Match #11
versus
NO HOLDS BARRED

First post: Sirocco
Restrictions: None.

Please remember to be mindful of the Official Tournament Rules.

  • There will be a 30 day time limit on all matches.
  • There will be a 3 day response time limit on all matches.
  • If an opponent does not show within the first 7 days, they will be replaced.
  • Actions will be voided if the poster can not accurately explain them within the post.
  • All participants will display sportsmanlike conduct.

All matches will take place in a nondescript (and mostly destructible) ring 30 meters in diameter, made of the same flat white marble as the rest of the GT Dimension's buildings. An additional 10 meters of grass extends outward from the edge of the raised ring, finally meeting a 10 meter wall which rises into the stands surrounding the ring. The descent to the ground from the ring is a mere meter, and serves as a clearly defined boundary between the out-of-bounds area and the actual combat arena.

At no point in time are the competitors permitted to touch the ground at any point outside of the ring, or the match will end in a ring-out, declaring the remaining party the winner. Transversal outside of normal four-dimensional timespace (or, at least as normal as the GT Dimension can be) as well as backwards transit on the plane of time will result in the offending party being disqualified.

The stands surrounding the ring are filled with spectators that will have arrived just prior to the start of the tournament (by just a few days). At no point during a match should harm come to the audience, else the immediate disqualification and forceful removal of the offending party will become the primary focus of the GT League staff.

Sirocco yawned as he gently floated onto the circular ring. As his feet softly tapped the ground and his shoes hissed from releasing air through their microscopic holes, he stretched his arms, almost as if he were trying to hug the world. In order to wake himself up, Sirocco gave his cheek a light slap using his right palm, which proved effective. Now more alert and conscious of his surroundings, he noticed the crowd which surrounded the ring, and the noise that they were generating. To an amateur, this would have proved to be quite distracting, but Sirocco had attended many tournaments in his living and afterlife career, so the noise actually gave him a sense of nostalgia.

He quickly warmed up while waiting for his opponent to arrive by carefully swirling the air which engulfed him, attempting to keep a perfect focus on his energy flow and trying to keep the wind as constant and steady as possible. He was paying half a mind to his surroundings, and would not notice his opponent if they were to walk slowly onto the stage. A frontal charge, however, would prove to be a different story.

Heat slowly walked into the arena, puffing on a cigarette. Heat never once took his eyes of his opponent, watching his every move. Learning what he could just by watching him warm up. What an interesting prospect, a wind user as his first opponent. This would certainly turn out to be fun, Heat thought to himself as the crowd cheered at the prospect of the fight begining.

Heat puffed on his cigarette more as he took his stance in the center of the ring. Heat figured he'd be generous and let his opponent have the first strike.

Sirocco finished swirling the wind around him and lowered his arms. His focus increased sharply and his muscles were neither too tense nor too loose. He was in a prime state for fighting, and was already concocting strategies with which to fight his opponent. Immediately, he noticed a cigarette, but dared not underestimate his opponent's stamina, after all, with all the crazy entrants that he'd seen in the lobby, anything was possible. The next objects to catch his attention were not one, but two sword sheaths. This concerned Sirocco, but he dared not show his emotions, or else his opponent would gain a nasty advantage; something that Sirocco didn't want to have to deal with.

His attention was completely on his opponent, who also seemed alert and ready to fight.

"Well then, shall we begin?" the man asked Sirocco. This was an interesting gambit. The man was willing to allow any sort of opening move to come his way, or so it seemed. Sirocco decided to play it safe and replied with a soft, "Sure. I've been looking forward to fighting for a while now. Hopefully, I am not too rusty since taking the month off." Sirocco threw in an attempt to get his opponent to underestimate him, in truth, he had been training up until days before the match.

