Gods walk among us.

There are mysteries in this world that remain unsolved, phenomena that are thus far unexplained, things yet undiscovered. There are people in this world who can do amazing things, -break records, cure diseases, end wars- but some people are capable of more than just the amazing. Some people, hidden among us, can do things no humans have done before, fly unaided, punch holes through walls, melt steel with little more than a thought. But such people can not hide forever, and slowly they are emerging from the shadows.

They do not all come forth as heroes or villains, some are found willingly, others are simply found. Some will go on to do great things, great good or great evil, and others will simply fade away, returning to civilian life. But perhaps their powers are not without a purpose, perhaps there is a destiny they must one day fulfill.


((Now, this won’t be like most hero RP’s. First of all, people won’t start out wearing costumes and prancing around some major city punching bad guys in the face. This won’t even be that action oriented, instead, I’m going to steer it in a much more contemplative direction, focusing on philosophy and moments of Awe. However, I’m also going to try to keep it from being gritty or bogged down.

For the record, I don’t have this RP planned out, with people simply filling out spaces with predestined futures. I have an overall vision for this series, but I don’t want to meddle with the characters to much, that will be the writer’s job.))

((Okay, this will definitely be a more serious roleplay (Perhaps not dark, but for people who are willing to devote their time into making intelligent posts and helping to better the RP). And I have some rules and regulations. There are a lot of them, but if you actually read them, they just touch up on character development and other things which, if followed, will just help the RP run a bit faster.

Powers + Personality: (If you read nothing else, read this.)
1: ABSOLUTLY the most important part of all: DO. NOT. PICK. A. COMMON. POWER. I don't want to see people with fire powers, or flight, or telekinesis, or regeneration or anything like that! Challenge yourself, think of something out of the ordinary. As long as it's not godmoddishly powerful, there isn't that much of a limit to what you can do. (Not even physics will limit you as long as you don't go so far as to spit in its face)
2: Your character should have real depth. I don't care if nothing that special has happened to him or her yet, by the
end of the RP, something will have.
3: Try not to over-saturate your character's back story (if he/she has a relevant one) with to much action or drama. Honestly, I don't care about your characters back-story, his/her personality will be significantly more important.
(Also, while deciding that characters personality, really think about what that character would do in a variety of situations. (Ie: death of a friend, discovery of powers))
4: Don't try to model your character after you or what you wish you were, that rarely works out. Feel free (in fact, feel compelled) to give your character personality traits that you yourself don't share with him or her.
5: In your profile, do not state whether your character is good or evil, very few people are simply one or the other, so don't confine yourself to that.

Conflict + Conduct:
6: People are relatively fragile. Fights between two people shouldn't last more than a post or two depending on the powers. Someone will generally flee, faint or die by that time.
7: Your character will take a hit; do not make it so that your character somehow dodges everything without fail.
8: Your character may die, this is fine, you can rejoin with a new character, though I would prefer it if that new character wasn't closely related to the dead one...
9: Please try not to milk or create drama without cause, I don't want two characters who are best friends start hating each other for no reason.
10: You shape your own destiny. You can choose the direction your character is going, and before you interact with other characters, you have complete control of what happens to you. Accidentally destroy the school and go to prison, the escape? Fine by me, just try not to milk it to much…
11: Try to make it so that you do meet up with another character one way or the other, while I might have to, I don’t want.

Personallity: Often times is seen alone, doesn't like to talk much. He doesn't try to make friends, it's hard when lies are so easy to pick up on. He is an introvert, and doesn't speak up unless he has too.

Decent description of your characters appearance: Wears glasses, has a pale complextion with some freckles on face. Short dark brown hair. Tall for his age, slighty over weight.

Powers: Can tell people's true motives, feelings and the like. It is not mind reading, as he can not tell thoughts. Just what makes the person tick.

Background: He was born a normal birth, raised a normal boy. He always was interested in what made people go bad, what made evil men save people. Even at an early age, he tried to profile everyone from his teachers to his parents. He liked to peice together people's personality. As he discovered his power, he is begining to see things in a whole new light.

