
He headed home after hearing the news, "Yeah she's got a cute kid too." He thought about her being a mother, struggling alone. They'd talked about moving into a big house, having kids, raising them together but he'd never thought she'd be doing it alone. He wasn't sure what he should do so he called one of the investigators to go and verify the address and phone number. He felt bad doing it but he had to make sure.
A few days later the investigator had called back, it was her. He'd had a few pictures of her and her little boy. He was precious. He looked down at the number again and dialed the phone taking a deep breath waiting for the ringing to stop on the other end...
"And when someone apologizes to you enough times for things they’ll never stop doing, I think it’s FEARLESS to stop believing them. It’s FEARLESS to say “you’re NOT sorry”, and walk away. I think allowing yourself to cry on the bathroom floor is FEARLESS. Letting go is FEARLESS. Then, moving on and being alright…That’s FEARLESS too." - Taylor Swift
