Harry Potter Next Generation: Trials and Triumphs

It was about six pm on October sixteenth. It was when both Beauxbatons and Durmtrang students would be arriving to Hogwarts in their own way. The leaves had been starting to fall off the trees making an orangae, yellow, and brown blanket sort of looking color on the ground. It was very pretty to see then far off there was a pumpkin patch over by Hagrid's hut with giant pumpkins which made things brighter and more interesting to see. The rain was falling down lightly but shortly started to pick up and you could hear the rain hitting the building.

The rain was also hitting the flying carriages for beauxbatons. The beauxbaton students had flying carriages which was simply amazing and they were a pastel pale looking color of blue and the animals pulling the carriages were drenched with the rain and were now coming into view of Hogwarts. "I can see Hogwarts!" Giselle said excited as ever looking at the old castle smiling widely seeing Hogwarts. Seeing it up from the sky was such a sight she even noticed all the colors of the fall. It looked pretty to her but the rain didn't please her too much. Soon enough they landed on the ground and Giselle was now waiting for the carriages to come to a complete stop. Once they did she opened the door to it but then realized they were at the gate and she laughed slightly then closed the door quickly. She then just remained in her seat not doing anything else. Finally when they pulled up in front of the castle her jaw dropped. "It's amazing!" She said in awe and just as a nice teacher had opened the door to their carriage and she got out first and she nodded her head and thanked the man.

The Durmstrang students were also arriving about this time as well but were a little behind the Beauxbaton students. The ships came out of the water and pulled up to the shore and were soon being let out of the ship walking up to the gates of Hogwarts and after getting approval they continued on and were basically marching up to the doors but stopped as the students from Beauxbatons were getting into the castle first and had shortly followed behind.
The night was already dark and you could barely see anything but walking into the castle you could see the odd torch on the wall lighting up the halls. You could hear the clicks and taps on the cobble stone floors as the students walked through the castle being led to the great hall.

Inside the great hall was where all the hogwarts students were. To make room for the new schools the Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs shared two tables pushed together while Ravenclaw and Slytherin shared two tables and the headmaster had summoned two other tables for the Durmstrang and Beauxbaton students for when they walked in. At the feast Dominique was rather silent and was reading a book while waiting for the other students to arrive before she could start eating. The only the Slytherin's would talk to her is if they were to tease her for being a monster or being flirted with. She brushed them off and stayed reading.

Holli was at her table with the Gryffindors and such sitting beside her best friend Makayla not really saying a word. That was when Hunter came up and sat beside Holli and wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "What are you up too beautiful?" He asked. Holli was honestly scared so she took her fork and then mentally shook her head thinking against it then shoved his arm off her. "Go away please Hunter.. I feel uncomfortable around you." Holli spoke softly staring down. Fred came over and lightly smacked Hunter's head. "Leave them alone pervert." He mumbled and pushed Hunter over and sat between Holli and Hunter.

Just then the headmaster arose from her seat and caused all noise to be stopped. "Our guests have arrived! Now introducing the Beauxbaton students!" She said as the doors opened as the group walked in and found their table and seated them selves. "Now we have the Durmstrang students!" The teacher said as the students from Durmtrang semi marched in and stood at their table until their headmaster was seated and then they sat down. "Now let the feast begin!" The headmaster spoke as she returned to her seat and sat her self down.

Jacob Rosewood-Ravenclaw-Slothful

The rather loud sound of snoring from the Slytherin and Ravenclaw end of the Great Hall could be heard even by the two other houses. Some of them were even staring directly at the back of Jacob Rosewood's short curly brown head as he slept peacefully with his arm swung across the table, and his chin laying comfortable on top of it. Most of the students in Hogwarts, whether in Jake's year or not, should have been used to seeing the 6th year boy asleep."MR.ROSEWOOD."The shaggy haired brunette would tiredly open his eyes, revealing a light shade of brown beneath them that gave him an extremely innocent look. The rather snotty sounding voice belonged to a teacher, one whose class Jake didn't have and therefore didn't have his name registered in his mind yet."Yes Professor?" Jake would reply, lifting his head and wiping a small dribble of drool that had made his way onto his chin whilst he was napping. The Professor would lower his horn rimmed glasses, staring down at Jake with beady eyes before clearing his throat to speak.