Decent description of your characters appearance: Elliot wears a pair of dark brown-rimmed glasses. She usually misplaces them, and so she’s hardly seen with them. She does however own a favourite hoodie of which she usually wears, as well as her beat-up black converse. Her eyes are a clear bluish-green, the colour depending on the light she's in. She has a tattoo on her left shoulder blade that’s usually hidden behind her long brown hair. Her hair, as stated, it long, reaching a few inches past her collarbone, and it's cut frames a pale complexion, her bangs cut to hang to the right side of her face. Elliot reaches a total of 162 inches, or rather, 5 feet 2 inches. She weighs in at a total of 120 lbs. She's not very big, but she can be a force to reckon with when pissed off.
Powers: Elliot has the ability to create electrical discharges and gale-force bursts. That however does not mean she can create storms out of a clear blue sky. She can, however, use the storms that are raging to her advantage. She can also touch another human while using her powers, and cause electricity to run through them, depending on the amount, can give that person a heart attack, and kill them.
Background: Elliot discovered her powers when she was a measly 10 years old. She was just about to kiss her next-door neighbour when electric sparks appeared on her fingers, and the boy ran away, screaming. Her parent’s were forced to move away with her and her sister after that, due to the poor treatment everyone was giving their daughter. They then moved to the house they’re currently living in now. Other then that, Elliot’s life has been pretty down to earth. She has however, gained a couple of burns over the past years from her powers.

Decent description of your characters appearance: Kiyoko has hip length thin white hair with a pale pink tinge. She has pale white skin, much like the color of snow as she is from the upper north of Japan, Hokkaido. Her eyes are a bright hazel brown, long curled eyelashes framing them. She has a slim or slender body and mainly wears white clothing.
Powers: Kiyoko has the power of air, whether it being about turning it into a weapon or into a gentle breeze. She can also change the density of the air to her whim.
Personality: Kiyoko has a very motherly sort of personality -- she is caring, kind and always thinks of others besides herself. She is very quiet and can seem anti-social at times. She is very optimistic and smiles even when it seems darkest for her. She is rarely angered and when she is, she flies into a blinding rage and goes unconscious. She is sensitive to people insulting her dead parents and this may be the cause to her rage.
Background: Kiyoko's parents were murdered by a burglar while she was at school in junior high. Since then, she was brought into the care of her grandparents who owned a teahouse. She found peace in the death of her parents from practicing tea ceremonies and learned to act calm and composed. Her body isn't the same as others; she is slightly weaker. From time to time, she suffers few fainting spells.

Sunglasses-George is almost always seen wearing his trademark sunglasses, a jet black pair of almost square glasses with a distinctive stripe of gold across the top.

Ring-George long ago crafted himself a large silver ring which he now wears on his right hand. Simple in design the ring's only real feature is its size, being specifically crafted to to house enough silver for George to create a small switch-blade-sized knife from, it resembles an old signet ring, only without the signet.

Powers
Pecuniakinesis-George is able to move and reshape any form of currency or precious metal with his mind, as fast and as accurately as he likes. However once it stops being currency, melted or torn, his power over it departs. His power manifests as golden light. Precious metals include Gold, Silver and Copper, the more of it the more control he has, while currency includes any form of currency, so long as George is aware that that object is a form of currency.

Personality: George is almost a narcissist, while he is aware that there are other people in the world, he views himself as superior to almost all of them. Though he has yet to give himself a reason why, subconsciously he believes that his powers give him the right to take what he wants from the world.
Perhaps the only things in the world George cares about are his sunglasses, which house his first score worth of gold in their brow, and his ring, which has saved his life on a number of occasions in the past, or at least kept him from getting arrested.

Not entire obsessed with himself, George enjoys dancing, partying, and generally having a good time. Due to his powers he's never had to work for anything, and doesn't really know the value of money. He often spends in extravagance whenever enjoying himself in an attempt to keep the good times going.

Subconsciously George regrets hiding his powers, and never reuniting with his father, though now his pride alone wouldn't allow him to. He often performs small 'magic tricks' to show off his power in secret, including making origami figures out of paper bills without actually folding them, or twirling a coin on the tips each finger. George particularly enjoys showing off for pretty girls, viewing himself as a bit of a lady killer, though he's never really had the heart to 'pursue' a one night stand to fruition.

Background: George's father was a banker, while his mother left them when before he really got a chance to know her. His father was a strict man, who was entirely convinced of one thing, whomever had the money, had the power, and while he never directly conferred this to his son, George picked up on it all the same. Ultimately growing to irritated with his father's growing discontentment with his life, George left home when he was 16. He ran completely out of money shortly there after, but rather than return to his father and admit he couldn't make it on his own, George turned to thievery, and it was while plying this trade that he discovered his powers.

Immediately after he discovered them, George set to work mastering them, quickly learning he could pick people's pockets simply by thinking about it. He soon graduated to larger crimes, being a clever kid he was able to lie his way into bank vaults or rent safety deposit boxes, only to steal the contents.

