The mystery of Auras. Over 5000 years ago Auras were discovered. They affect people who can weild them both physically and mentally. To most of the world the knowlege of the auras have been lost. It's now the year 3054. The war against the aura weilders has begun. Demon-like dogs called aura eaters are the main weapon against these aura weilders. Do the weilders have what it takes to defeat the king and survive?, or will they all be killed for the king's greedy purposes? Only time will tell.

Two boys are running through the forest. All one can here is the leaves cracking under their feet. A growing sound was following them and by the way it sounded it was getting closer, whatever it was.

"Come on Xen. Just a little bit further. If we can make it just outside the woods there's an underground entrance." Said Johnny twoards Xen.

Xen nodded and continued running. The sound behind them growing louder still. Xen was breathing hard, the fear shown in each breath he took.

"Look Xen we're almost there. We're almo... Ahhhh!" The single aura eater following the two caught up and bit Johnny's aura apart. He tripped but was able to regain himself but no longer had his aura. He'd get it back if they could escape. Noticing Xen about to turn around he yelled. "Keep going. Just a little farther." As they neared the underground entrance Xen opened it up as the aura eater returned. He jumped at Johnny and wrapped his teeth around his leg. "Go now Xen!!!!"

Xen put his arm out twoard Johnny but it was too late. The aura eater had him. It dragged him back a bit and wrapped his teeth around his throat, finishing the job. Xen went under and slammed the entrance shut. He slid down the wall and tears began running down his face. "The king will pay. Once I find the resistance he will PAY!!!"



While everything was going on, Scythe was just sitting back in his chambers. He sent the aura eaters after any aura weilders still around. So far most of them returned with some proof of at least one death. A few however had not returned and wouldn't.

Off in a city that was neither controlled by good or evil, a man stood in his room staring intently at his reflection in the mirror. He peered at himself from behind his light brown hair, memories flooding his mind. Chronis closed his eyes, he managed to suppress the memories for a full five weeks this time, but it seemed like the longer he suppressed them, the stronger they came back, and the stronger they came back, it seemed that he had a harder time controlling his problem.

He stood there looking down at his hands, which were now being engulfed by a darkish mist which gradually crawled up his arms. He closed his eyes, trying to mentally control his problem and box the memories away once again. A slice of pain cut through his head like a blade and he dropped to the floor cradling his head yelling in pain, the mist gathering more massively around him.

The streets were busy as usual in the city, one man on his way to work thought he heard yelling in one of the apartment complexes he was passing by, he gazed up at the third story of the building just in time to see the windows get blown out followed by what looked like a rush of black air which dispersed slowly into the gloomy sky. Everyone in the street screamed and ran in a panic as shards of broken glass and pieces of wooden window frame scattered across the city street.

Above the woods, on a small sized cliff Orrin stood, Diana on is shoulders. The sun flashed briefly as it was slowly consumed grey clouds, and with almost a sigh, rain began to fall. "Orrin, Let me down!" Diana called giggling, He gave a smile and set her down watching her run circles on the cliff. "Diana, stay away from the edges." Orrin called noticing how close she was "Get over here, i'll take us down to the woods and maybe we can find some cover." She did as she was told and Orrin dropped lightly bouncing off several footholds before landing in the slightly muddy ground. "Now you can run around all you want, just don't wander to far." Orrin said "You know what to do when your in trouble."

Diana nodded and patted the dagger Orrin had given her as a gift "If i see anyone dangerous i need to shoot up a bolt of lightning and run away." She replied repeating the instructions she was supposed to follow. Orrin nodded and leaned back "I'm going to take a quick break and have some food, you can play but be sure to get something to eat." She just simple ran off into the woods in search of adventure. The ranger sighed and leaned back against the cliff pulling out a bit of jerky and hardened bread.

Orrin spent the next five minutes chewing slowly through his small meal as the rain fell. He was beginning to like the place, Quiet, full of fruits and vegetables, and he could see animals roaming around searching for their next meal in life. Something flashed to the right and Orrin turned, spinning so fast he nearly cricked his neck just to catch the small bolt and a scream. Orrin paled, he dropped the remains of his meal in the mud and sprinted full force to the last location of Diana's signal.

Angel was in the commanders room or what was of it since it was underground. It was fairly big enough to be called a room. " Dammit, damned aura eaters" she said as she slammed her hands on her desk " it seems that they are always one step ahead of us why? Soki get ready I have a feeling that we are going to encounter some today. " she added. She had the feeling that they were out there hunting her kind. But they had to be stopped.

She got up and grabbed her scythe. It was her weapon, able to cut any living thing with just only one swing, and she always used it at the beggining of battle and once the battle got tough, that's when she started using her power.

" Come Soki, let us enjoy our hobby...hunting...aura eater." She said showing a smile as she stepped out the room. She knew that it was going to pump him up and pumping was something she needed. Right when she was heading for one of the many entrances she saw what seemed to be a teenager crying. Angel always took crying as a sign of trouble. She ran up to him putting her scythe leaning against the wall. " Hey there, are you new? I don't think I've seen you here, is everything ok?" She asked.