To kick the match off while minimizing vulnerability, Sirocco bent his knees slightly while crossing his right arm to the left side of his body and swinging it across his body, about two feet in front of his chest. This caused the molecules that had been affected to become displaced. Sirocco fine tuned the displacement and made the front end razor sharp, but this process would be very difficult for the normal human eye to see, as the wind Sirocco was manipulating was clear. He then thrust his left hand forward, and the blade of air shot straight towards the man at a decent speed; fifty five miles per hour was good to start the match off. (OOC: to prevent ambiguity, this technique is called Airblade)

Sirocco immediately watched his opponent as if he were a bomb. He waited to see what his reaction would be, and then he would act based on the man's reactions.

Heat just watched as the guy made his reply, it was a bit to much information for an opening statement. Heat wasn't the type of fighter to fall for a petty trick as that. The swordsman puffed one last time as he flicked his cigarette into the path of the displaced air. Heat had hoped that the cigarette would catch the attention of his opponent while he quickly unsheathed and resheathed one of his blades. The quickness in which this action occured would of appeared as if the warrior was just standing still. In truth though, this action created a much simular effect as what his opponent had done, only wider and much faster than his. The razor wind was about five feet long, traveling at about eighty miles an hour.

Meanwhile, the flicked cigarette hit the first razor wind as only a small portion of the filter was finely chopped. Quickly afterwards the two razor sharp winds collided, causing a small gale of wind to explode, pushing the lit cigarette butt farther forward towards Heat's opponent. Smaller, razor sharp, blades of air shot towards his opponent.

This was a nasty little trick Heat had concocted in the spur of the moment. If things went as he had planned, this air wielder would most likely easily deal with the razor winds, and pay no mind to the cigarette butt. Once this ordanairy looking cigarette would hit the ground, a small explosion would occur at the feet of this man. The explosion would be like that of a frag gernade, sending a concusive force enough to knock a normal man out, plus the debris picked up from the arena floor.

While all this would go on, Heat would not take his eyes off his opponent, prepared for another counter-offensive.

"That wasn't a very quick response," Sirocco thought to himself as he saw the flash of one of the swords that his opponent weilded and immediately gathered large amounts of energy in his feet, "That is about what my maximum normal speed is, but whatever." He released the pent up energy through his shoes and onto the ground, shooting himself twenty five feet into the air like a rocket. At this point, his opponent had made a similar displacement to that of Sirocco's airblade, which was longer and much quicker. At this point, he was glad that he had rocketed up into the air. Sirocco's reflexes and evasive skills were just able to save him from the bulk of the razor winds which emerged from the collision of the two attacks, but one managed to scrape his left knee. The blood was already beginning to emerge from his body, but he paid no attention to the light wound, and continued to watch his opponent.

Sirocco took the time to charge energy in his hands, which began to vibrate. He crafted a ring of displaced air, and using the energy, launched the ring of energy at the ground just in front of Heat at an incredible speed; a whole 120 miles per hour. The initial explosion of sound that was released by the energy was the only thing Heat would hear as a warning, as the fast approaching ring was near invisible to the naked eye, and was completely silent.

If the ring hit the stage, it would likely blow apart a huge hole in it, and send rock chunks flying every which way at high velocities. But his opponent didn't know this, although Sirocco was sure that he'd evade the ring, if he could even see it.

The displacement of molecules, not very easy to see unless one was used to it. In most cases, this displacement would take visable form anyway, but on few rare occasions it was possible to have no visable signs. It was too bad that Heat was already acustom to view molecular anomalies. So Heat knew what was coming from his opponent, but how to play it off as if he did not. There was a simple anwser, the attack wasn't aimed at him, but in his direction ment to hit the arena floor. That was his que, that was when he'd act, the moment before impact. Thus that is what happend, hoping to give off a look of suprise as he did so. Once the sound of the air came close enough, Heat jumped into the air, just seconds before the ground exploded. The bigger pieces of debris, Heat used to climb higher in the air, as he jumped from one to the other.