Since he has enjoyed a rather opulent life, never settling for anything less than the best there is, and often throwing house warming parties for houses he doesn't intent to stay in. The end result of which is normally him sitting alone in the dark with a headache and a mess.

Okay, I've definitly decided to accept DecieverGod's character, the personality was excellently done and his power paired with how he uses it is eqally as cool.

When TrealiStorm decides what her characters power is, she'll be acceped, we need a villian

I definitly like Leon's power, it could be extremly usefull, Hunter is accepted.

As for the last 3, I only have a few problems:
1. IcedFire and Oranger rager: Your powers have been done alot, could you perhaps change them?
2.Pretty X Awesome: That sounds like a rather shallow personality.

Lastly: It would be nice if you added personality and nationality to your profiles, but since I messed up with that, it's optional.

Athias-Actually, good and bad is a matter of perspective, it all depends on where your allegiance lies.

Anyway here's my caracter:
Name: Mierick Dagoner
Gender: male
Age:14
Desription: A skinny frame with little muscle. Has slightly tan skin. He also has blue eyes, and dark blond hair at about ear lenghth. And his glasses hang limply from his face.
Powers: Can manipulate darkness to make himself and others as well as trick an opponents into seeing some thing else.
Background: As a young boy he alwys felt like an outsider, even when he was exepted by everyone he still felt like an outsider. His father was in jail for sellong drugs in the black matket, and his mother has been missing for three years. He is currently a runaway.

Personallity: Even as a kid Mierick has never done anything unless there was something in it for him. He bever seems to get close to anyone and oftern spends his ime in the shadows where he feels most comfortable.

Location: Unknowmn, he never lingers in more than one place in the world for very ling, but it is rumored that he lives in the shdows themsleves.

Name: Father Matthias Lualdi

Personality: Despite his somewhat outlandish looks, Matthias is somewhat humble, compassionate and generous, easily becoming your every day Parishioner. The difference is, he is rather outgoing and enthusiastic, despite the fact everyone may dislike him: he loves to reach out to others, no matter how much of a disaster it may seem to be.

When being rather serious, his somewhat bright personality dims into a quiet, determined man, believing that 'his cause is a cause worth following until the end'. He will do any means to achieve his goals, but never at the expense or by jeopardizing other people's safety or belongings. He will try to resolve everything with peace and agreement, never resorting to take anyone's life away.

Powers:

Blink Alchemy: Harnessing the essence of matter, Matthias is capable of binding or re-shaping non-organic materials in a Molecular level. This is his default fighting ability.
Phylactery: Able preserve his own soul, Matthias can leave his body and transfer his soul into any Inanimate object. The body then enters into a severe coma state.
Stigma: Last Exile A passive ability, it causes anyone around him to develop intense paranoia and unreasonable hatred directed only to him. Causes Flora around him to deteriorate. Only those with 'Powers' are not affected by this. On his back, the words 'Atone to thine Sin, Fall of Man; Woe to thee, Wanderer in the Land of Nod.' are branded.


Background: "From the Blackest of Sin can the Brightest of Virtue arise" is Matthias' favorite quote, despite the fact that rarely anyone would be around to hear it without anyone trying to kill him. He doesn't mind the fact that possibly every human on the earth is willing to kill him, in fact, he seems oblivious to every murder attempt he encounters. Free-spirited, enthusiastic and rather Humble, Matthias always plays along with every human being, despite the fact he knew it would be inevitable that anyone would betray/try to kill/assassinate/defame or humiliate him.

Despite being content that people usually buy his story of himself being a spoiled rich kid who left his parents to pursue the Religious Life, he passes himself off as a Theologian and rarely, a Mechanic. Donning a Priestly garb topped with a dirt-brown beret, Matthias never seems to mind that he always sticks out in a crowd at every given situation. But deep within what seems to be a smiling face lay secrets, secrets that not even Matthias is willing to give up easily.

Power: The ability to manipulate reality:
John has the ability to bend the space-time continum as we know it. He can pull objects out of thin air, launch himself into space with a mere though, change the very color of the skies with less than a forethought. He can do whatever he wants to whoever he wants. But it doesn't matter, not the slightest bit. Nothing Jonathan does effects his main reality in the slightest.

Whenever Jonathan uses his powers, a new sub-reality breaks off from the orriginal one. He can manipulate these sub-realities all he wants, he can wipe out the universe for all he cares, and it wont matter. The strand of reality he has created instantly dissapears, and everything he does is completly inconsequential. He can only do incredibly small things with his powers, summoning a small bauble every now and then, even rarely managing to sucessfully teleport.

