Happy Halloween! ( )

Postby Remæus on Mon Oct 24, 2011 1:00 pm

Happy Halloween everyone! Thanks to the efforts of our Designers, we now have a nice pumpkin-esque theme to go along with one of my favorite holidays. I hope everyone stays safe during this season of hauntings, spookiness, and candy!

What are your plans for Halloween? Add pictures of your costume if you've got it already!

I actually freaked out when I refreshed my page and saw the theme. I love it though! Nice work everyone who had a part in designing it. ^^

I am probably going to dress up as an evil nurse with my boyfriend (who will be an evil doctor) and we'll probably head off to gate crash a party Sunday/Monday. I just gotta design my costume and make it, not too much time left though.

Happy Halloween Everyone!

The only suggestion I have for improving this theme is to make the thread title text a slightly darker color, since the brightness of this theme tends to hurt my eyes. Other than that, it's very well done, and I thank you for taking the time to develop and create the festive atmosphere on this site. =)

Edit: I can't find the edit, report, and quote images. Did you make any for them? Not having those in the theme makes it annoying for me when I wish to edit a post I've made.

Raine: I did not notice. I will say the orange background is bright enough that the site is giving me a headache. If it could either be darkened in shade or lightend in shade, byt not in luminosity, it would be nice.

No plans. Halloween is on a Monday which means classes, and I really don't have any where to go to do a costume party anyway. The college I attend will only be doing trunk or treat.

Suggestions as far as I can see, would be just to tone down the orange a little bit like others suggested. It really is very jarring. Also the orange looks very.. red on some monitors... I think the color needs to be closer to the yellow spectrum than red.

Silent Hill Nurse.
I'll post pictures of my and my buddy dressed up later. xDD
Made the costumes ourselves. Took forever.
Anyway, we're going to go to Wal-Mart and walk around, freaking people out. Then buy chocolate. Ha ha.

It's vibrant. o.o

Next time try some contrast. Perhaps next year add a bit more black/greys.

Great full holiday change for your first real deal!

Wearing Fionna from Adventure Time. I'll probably be drinking alone at home. So basically no different from every other night, lol

Holy cow, the new theme scared me when I loaded the page!

I plan on dressing up as the TARDIS from Doctor Who (though according to some people who aren't nerdy- I mean, cool, enough think I'm a building).

Awesome! I myself am going about as a Time Lady. Almost have my sonic screwdriver mark one put together. No sound effects, but it'll look cool.

Funny that Doctor Who was mentioned; I'm actually assembling a Captain Jack Harkness costume for a later date. Halloween will be Sherlock Holmes a la the recent movies, however. My best friend's going as Watson. Cross-dressing for the win, apparently.

I'm going to go as Abby from NCIS. I'll get a photo up probably around late Halloween day. Unfortunately I have class all day since Halloween falls on a Monday. The local club might be having a free night again this year over the weekend, if they do then I'll go to that :)

I still haven't gotten a costume yet, but I was debating just donning my now near-forgotten and extremely dusty work gear. Since I'm now a full-time student I guess it would be appropriate to dress as a scaffold builder with hard-hat, harness, tool belt, and steel-toed boots que no? Might clash with the Edgar Allen Poe-try reading in which I will be participating. Oh the dilemma with which I am faced...what shall I do?!?!

Since the majority of the mainstream costumes for women are a desperate plea for some guy to find them sexy and buy them drinks, and I'm far too rotund for that, I'm embracing my heft by dressing up as the hippo ballerina from Fantasia... complete with hippo mask. If that doesn't scream 'buy me drinks' I don't know what does.
