Actually, I disagree with Shou only on some parts. Some parts of the designs do look 3-Dimensional, yes, but it is very easy to depict what is not. If you observe it closely, there is a mixture between some form of 3D detail and the 2D detail with the chairs and table lamps. Although they are very well put together, you can definitely tell it's not done in 3D at all. If this was done in 3D, the dimensions would look at lot clearer and wouldn't be sketchy, and would appear to be more smooth. The patterns are distributed very well throughout each image, but some of the angling is definitely off.
Also - the walls in the second image are off and make it look like it's not distributed evenly. The pattern on the right wall leads up towards the focal point, where the pattern on the left wall slants downwards from the focal point. And the picture is crooked. Plus, also the fact that Sketch-up isn't an in-depth 3D modeling program could be why it's off. Technically, what I see here is a 3D illusion instead of an actual 3D workspace. I looked up Sketch-up and it's exactly what it seems - a sketch program made for like architects and some game developers. Basically, it's a "quick and easy program."
Regardless, I still do like the work. If you actually made it in 3Ds Max, I think it would look phenomenal. You should try to get that program if you're truly interested in 3D design. We use it in school and it's an amazing 3D program.