Thead arriving back at the castle he ignores the foolish peons and civilians. He makes his way to his master as he does this he walks by the aura eater pen stopping there he checks the amount that has returned. "Not enough returned" leaving the aura eaters that had been given to him for his mission. Continuing to his master Scythe he places his hand on his sword as he thinks to himself this is where an assasin would be. Relaxing he thinks no matter who the assasin is he can't kill Scythe. Ariving at the room he enters and says "I have completed this job but found no clue of a larger rebelion with that group."

Reyorek, sprawled out across a main branch of an oak tree, gazed up at the darkening sky though a gap in his makeshift leaf-tent. He had been been peacefully humming a tune to him self while watching the clouds, awaiting the tell tale sound of his trap being sprung which would signify dinner had been caught, and then suddenly he heard a peal of thunder and saw part of his vision of the clouds brighten up. His lazy, carefree attitude immediately changed as he became alert. What might seem normal to someone else - lightning or thunder from obviously heavy clouds - was alarming to him because unlike most other people he knew his clouds, and knew them well; he had spent most of his life sleeping under the open skies and from just looking at the clouds he knew they were not the cause of the lightning.

Quickly packing his things back into his little rucksack, Reyorek threw it over his back and putting on his coat and hood on slipped out into the light pitter-patter of falling rain as droplet splashed down over him. He immediately sent a gust of wind towards the direction he saw the flash light up the sky from, closing his eyes he focused on the wind making out its exact path. As it spread out he sensed it flow over countless birds, squirrel and other wildlife before finally passing over the forms of humans. When the wind weakened and faded as it reached his limits, he became sure of 3 things. There was a child close to where the lightning had probably occurred, two adults rushing towards the same point one of which was possibly male, and there was something else, it might have been a aura eater which was closing in on the child but it was form was hard to distinguish. Knowing all this, Reyorek set off at a jolly pace, as if strolling peacefully through the treetops, jumping from one branch to the next with his near impeccable balance, using small blasts of wind to steady himself.

The palace walls echoed with the sounds of her stomping boots. Defoko walked calmly and cautiously towards the dungeon where they kept the dogs. The aura-eating dogs. She had to count how many were in her care, before going to the field. Her first mission would come soon, and she needed to be prepared.

Defoko's clothes were thin enough to keep the heat off her, letting her relax from sweating, which wasn't something she preferred. As she walked outside, she noticed the fountains water was running slightly over the edge, which was strange to see. Though, it must have been the recent rain that had brought this on, it was still an interesting sight. Water streamed down the edges, free as anything could be. Defoko's usual face lightened at the sight. It was more than just a natural occurrence, it said a million words to her, just through the sight. Though, these words cannot be written, they can be described in just a few statements. Free, beautiful, and commanded. Unlike the world which everyone was forced to live in, no one had control over the fountains water. It made Defoko think, maybe if the rebels....

Insane. They would not, and she wouldn't let them. Defoko Dehuo would never allow them to overthrow her king, whom she has absolute allegiance to!.....at least, this is what she wants to believe. Such treacherous thoughts could get her killed anyway, and she didn't ever want to bring shame to her family, to her kingdom. Defoko shook her head vigorously, and started a fast-past walk to the dungeons.

"Help him, Help him" Sobbing Diana stood over the fallen boy with blue hair. She had first spotted him when the Aura eater had him by the leg and reacted by firing off a bolt of lightning. She stood shaking, dagger in hand as the Aura eaters circled her, The one she blasted away got up slowly, a menacing growl echoing through out the forest as the other creatures took up the sound. Diana stood her ground "Hurry." She spun trying to keep an eye on each dog as they circled her, their growls shaking the earth as they stalked closer.

Then a Hiss and a yelp as an Aura eater fell, an arrow lodged in it's throat. With a beastial roar Orrin charged, flames burning the water on him leaving a trail of steam, blades flashing as he instinctivly sought to protect his daughter from the danger that encircled them. She saw them react to the new threat and hastily began to pull the injured man under the cover of a tree. Once out of the rain she pulled out a small bottle of alchohol she kept and a small roll of bandages.

Orrin spun on the spot his scimitar glistening in the rain as he drove back the aura eaters that surronded him. He could feel them feeding off his aura. He had to finish it quickly or else he was in trouble. He noticed one trying to sneak in low and greeted it with a knife to the skull, swinging his scimitar in a horizontal slash to gut a flying beast who was attempting to get him high. He snapped his blades back to their starting position his eyes flicking between the remaining beasts. One, two, three, wait-

A sharp crack and he felt a slight charge in the air as the lighting blasted the aura eater that had been sneaking up on Orrin's back. He gave a grin of thanks and slid foward unleashing a flurry of blows that diced the demons finishing his dance with a thrown knife to finish off the remaining dog. He breathed a sigh of relief and waved over at Diana "How is he?" He called retrieving the knife. He sensed two other people coming, maybe three, the rain was messing up his senses but he could tell they meant no harm, for now. "He's fine!" Diana wiped the sweat of her brow "Just a minor bite and aura drain, he'll wake up soon."