Once Heat reached the top most rock, all the other rocks stopped in place. The bigger pieces of rock cracked apart, then suddenly all of the pieces shot, not only at his opponent but spreading out in a way to block off any routes towards the ground. Heat smirked as he slowly began to fall towards the ground, his body appeared to be unscathed. A small aura of pure heat surrounded him, protecting him and allowing him to manipulate the rocks to appear as if he was doing it at will. A decptive trick, not fully showing his true ability to his opponent. As he fell, Heat kept one hand on one of his katana, keeping his eyes fixed upon his opponent, to see how he would react.

Sirocco now watched as his opponent broke apart rocks and shot them in relatively small pieces at him. "Strange," he thought to himself as he began to violently spin in a counterclockwise motion, creating a massive vortex of wind around himself which caught and drew in any and all rocks that flew in his general direction, "he is not only able to manipulate air, but earth as well?" Due to the whirlwind, none of the rocks hit the audience, which before the whirlwind had gasped in fear of being hurt or killed. Some of the occupants left the stadium, but most remained. Sirocco pondered what his opponent's powers were as the rocks began to grind against one another and reduce in size within the whirlwind. He figured, due to him being a Guardian of Wind, that the person was either a taboo wind/earth elemental, or a phony, and was controlling the rocks and the air in some other method, and was maintaining an illusion. However, he did not know if either of his theories were correct, and decided to continue to watch his opponent to see if it would yield him any new clues.

Then, Sirocco gradually weakened the speed of his whirlwind, which caused the now puny rocks to drop to the eastern wall of the arena. In response to his opponent's earthen onslaught, he crafted another airblade much in the same motion as the first one, but this time, sent it towards Heat at seventy miles per hour, and made it arc upwards, almost like a basketball shot without the hoop. The displacement came flying down at full speed directly over the swordsman's head, and would rip through his flesh and bones if he didn't move out of the way, and quickly.

Sirocco took a brief second to catch his breath, and recovered after a few seconds of idle action. The whirlwinds sometimes required large amounts of energy, but nothing that would slow him down unless performed quite often in a short span of time.

The feeling of freedom while falling, what a nice feeling Heat thought as he fell, his jacket flapping against his legs. His eyes still fixed upon his opponent, although inverted, he was able to witness all that occured. It was a nice defense in the end, but the counter offense was rather lackluster in Heat's eyes. While the whirlwind was dying down, Heat took the Katana he had in his hand and flung it towards the ground. Heat then proceeded to unsheath his other blade, keeping this one in his hands. Heat than began to spin as he fell, much like his opponent, slowly he began to build momentum. Heat was basicly mimicing his opponent at this time. Maybe by this he'd irritate his opponent into making a mistake.

The newest 'airblade' strike came in contact with the sharpened edge of Heat's very own cyclone. The contact caused a little friction, but the air blade would only enter the vortext passively, becoming one with it. The reason being, the sharpend edge of the cyclone was being created by Heat's katana. At the high rotations, the staight airblade hit the mass of swirling air and was swallowed up by it, dissapating it. Was one of the downfalls to using air as a weapon.

The swirling cyclone that was Heat, landed right on the tip of hilt of the katana Heat had thrown earlier. Upon landing the cyclone shifted from Heat and began to twist towards his opponent. The speed of this may catch his opponent off gaurd as he rested a bit, but it was what laid in side the cyclone that was the real suprise. Pieces of debris, throwing knives, metal and glass that Heat carried on him, ready to jump out at his opponent once it got close enough, though if they strayed too far, they would stop and not harm the spectators.

As Heat's body stopped rotating, the metal, glass, and other debris jumped out at his opponent much like the rock before it. Though some of it stayed, just incase he got caught inside it. Heat, now fully stopped, lit another cigarette and spoke to himself.

Heat: "Everything is in order now, lets see if he realizes it before it's too late."

(OOC: Leaving for New Hampshire after this for about two days. I have notified Heat of this in advance.)

