Three years after the events of .Hack//G.U., CC Corp came out with "The World R:3" in an attempt to distance themselves from the problems that had plagued the past two revisions of the world. The official line of reasoning was that they wished to satisfy their valued customers who enjoyed both "The World" and "The World R:2" by creating a version where people could import their old characters and use them once again. The revision was rife with features, both new and old, but one thing didn't change. Three months after its release, players started falling into comas. With public outcry rising once again, CC Corp stuck to it's tried and true response, "An online video game couldn't possibly cause someone to fall into a coma." With rumors of other strange phenomena occuring within "The World" it is up to you, the players, to solve the mystery behind what is really going on in "The World" and stop these strange occurences before it is too late.
Now for the rules. There are the default ones of course, "No god moding, no auto-hitting, have fun, etc." I'd also like to ask people to try to post regularly. I understand that people do have lives away from their computers (I'll be no exception with school starting in a little over a week now.) My final rule is more of a request. My biggest pet peeve is when a person plays a canon character (like Haseo), but doesn't play them accurately. If you wish to play a canon character, go ahead, but please stay in character.
Now for some specifics. You can play as any character type from either version of the world. If you are from "R:2", your skills are more related to your individual skill with a weapon, rather than the weapon itself. R:1 characters are the opposite ([spin fangs] and [spin rasetsu] would offer different skills for example)
There are also some new character types.
Dual Gunner: CC Corp decided to make Haseo's Xth form an actual job class in R:3. You can come up with attacks as you wish. Just remember, the farther you are from your target, the less damage you do.
Dual Brandier: Upon character creation, the dual brandier chooses a weapon class to specialize in (scythe, sword, etc.). They are able to equip two of that class of weapon, even if the two weapons aren't the same (as in a [blade luer] and [blade sun]). The trade off is that they learn weapon skills slower, to reflect the unique natures of wielding two. One advantage they have is that they can customize each weapon separately. (for example, a poison sword and a paralysis sword)
Weapon Master: Similar to the Dual Brandier, this class chooses two separate weapon classes on character creation and gets to wield one of each class at any one time (such as scythe and sword). To balance things out, this class can only customize their primary weapon class. Any customized weapons of the second type lose their effects. They can learn weapon skills from either weapon type, but they can only learn skills from one weapon type at a time.
Adept Rogue (changed): For the most part, the Adept Rogue has remained unchanged, but after they've aquired the maximum number of classes for their character, they can then learn to wield the different weapon types they've learned in tandem (like a weapon master). The difference between an adept rogue who does this, and a weapon master is that the adept rogue doesn't get "dual weapon skills", but can customize either weapon as they please. To use skills, they must switch to using a single weapon at a time once again.
phew....long page for rules. Okay, now for the character sheets.
Character Name:
Player Name (person outside the game):
Character gender(hard to tell by online names sometimes):
Character class:
*Level(between 1-10 please, including canon characters):
(if adept rogue): planned progression: (i.e. blade brandier, twin blade, tribal grappler)
*note* imported characters get to keep their equipment and skills, but they must start at level one again. CC Corp did this to make it fair for newbies and veterans alike.
I'll post my character sheet in a bit, this post is WAY too long.