"We are IN the middle of welcoming our foreign magical comrades, and you are napping?" Jake would blink several times and then raise his head slightly, turning to narrow his eyes at the Professor before replying in a completely serious tone."I don't think they would mind me sleeping. I mean if I was in there position, can't say I'd want a bunch of teenagers gawking at me while I walk. But maybe that's just me Professor."Jake would shrug back his shoulders in a clearly playful manner despite his serious tone, watching as the Professor's cheeks began to turn a bright shade of red before he proceeded to stomp off and join the other teacher's at the Grand table.

The lazy boy would emit a small chuckle before turning his head to the sound of the large doors creaking open, and the two visiting schools students entering in a lively manner. The amount of talking sky-rocketed as the foreign students began to fill the halls, causing the Hogwarts students to whisper loudly, or just clearly talk amongst themselves. Jacob would turn to glance towards the long Ravenclaw table, watching as his sister craned her neck in attempt to spot anyone who more then likely she deemed intriguing. His usual chuckle would burst from his throat as he continued watching his sister. "Put your neck anymore forward and you'll end up looking like a ostrich sis." Jacob would state in a teasing tone towards his older sister.

Marie Rosewood-Ravenclaw-Shrewd

Marie would let out a terribly deep sigh as she closed her slightly tattered teal colored Transfiguration book with a loud "thump".Several other Ravenclaws and Slytherins near her, seated on the long table glanced up at spunky brunette with a raised brow."What's with the attitude Marie?" Asked Chesa Harbloom, a seventh year Slytherin who had taken it upon herself to sit by her. She was a twig of a girl, with dark red hair with several patches of freckles scattered all over her face, making her look very Weasleyish.Except the Weasleys weren't annoying and didn't have such a raspy and troll like voice when they talked.Marie would roll her light baby blue eyes and set her elbow on the large wooden table in front of her, hanging her head in her pale and nicely manicured hands."Attitude? Not sure what you mean.Pardon me for reading instead of giggling like a school girl because a group of new students are arriving. I'm just so silly!" Marie would shoot the red-headed girl a thin smile, and watching as poor Chesa's eyes began to widen from her rather sharp words."Now be a dear and wait for your pudding hmm?" Marie would turn her head sharply from the girl, not even bothering to notice the now dreadful looks she was passing her.

Of course Chesa wasn't the only person being noisy in the Great Hall today. Every male, female and even teacher was looking positively pleased at the prospect of visitors once again to Hogwarts. Marie was relatively pleased herself, but did they really need to cut classes off early? The tired brunette would toss her head from side to side, making her curly brown lock bounce as she attempted to clear her head of any negative thoughts. She had to keep focused if she was hoping to become a Champion. She needed to do at least something notable during her time at Hogwarts, seeing as how this was her last year and all. If she wasn't chosen as Champion, it wouldn't be the end of the world. Slightly depressing yes, but certainly not enough to put off the seventeen year old the whole year. She did always have her friends to cheer on as well, should they become Champion and not her. Dominique, of course Marie would help out her friend, even though she knew she could handle herself need be. Marie would more then likely have to look out for her dearest and most mischievous friend. Rose Weasley. It was known in all houses that Marie and Rose were best friends, and it was also known that they ( and Dominique) had some of the best O.W.L.S scores in their separate years.

While Marie buisied herself thinking about how to keep Rose out of trouble again this year, the Beauxbaton students would walk in trough the large Grand Hall doors, looking ridiculously gorgeous. What the hell did they feed them over there? Marie would let out a small sigh and and wait for the Durmstrang students to follow afterwards. Within a few seconds, a large group of boys would walk rather loudly inside, and Marie would begin to scan them quickly for any interesting looking ones. As she got up from her seat, straining her neck to look she heard a familiar laughing coming from a few seats down from hers. Her brother, laughing with a rather amused expression on his tan and handsome face."Put your neck anymore forward and you'll end up looking like a ostrich sis." Marie would merely roll her eyes once more."Sleep anymore and you'll end up with ugly dark circles under your eyes." She would shoot him a smile back and then turn her attention back on the crowd.