Sirocco wore an almost psychotic smile; his opponent's response was an absolute joke. It took a whole cyclone to block a simple airblade, which had been used as a stalling device? However, Sirocco still took the attack seriously, as he noticed bits and pieces of debris occasionally swirl around the outer edge of the wind vortex. He was also slightly concerned when he noticed that other objects, most of them sharp, lunged themselves towards Sirocco. The immediate remedy required no technique, but a counter-offense which Sirocco hoped would surprise his opponent did.

The first problem to be dealt with was the threat of the projectiles and the vortex. The vortex itself was a no-brainer. Sirocco flew downwards in a backwards parabola shape, making sure to stay at just above stage height. Whilst performing his movement, Sirocco's eyes flashed green, and an crystal on his headband began to glow as a fifth limb composed entirely of displaced wind made itself known. He had located the base of the limb on his lower back, so that the newly formed limb would serve as a tail and a method to block assaults from behind. He then enlarged the limb by channeling a larger amount of energy into it, and used it to halt the advance of any projectiles that were still chasing him.

Sirocco continued to fly in his opponent's direction, but made sure to stay at least ten feet away to avoid any unnecessary hand to hand combat. By this point, he had formed the end of his fifth limb into a gigantic hand, which was now ten feet high, fifteen feet wide, and a few feet thick. The hand was shaped in a "high-five" position, and appeared flat as a wall. It was approaching Heat more quickly than the previous airblade had, as Sirocco was flying while moving it forward simultaneously. If Heat proved unable to avoid the hand, it would close itself around him and successfully grab him, and most likely violently throw him. Of course, simply muscling his way through the hand would not work, as the displaced air proved to be as solid as a brick wall.

Heat smirked, this was just too easy. Heat twisted his body around, exposing his back to his opponent, he looked back on last time.

Heat: "Welp, I believe my warm up is complete, it's time to kick this match off."

As Heat finished his sentence he stepped off his katana, kicking it up behind him. The blade swirled as it lifted of the ground, coming up and making contact with the "wind hand" right at the tip of the sword. Right as this happened, a single word left the lips of Heat.

"Blaze"

As this was spoken, the tip of the sword exploded in a massive fireball. The fireball began to engulf this hand and began to travel the length of it, back to it's orignator. Meanwhile, Heat took the chance to move once the explosion occured, it was more of a precautionary move than anything else. Heat was unsure if that little wind hand would continue it's path or if it would fully stop to protect it's owner. It was little effort to quickly exit out of the way of the explosion, all Heat had to do was quickly run to the other side of the arena, to the right of his opponent.

A devilish grin was now upon his face, everything was going as he had planned so far. His eyes began to glow a dark shade of black, as the air around the arena began to become dense and heavy. The temperature within the arena grew, each breath this air warrior took would burn his lungs. Making it harder and harder to breathe, the air itself was under his will. A nasty trick Heat planned since the begining of this match.

In order to avoid the wall, which if touched would result in a ring out, Sirocco immediately neutralized his current momentum and reversed direction, and landed on the stage. He watched as the man pulled off a peculiar move, which was to attempt to burn the hand which he controlled. To counter the measure, Sirocco stopped controlling the section of wind which was burning, and simply watched as the blazing inferno dropped to the tile on the slightly destroyed stage, as the path of wind had been cut off. An interesting technique, but nothing too curious.

Suddenly, Sirocco noticed that the air was becoming quite warm, almost painfully hot. The first instinctive measure taken was to remove excess clothing. He pulled off his t-shirt with a small amount of effort, and threw it onto the tiles on the stadium. "That's a little better," he thought to himself, "it's not like wearing my shirt will save me from those swords of his anyway." Without warning, his opponent made quite the odd demand, which Sirocco found somewhat humorous.

"I will ask only once, surrender and your life will be spared, continue and you will forfeit your life."

