She just shook her head when he woke, commenting on how she hadn't slept. She also decided to let him think that. How could he know that she had gone two days without sleep at times, to fix a Gundam? How could he know, that she had survived the wilderness sleeping two hours here and an hour there? She was as much a campaigner as he was.
I figured you'd want to be fully awake to see the ambassador.
Silently, she added, There will be enough people trying to see Gabe as it is. As they landed, she said nothing, wondering how they could celebrate on the brink of war. Then, her father's words floated across her mind. Even in the midst of disaster, celebrate! If you are alive to do so, celebrate! It is important to remember what you are fighting to live for. She smiled then, her heart warming up to this courageous country.
Despite her lack of sleep, when it was time to exit the plane, Miyumi lifted her bag with her usual ease and grace. Unlike earlier, when she had been fully rested, she didn't stumble at all getting out of the plane, walking through the airport, getting into the car. No one noticed her hold her breath as their bags were scanned on the way out, into the country. The way her katana had been packed, it didn't show up on the scanners. She almost smiled to herself at that, but turned it into a smile for the woman who handed the bags back.
As they got to the hotel, she hoped that he wouldn't question her about her surety in knowing it wasn't General Sin. To take her mind off the nerves, as soon as he was gone she checked her entire room for bugs. Finding five, she grinned to herself and wondered if she should check his. Then, she checked the angle of the obvious security camera. As to be expected, it was angled to see those coming into and out of the room. She knelt on the floor and plugged her computer into the wall.
Fred, I'd like to get the rest of this nervous energy out. Fool the camera for me. A view of the cameras in the room came on-screen. Sure enough, there was at least one she hadn't found. She'd leave that in place, to make them think they were secure. The camera showed the top of her head as she sat. If she had placed the computer on the desk, as expected, they would see every word. She turned it around, and got up. The camera still showed her head there, occasionally moving. Grinning, she started moving her furniture. Once she had an area cleared, she brought out her katana and made a full circle. Perfect. I'll do the ones for tight-spaces, then shower and sleep. Grim will probably be awhile at the hospital. Hmmm, if he gives me eight hours, I'll get four... that will be plenty. Then she thought of something. She walked over, and gave Fred another order- mask the hospital room. She grinned to herself; now they need not worry about anyone spying their conversation. She figured in Sera's state, she may not think of doing that. Finally, taking a proper stance, she began.