Using his power, Jonathan can branch off reality and see what everyone in the main reality was doing the exact second he activated it. As a result, he always knows exactly what is going on, he knows almost all of the secrets of agencies like the CIA and KGB, the scandals of politicians, and much more. However, if he tries to reveal this information to anyone else, reality branches off, and when he's throughtalking, he finds everything exactly as it was before he tried to reveal this information.

Personality: As a result of his ability, Jonathan has become increasingly unattached to the main reality. He has trouble registering the severity of situations, and is loosing basic understanding of human thought. He once aspired to great things, but his powers have convinced him that no matter what he does, it doesn't matter. The only one who is ever effected by his branching off of reality is himself. He's loosing basic understanding of human emotions, and even empathy towards man. He is so apathetic and aloof that he doesn't care who lives or dies. Deep down inside, he wishes to do something for the good of mankind, but this hope is so shattered that he's convinced his existance is worthless.

Decent description of your characters appearance: (Reysha, Alias, Rey; she has mysterious hazel eyes, short strawberry-brown hair accompanied by side-swept bangs and a bright smile.
Reysha has been known to sing well, like children, and draw. No, her drawing skills do not include drawing the future. (Haha? Heroes?)
Rey stands at about 5'7" with slightly broad shoulders and strong legs. Her arms seems weak, though are er, 'more than meets the eye'.
These muscles were made over a series of training classes when she learned to fight. Someone who can make memories has got to be able to protect herself as well.

Overall, Rey is this caring woman with a strong-willed mind and has built a wall around her reality. She isn't one who will open up to people, and doesn't think age matters for anything.
Once a year Rey may have a small break down, her consquences for holding things in, especially the death of her father, something she'd probably never tell anyone unless they really meant something to her.
She speaks, she's not some incompetant female who is shy and risks losing her voice from talking or anything. She comes with a bad side, but who doesn't? Just don't get her mad.)

Powers: Reysha has the ability to produce, fake, manipulate, and just plain, replay memories right before your eyes. She calls it holographic memory projection.
This also means she can see parts of your past, link things together in her mind right before you, and literally show you things others wouldn't be able to.

Background:(Reysha is an odd name. She was given it by her father who told her she'd always be different. It was a shame that he died, was murdered by two people who Rey had never seen before in her life. And to have been so small, it was probably the only good that came out of it, it didn't hurt as bad. Her father hid very well, all of his abilities, whatever they were. He was a very strong man and his powers ranged from reading minds to an extent of supervision.
Reysha's mother had no idea about her daughters' powers, not yet anyway, but neither did Reysha.
One day she went to her fathers grave, something she did a lot recently, and as she broke down, remembering everything the two did together, she found her ability. Right before her eyes scenery changed, things grew older, things were half-a blur.
She was replaying her childhood with her father. When her mother walked outside and found Rey there, she couldn't believe her eyes.
This was how it went, it's how she was discovered, and when Rey turned 21, she was out of the house to live on her own. She lived by her fathers words that she'd always be different, now fully understanding it's meaning. )

Decent description of your characters appearance: Pale, tight skin that accentuates the dark bands under his grey eyes. The sleep bands seem to be perpetual. Has a long, beaky nose and shaggy black hair framing his pointed face. Small collection of scars beneath his left eye. Stands just shy of six feet, and is about 145 pounds.
Powers: Daron is able to control sound. Damn near every aspect of it. From how people hear it, to whether it's even there at all. His favorite trick with this is a low bass sound that can be felt in the bones, causing cramps and headaches.
Background: Daron was originally born in Yugoslavia, before the fall of the Soviet Union. He moved to America at age 6, quit school at 17. For the next few years, things were going well. He had a job at an art museum as a security guard. It was during a break-in when he discovered his powers. The thief died from internal hemorrhaging at Daron's inexperience with his powers, and Daron was fired the day later, though escaping jail. He has lived as a vagrant ever since.
Personality: Daron is, overall, bored of life. There's not much you can do, after all, as a beggar. He fancies himself a bit of a trickster and loves screwing with people. He gets bored easily however, and doesn't like company too much. Also, he is an alcoholic.

Powers: Can feel and see other's fears, Able to plant fear into others minds, and can turn peoples fears into real things (I.E. if someone fears a bigfoot he can make it) these fear beasts only last for about 30 sec.
Background: All his life he never seemed to fear anything or anyone. Then one day he found out why as he could see and feel the fear of those around him. Soon he found he was Fear able to contorl and create fears in others. At first he heard and felt everyone's fear at once but he has learn to quiet them now and only see what he wishes to see.