With this, Sirocco feigned a stretch, and then swiped his right hand back to his chin, as if he were actually thinking about the demand. As a result, much colder air that was located outside of the stadium began to blow downward in several areas onto the stage, which began to force the much hotter air that his opponent had spent all that time heating up towards the sky. Sure, the maneuver would take a bit of energy to maintain, but as long as his opponent didn't realize that it was him, it was worth the expenses.

Sirocco then smiled, and responded in a kind, yet confident tone of voice. "Nice crosswind today, don't you think?" He spoke fairly softly, as his opponent was not too far away from him at this point, "I'm going to have to ignore your demand for surrender. I came to fight, not to wuss out. Also, death only sucks if you can't be revived from it, which isn't the case for me. So your threat is kind of empty. Nice try though." He felt the colder air surround him as the hot air began to rise farther and farther away from the stadium. "Let's try this again." He jumped up three feet off of the stage, and crafted another gale force pulse, which he used to blow up a good fifth of the stage with.

"The water's rising, and I know you can't swim." Sirocco teased.

Heat almost let a small laugh as he watched his opponent. It was laughable in Heat's eyes, this guy was just making it too easy for him. Causing the hot air to escape into the sky, it was almost as if this guy was doing Heat's work for him. A devilish smirk appeared on Heat's face, as he prepared his next attacks. With a firm grasp on his katana, Heat made one swip while speaking.

"Mumyo Jinpu Ryu Suzaku"

With those words, a marvelious bird erupted from the sword. This majestic Pheonix of fire beaded in onto the now airborn Sirocco, uneffected by his little gale. This bird had a few special qualities, one being the ability to reform upon being destoryed, only three times though. The other would be once it makes contact, it would explode, destorying any and all things in its path. An ultimate bird of destruction. Meanwhile, Heat moved himself to one of the few remaining safe places on the arena.

As for the heated air, well it still remained under Heat's control. If Heat had truly wanted, he could of forced it to stay on the ground, but this served himself more. After coming to a stop, Heat once again exposed his back to his opponent, and he spoke once more.

"Firestorm"

The sky rumbled and turned a dark shade of red, thunderious booms roared through the sky. Then suddenly, it began to rain, at first scaulding hot water, shifting into pure fire. A deadly storm to contend with, and a fierce bird to fend off. Sirocco had his work cut out for him indeed. As for the spectators, they were all safe, Heat made sure to have the storm isolate it's fury towards the two fighters. However, that didn't mean that there was a safe place for the fighters to hide.

Sirocco raised an eyebrow at his opponent's odd display of language, and the massive overuse of his energy. He was obviously a newbie to the concept of "pacing oneself," and as such, had left another massive hole with which Sirocco could exploit. Of course, this wasn't necessary, as Heat would exploit his own weakness in time, and drain himself of any remaining energy. Then it was all about shoving him off the arena and onto the grass, which was already forty percent destroyed.

He watched as Heat created a decent sized bird from his fire, about two feet tall, four feet wide, and three feet long. Nothing special. "Oh, please." Sirocco asserted above the roar of the phoenix which had just emitted from Heat's sword. To respond to his first threat, he merely rocket boosted downward, then slightly upwards. At this point, he had flown well under the phoenix, which would need to turn around. That would prove to take a long time. Then, Sirocco boosted vertically upward, so that he was about ten feet above his opponent but not directly above, and perpendicular to the sluggish bird of flame. Sirocco knew that the phoenix wasn't going to be easy for Heat to control, which meant wide turns and slow movement, and all of the energy he was pouring into manipulating it was likely draining him by the second. Also, there was the fact that the air particles that were in Sirocco's immediate range had spread out due to him having warmed up fully and been fighting for a decent period of time, plus the fact that he had been cut on the leg early on. This granted Sirocco an unbelievably massive speed boost, roughly equivalent to double his normal speed and agility level.