Max was on a routine patrol of the forest when the sounds of battle reached him. He followed the to there source and he watched from a tree as a man with a scimitar finished off a pack of aura eaters. he leapt from his perch and confronted him. "my friend you show some great skills in the ring of combat. Where did you train?" he asked casually.

"I have heard of some martial art schools and wondered if you had trained with any experts, As i am truly impressed with your skills with the blade. or is this skill born of the power you carry?" Max was determined to find out the capabilities of his powers and took every opportunity's to learn about auras, Were they all mystic powers? Or was there agility skills born from other types?...

Xen turned to see some people right behind him. Was he new? Of course he was but who were they? Was it a trap? No Johnny wouldn't of led him there then. This must be the resistance. The rebellion itself.

"My name is Xen. I was recruited by my best friend Johnny. We were on our way here when we were attacked. Johnny was killed and dragged away by an Aura eater right up there. He gave his life to save me. He told me if this situation ever arose to tell the rebellion the word Sparrow. I'm not sure why, he just said to do it."

Scythe looked at the man that came in. It was his loyal subbordinate. "Do not worry Thead. There is a large rebellion force out there. All we need to do is find it and exterminate them all. Is there anything else to report?"

Soki nodded his head to the commander as he followed her quietly, he didn't mind hunting aura eaters, he just thought their commander was little bit to reckless with her own life. He followed her as they reached an entrance and the boy he shook his head "Johnny....He was one of our best recruiters..." he said with a shake of his head. "Maybe this is fate ma'am...?" he said looking at the commander with a tilted head and a thoughtful expression upon his face. He looked from the commander to the male and back again "Should we allow him into our Ranks ma'am..?" he asked quietly.

Chronis came stumbling out of his room slamming the door open with his right shoulder, coughing dust out of his mouth from all the debris floating around the newly destroyed apartment. He had to move quickly for fear of attracting attention. He pulled his hood over his head and began moving down the hallway to the staircase entry door.

Upon reaching the door Chronis froze from a noise he heard emanating from behind the door. It was a dreadful, growling noise. He gently pressed his ear up against the door to try to make sense of the noise, the moment his ear made contact, the door blew open in an explosion of splintered wood and dust. Chronis was thrown backwards from the shock wave, the impact of his back hitting the hallway wall left a small dent. He stumbled to his feet in a daze, with no other word to explain how he felt, he was pissed off.

The debris cleared and there stood an aura eater, hungering to taste his flesh. The beast charged, Chronis still being a bit dazed from the dramatic entrance, caught a claw to the face, sending him spinning down the hallway. He slid across his back and rolled backwards onto his feet staying in a crouch. Even more angered than he was before he charged head on at the aura eater, who began charging as well. Chronis clenched his right fist tightly, slightly puncturing the skin from the pressure, blackish mist began materializing around his fist, gradually engulfing his arm. Before both bodies clashed the beast swung an arm at Chronis, he ducked, shifting his weight to put all the weight he could into his blow. Chronis let out a low, violent grunt, thrusting his fist into the beasts chest, the mist dispersed in an explosion sending the eater sailing backwards down the hallway. Without having to think twice, Chronis made a flat out run toward the staircase "door" before the thing came to in an angry fit.

He burst through the first floor door into the street where pieces of wood and glass was scattered across the street, he pulled his hood over his head and slipped into a near by alley-way where he leaned his back up against the wall and slowly slid to the floor, the hilt of the sword on his back scraping against the wall during the decent. He touched his face and looked at his bloody fingers, then gazed down at a bleeding right arm. He then continued to close his eyes, passing out from his throbbing head, his head leaning up against the dumpster he was next to.

"I can't believe they got Johnny, and he was one of our best. The aura eaters must be getting good or something. They gave him the word sparrow , so that meant that he was good. Yes, he will join, but he was to be the one to make the decision, we won't make him join by force. But we have to go now. This means that there must be some aura eaters near by, the more the merier." she said smiling. She then gave her attention to the guy.

" Don't worry Xen you're in good hands now, Im Angel the rebellion leader and this is Soki, my 2nd in command, right now you have a choice of going with us or staying here. If you do then all you have to do is go straight that is all. If you want to come with us you will be safe no matter what" she said.

"Soki, its time" she said to him .

Orrin looked at the man with disinterest, He noticed another woman dropping from the trees and heading over to where Diana was, but decided not to worry. "You can't learn sword skills just from having an Aura" Orrin replied wiping his blade "I prefer not to speak of who i trained with, i only seek one thing, safety for my daughter." He nodded over to her as he sheathed his weapons and walked over to her and the other woman

"Good afternoon to you." Orrin replied kicking aside the chopped corpse like it was always there, "Diana are you alright?" She looked up at him with a grin, "I'm fine Orrin, this girl was just helping me heal him and saved me from the mean doggy." She narrowed her eyes, "The one you missed." She giggle when he began sulking in a corner and turned back to the silver haired woman "I'm Diana, and the big one is Orrin, he's my daddy." She grinned evilly "My clumsy daddy" Orrin sank deeper into his corner at those words. She giggled again "Whats your name?" she asked
