Graphics Tablet Tips? (Corel Painter 12) ( )

Postby MissDred on Sun Jan 22, 2012 11:37 am

So, a few months back, I splashed out on a graphics tablet for myself so I could draw things like this:

On my tablet instead.

I played around with a few graphics programmes and did a few trials and decided I liked Corel Painter the best. My trial ran out and I patiently waited for Christmas and got my parents to buy it for me.

So far, I've just been doing some simple drawings to get the feel for all the tools and stuff:

One of my first attempts:

A request from a friend:

Some fanart for a band that I love:

But I really want to get better. I'd love for any tips and advice anyone might have on good tools to use or anything really. I've found a lot of stuff on-line but I'm always looking for more. :3

What kind of tablet is it?

Really the best thing you can do is practice practice practice until your hand-eye coordination improves.
Also make sure the driver for your tablet is installed, this will allow you to change the thickness and opacity of your line using pen-pressure, similar to what you'd see with a pen or pencil on paper!
Drippin' a little noise in yo' ears. Best wear plugs.

Oh my goodness! You are a great drawer! Are you doing drawing requests?