However, Heat's superfluous and flashy display continued as clouds formed above the two combatants, and it began to rain scalding hot water, most of which evaporated before it could transform into balls of fire, which were not massive. The result was a semi-pathetic barrage of fireballs. A simple measure of displacing air in the shape of an umbrella proved to be highly effective; the solid yet invisible barrier caused the fireballs to roll off and land on the stage below. Suddenly, Sirocco laughed manically as he noticed a familiar and most welcome phenomenon beginning to form. He called out to Heat, yelling: "Say, do you know what happens when you create a weather cell with a warm front over a cold front? I'll show you."

The "phenomenon" of which Sirocco spoke was nothing other than a tornado, it's size being that of a quarter of the stage. It touched down on the arena within ten seconds, being that the cloud was no more than two hundred feet high in the air, and immediately began to rip up the rocks that composed the circular arena, which was now 60% destroyed. It began sucking up the hot air that Heat had so generously created from the beginning of the fight. Cold air ran down the sides of the tornado, so that there were now not one, but two sources of cold air for Sirocco to use, one of which happened to be the tornado.

Immediately, Sirocco applied his energy in the direction of the tornado's rotation using one hand, and hijacked it's course of movement. He made sure to keep the audience safe from the pull of the tornado, while still destroying the stage as efficiently as possible. The umbrella of wind was in Sirocco's left hand, and the tornado was being controlled with his right hand. He first sent the vortex over to the phoenix, which began to get pummeled with rocks from the arena and sucked up. "The sooner this annoyance is gone," Sirocco thought, "the better. Next I'll see what the swordsman does to try to stop me, and I'll take it from there. Or I can just destroy the stage. I don't know, I'll see."

Heat laughed at about the same time as his opponent, the reason being, he had pretty much disregarded Suzaku. Unlike what his opponent had thought, the bird had actually turned around fairly quickly and was already in progress of attacking Sirocco. Sirocco's speed was nothing in comparison to what Heat had faced before, nor nothing Suzaku could handle. Suzaku was truly a maverlous friend Heat had. Yes, it was true Heat had no control over Suzaku, after all, an immortal pheonix hadn't needed to take orders from anyone. Heat was always honored when the beast would arrive after being summoned.

The air weilder spoke to Heat, it was at about this time that Suzaku was behind Sirocco, in wait for a sudden attack. Meanwhile, the tornado that Sirocco was controling, well that wasn't much in Heat's eyes. Though for Suzaku to attack fully, Heat created a look alike by the vortex, so that Sirocco would attack that.

While that was going on, Heat had began to transform the arena floor into lava. This molten rock began to be sucked into the cyclone. Though this left Heat with only the small platform that Heat was standing on, but atleast a battle for control of the cyclone would distract the wind user while Suzaku sprung into action. The flaming bird flew and covered the small distance to wind up being within less that an eighth of an inch in less that a blink of an eye. Upon contact with Sirocco, the bird would end the fight, and with giving Sirocco with little to no reaction time, it would appear to be over.

The cold front which Sirocco was hovering in felt soothing, as compared to every other moment in Sirocco's fight, which was fought in blistering heat. As he directed the tornado towards the bird which Heat had summoned, he began to feel a familiar sensation on his back, as if something very hot was lurking right behind him. The tornado ripped through the bird that was floating in the air, but Sirocco did not see anything happen to it; it merely remained in it's place.

Immediately, two and two went together, and Sirocco's adrenaline and instincts kicked in as he managed to rocket boost to his left out of the way just as the bird attempted to strike. He now noticed that Heat was attempting to melt the stage into lava and was sending it into the tornado. "Silly fool," Sirocco thought to himself as his smile returned, "tornadoes can't carry lava. It's simply too heavy. Oh well, at least he did my job for me." In order to prevent it from being used anymore, Sirocco halted the rotational current in the middle of the vortex, which caused the whole thing to wilt and disappear within a few moments.

Now Sirocco only had two tasks left. The first and most important was getting Heat off of the stage and into the out of bounds area. The second task was the bird, but that could wait, especially since completing the first task would also complete the second.

