The great beastly dragon gazed down with soft violet eyes upon the small egg clutched in Adriena's grasp. His first instinct was to sniff at it, take in the scent and then decide upon what could actually be lurking behind the smooth shell. His eyes took in its every inch, it was a perfect egg if he could say so himself, all but a large crack gouged into its side, with several smaller cracks jetting out in all directions looking like tiny veins. The smell was one he had not happened across, not even while encased in his egg.. though it was not another dragon.. he was sure of that much.
Zayden lifted his gaze out across the sands, at that moment wondering where Billie was--possibly inside the town somewhere, or else close behind Adriena, come to stay by his side rather than rest within the town. He had never attempted to connect with another being, and he felt slightly odd as he gazed down at the human girl before him, speaking out into her mind, that uncomfortable note attached to his voice. "It is no dragon that resides within this egg. It smells unlike anything I have smelt before. Though not dangerous." He added as an after thought, seeming to smile down at her. Clawing his large impressive talons into the sand, the dragon released himself from her mind, hoping that the experience was not an uncomfortable one for her--having another being speak in your head wasn't too much of a pleasant experience without the bond of Dragon and Rider.
The town was brimming with life even though the sun was setting behind the desert dunes, sending the sky alight with a deep crimson hue. Among the countless races of lizard people, an occasional elf or two, human and viera which were a folk of the forest, a cross between rabbit and hume--there was a Drow, a thin strong looking man with dark gray skin tone long white hair pulled back into a pony tail and deep crimson eyes. He sat within the Tavern at a table alone, a sword strapped to his belt, though it was concealed by his long black traveling cloak.
He had been approached only once by a bar maid, though once she had seen his face she quickly jumped and scurried off--he scoffed at the thought of her reaction, it was common for him to receive these reactions from humans or elves, even lizard people looked down upon the Drow--so why had he promised that Ahriman man that he would lend his assistance? His eyes narrowed as he thought of Ahriman, thought of their dealings together. Had the man been foolish? If the soldiers didn't capture him surely the Vakkar would. And who was this.. Rider? Egg carrier? He was restless and so he thumbed gently at his swords hilt, something he did often when there was nothing else to do. He would just have to keep waiting.. a sigh escaped his lips his eyes still narrowed grumpily--he hated waiting.
