The Grassroots Tournament
Round 1: Fabrizio vs Sol

Match Start: June 6th, 2011 @ 9:00PM
Match End: July 5th, 2011 @ 9:00PM

Post Response Limit: 4 days
First Post: Fabrizio

Stage Description:
At night, the cool, open atmosphere of Gxinit's canopies creates an ambient look and feel for visitors. The massive, sturdy leaves certainly hold a lot of weight; it is not likely that players will go crashing through the trees to the ground 80 feet below. Visibility is fine due to the neon glow of the forest. The nearest significant lack of leaves is well over half a mile away; both contestants stand on rather solid ground.

May the strongest grass blade emerge tallest.

How disappointing...

Sol felt his body tingle, the warm sensation of being returned to a physical presence after warping such a great distance. The air was cool, almost too cool and the night sky gave a quite and almost surreal environment for tonight's fight. His opponent was here already but he seemed rather stoic, perhaps he was still trying to grasp onto the reality of his situation. He figured most people here would have issues understanding that what they are doing is real... that these fights are to the death.

Sol took a step forward and looked down in surprise. What was he standing on? His eyes revealed a bright light, one that contrasted the fact that it was night time. There was life beneath him, lots of life. He was on some sort of plant and one that was certainly strong to be able to hold him so easily. This would make for an interesting fight if only Sol wasn't at a slight disadvantage with his power since it was night time. He would have to use what power he had in moderation. Either way, he was ready for his opponent to begin.

Upon materializing Fabrizio was kissed by the cool nightly air. The sensation was quite lovely and distracted him from current objective. A moment basking in cool wonder wasn't too much to ask. He absorbed his new environment as slowly as possible to vainly try to lengthen the moment. Below him was gigantic leaves that served as ground and colored it with differentiating shades of green. They looked as if a child amassed a pile of leaves and glued them together for a school project. There were a few small areas where one could see beyond the leaves and realize how dizzily high they were. Not that he was afraid of heights, but falling was definitely something he wanted to avoid. He than forcefully turned his head to look at something else.

Returning back to reality he gave his opponent a thoughtful look. What was he suppose to do now? Guess he'll introduce himself since the other guy hasn't spoken yet.

“How are you doing on this cool night?” Fabrizio asked nonchalantly. His expression held calm confidence that was accompanied by a relaxed smile.

Sol's ears perked up as he heard a voice. Where there is a voice, there is a source and the source... this man whom he was meant to be fighting, was standing some thirty meters away. That was quite a distance which means that Sol would have to start this off as a long distance fight. Spacing his feet and twisting his right hand downward, Sol called upon what energy he could to create a dull blue flame that licked at his hand. Raising his voice to travel to his unknown opponent he called out a simple,

"Fine."

It was time to work. Bringing forth the flame, Sol let it hover as if frozen in time. Taking precise aim, He proceeded to slither his left hand between the fire to split it into two. The flames would rearrange themselves, one before the other so that Sol's next strike would split the two into four. He would continue to do this as long as he was able in order to create many smaller fires. The power behind them was too weak to do any damage which is why Sol needed to let them "brew" for a bit before sending out his attack. So for the meantime, he would continue his separation until his opponent decided to intervene.

Power grew despite the air's cold and dark night. The strength of his blue flames gathered and with a jolt of energy, Sol warped the essence of his attack into a fiery red. The strength of his flame grew along with the heat but the transfer took much out of the old mage. He would enjoy a nice warm bath in the sun after this to recharge his weary soul, but until then... he would finish Mr. Fabrizio with one quick strike. Thrusting his right hand upward, the many dozens of flames arched into the air, soaring through the night sky. Upon a climax, Sol shifted his hand downward to the ground and his obedient fires followed suit. Soon, Fabrizio would be faced with the torment of fire raining from the heavens. The odds of him dodging the blunt of the attack were still good, but at the rate the flaming balls fell, there would be little chance to get away unscathed. It was time to wait and see how Fabrizio handled this.