A devious plan hatched in Sirocco's mind as he crafted a small ball of wind energy in his hand. Unknown to Heat, the sphere of wind energy was capable of extremely powerful concussive blasts should it hit the target from six inches or less, and could easily knock him out of the stadium, let alone the ring. He then formed his third arm wind, which was currently palm up. Sirocco carefully loaded the Sky Bomb onto the hand of the third arm wind, which then switched from lying flat to going into a high-five pose. The third arm wind then thrust forwards towards Heat, and as soon as the Sky Bomb was within range, it detonated with incredible force. Of course, Sirocco watched both Heat and the bird to make sure nothing fishy went down as this maneuver was being performed.

Heat smirked, as he continued to melt the stage, the stage melting wasn't for an attacking purpose, but rather for self-defense. This tatic was only sucessful if Heat had taken the right steps. As Sirocco evaded the bird, much like Heat had figured he would, though he had hoped he wouldn't. What Sirocco did next was something Heat had planned as well. An attack to send Heat off of the small part of the stage, and it would of worked, if Heat didn't know about it. The problem was, without paying close attention to this air warrior, he had no idea how strong the attack would be. If it was too strong, Heat would have to expend more energy keeping himself from going out of bounds. It was a risk he would have to take as a bead of sweat fell from his face. Heat could feel it coming, it was getting close, it was most likely going to be a contact based attack, that was what most people used. So he had to chose the distances in which to protect himself, and Heat thought, not too close but yet not too far. Eight inches, that would be close enough for Heat to be safe. Thus, when the wind ball reached that close, the lava sprung up, attempting to cover the moving ball, but it still went off. The lava that was mixed in with metal, rock and glass, did indeed cushion the blow, but not enough to keep Heat from being blown off of the little peice of stage left. Heat cursed loudly as his body stopped just before the ground. The lava had wrapped around Heat's legs, and pulled him back into a standing postion.

"I really wished not to of shown my true nature so early on in this tourney."

It was true, Heat wasn't an average being, his body was one with fire, able to take on its property at will along with that of lava, a natural by product of fire. Heat had hoped to keep this a suprise for the later rounds, but he had no choice it would seem. Meanwhile, Suzaku had already began a second pass at Sirocco, this time reaching speeds exceeding that of Mach four.

"Hmph, guess if I'ma start showing my tricks, might as well not let the setup for this to go to waste..Inferno!"

A dome appeared, covering what once was the arena stage that was now a pit of lava. It was rather tall reaching fifty feet at its peak, this dome was pure energy, ment to keep the fighters in, and the extreme temperatures from getting out. Those who tried to breach the end of the dome would be incernerater immideitly. The inside of the dome turned a hazy orange color, as the temperatures reached that of one thousand degrees fahrenheit. The worst part, this was just a starting point. This hell would only last for three minutes time, based upon the calculated energy consumption it took, coupled with the amount he had already used up. Not to say he didn't have much left, but rather to be comfortable to proceed onto the next round.

"Now this is more like home, low, comfortable temperatures, erupting lava and exotic birds attacking their prey. Enjoy your stay in Hell!"

Sirocco heard and watched the sky bomb detonate with it's usual massive force, and immediately raised his third arm wind, which had grown to be twenty by twenty feet in length and width, over his opponent with five feet of space in between the two, and slammed it down on top of Heat. He then slammed the hand downward with surprising amounts of speed and force; the hand would make contact with the swordsman/pyro within half a second, and another quarter second would allow Heat to hit the out of bounds area. Sirocco did not wish to kill the warrior, but the amount of resistance he was putting up was quite high.

By the time the hand had come down, the lava had connected with Heat's legs, but he had not begun to move back towards the stage. Unfortunately for him, Sirocco's hand was placed so that the bottom of the palm was just over the edge of the tiny remaining bit of stage, the barren island in the ocean of failure.

However, there was still the threat that was Suzaku. The clouds above the stage had finally dissipated, and the fireballs had stopped raining down, so Sirocco's umbrella was of no use at the moment. To make further use of the solid barrier, he lowered the umbrella so that it covered the angle with which Suzaku would be attacking. Paying half a mind to the bird wasn't easy, but Sirocco knew that he couldn't forget about it, or there would certainly be a rude awakening for him.

Re: GT2008 Round 1: #7 Heat versus #27 Sirocco ( )

Heat smirked as the wind hand came crashing down, causing a wave a lava to lift up. It was just too bad that unline what Sirocco had planned. The evasion of the hand was rather simple, though a little close for Heat comfort. Being one with the lava around his legs was Heat's true saving grace. In the split second it took before the hand came crashing down, the lava around Heat's legs wrapped around him, surrounding him in a layer of molten glass. This tempered glass was one of the flame weilder's specialities, an almost impervious structar. It easily protected Heat from the falling hand, as well as from the ground. Meanwile, Suzaku attcked at Sirocco, slamming into his wind umbrella with the kinetic force of an atomic bomb with intense flames, reaching into the ten thousands degree of temperatures.

Heat then proceeded to call forth the Inferno. After this was done, and while Heat was watching the flaming mass that was the position of his opponent. He figured that the normal energy barrier would not be enough. Thus, using the molten glass and metal, Heat wrapped it around the exterior of the barrier. This served two purposes, futher reinforcements and if by chance his opponent had forced any part of the energy barrier to fail, this outer layer would either fall in or explode outward risking injury on a spectator on Sirocco's behalf.

"If you are still alive. I will give you this warning, whatever you try this barriar is a serves quite a few specific purposes, right now there is molten metal and glass surrounding us, and though it is nigh impossible to seperate, if by chance you manage it. Well, I'll just warn you, if a spectator gets injured, you are to blame, as well as being disqulified from this tourney."

(OOC: A second notice to you, Heat, that my family and I will be on vacation in Cape Cod from this Saturday to the Saturday after, possibly even to the next day, depending on when we go home. I already PM'd you about this, but I will state it again in case you missed it somehow.)

The sudden explosion, which had been accompanied by a huge kinetic force, sent Sirocco flying upwards and towards the stadium simultaneously. He had received some fairly intense burns on the right side of his face, arms, and legs from the split second of exposure to the heat of the explosion, but he wasn't dead yet. Just really ugly, and in a good amount of pain. His torso had been spared due to the wind umbrella which Suzaku had rammed itself into, which meant that his vital organs were unharmed.

At first, Sirocco was traveling at unbelievable speeds into the air. He lost track of everything momentarily, but he had a saving grace. The wind umbrella, which had protected him from the initial blast, was now counteracting the kinetic forces by providing huge air resistance. After two seconds, Sirocco was able to realize that he was flying towards the stands, and applied as much force as his scarred legs would allow him, which turned out to be a fair amount. The effect of the umbrella and Sirocco's efforts to not go out of bounds collaborated with one another and managed to get the job done. The wind fighter had stopped just a few feet short of the wall which surrounded the arena.

By this time, Heat had begun to raise the dome, unaware at the moment that Sirocco had been knocked to an altitude of more than three hundred feet above the stage. Thus, the dome connected, and Sirocco thought he could hear something else happening inside the orange sphere, which had already began to hum with the energy it was emitting, but he wasn't quite sure of what he was hearing.

"He meant to trap me in there," Sirocco thought to himself as he used the moment of tranquility to catch his breath, "so he could have been setting a trap of some sort, or it could just him be moving. I can't say for sure yet, so I have to stay on my toes. Best not to attack the dome yet."

He then noticed that although his face and leg were in swear-inducing amounts of pain, his arm wasn't. He attempted to raise it and move it around, but to no avail. "That's no good." He spoke to himself, now realizing that the battle wasn't getting any easier anytime soon.