Lysander Scamander-Beauxbaton-Aloof

Flying had always put the simple yet awfully queer boy into a cheerful mood. However, flying in a carriage with flying horses? He was practically giddy.Going to Hogwarts for the Triwizard Tournament was already such an exciting thing, mostly because he would be able to meet new people, hopefully make new friends. But most of all be able to perhaps win some glory for his family. He knew quite a few people didn't have as much faith in him as he might have hoped, so perhaps winning the Triwizard cup might be a good thing.Might make people stop thinking he's mad, or just plain weird.

As the carriage began to slow down, the fair haired and rather slim boy would take a peek out of the small shiny windows the carriage possessed to catch his first glimpse of Hogwarts.Obviously his mothers words didn't do the place enough justice. She had often told him how large it was, but THIS large? He had never once expected it to be quite so grand either. The carriage would skid to a halt, and someone, possibly a teacher, would open the door for them, extending a hand as several girls popped out. He followed Giselle among others out of the carriage and walked rather quickly towards the castle doors.

When they wandered into the castle, he watched as the looks of his fellow classmates quickly changed from interested, to surprised. The Grand Hall was decorated quite nicely, so nice that even the French students had nothing bad to say about it to his surprise. Lysander would look anxiously around for any sign of his brother, stretching his neck and standing on his toes. He would blink several times before reaching into his pocket and taking out from it a bright orange scarf. Orange was a reasonable color if anyone needed to grab someone's attention, and if his brother saw any person wearing it, it would be safe to assume it was Lysander. After securely fastening the scarf, he would wait for his brother to find him, as well as silently searching for Bonita among his own classmates.

Where had that pretty skinny girl gone off to?

BOONE RAZIEL KEATING

Boone was shining the entire trip there, his light radiating bright enough to replace the sun who'd hid itself behind rows of storm clouds, beams shooting out through the carriage windows. Why would the world ever need a burning, celestial ball of flames anyway if they had Boone Raziel Keating? In his humble opinion, this whole ordeal was absolutely, sensationally, wonderfully, excellently, awesomely, fantastically, marvelously, perfectly, tremendously, positively... good-ly superb! The boy's light blue eyes were so lit up with excitement that it seemed firecrackers might as well have been exploding inside his irregular cranium. And in some ways, they were. Mr. Keating's brain was racing like a greyhound on a track, thought after thought bursting with brilliance as he devoured the sights below him. This was certainly not his first time traveling, no. Actually, Boone had spent his whole life traveling around the world and Scotland (where the acclaimed Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was located) was no exception to this rule. However, never before had he traveled to Scotland in Beauxbaton's beautious carriages, carried by their flying steads, and not but a couple feet away from the lovely Giselle Delacour.

A contended sigh escaped the boy as he shifted his awkwardly skinny frame to get a better look outside, but not without peeking a look at both Giselle and his good friend Lysander. Before he knew it, they were rolling up to Hogwart's already and upon arrival, Boone found himself impersonating Penelope Pitstop, the princess never not in peril. "Well, I do declare! This might be the biggest castle I ever did lay my eyes upon." he cried in a feminine, country accent, batting his eyelashes as if he were a southern broad. Grinning enthusiastically, he leaped out of the carriage and stormed into the Great Hall, drinking in the scenery hungrily while trailing behind Lysander. All these people were terribly exciting. Oh, Boone would have so much fun! He could already tell.

Getting lost in the crowd pretty easily, he searched desperately for the light blue uniform his eyes had learned to hunt by now. He found his comrades in the center of the room, and quickly took the seat on the other side of the table from Giselle. She was reading. "How respectable~" he thought before clearing his throat to put on a hearty, rapsy, city-boy accent. "So, uh... Books, huh? I hearda dem thing 'afore. Ya like books? Me poi-sonally? I'm a fana' sports." he facetiously declared, but she didn't seem to notice, his voice drowned out by the loud commotion in the room and her attention being focused on her literature. Sighing, disheartened as ever, he got up from his chair and started roaming the room as if he didn't have a care in the world and like he didn't currently hear the professors saying "Please find your seats, students. Welcome to Hogwarts. Now find your seats, please."

He sniffled. It was too cold at Hogwarts. His curly-sandy-blond-haired head bobbled about as he searched for someone interesting to chat with.

Abel Bel

“Of course Winston, Hogwarts is known for a certain je-ne-ce-qua. Last Yule Ball was a hit according to anyone who was there at the time. Sadly they do not have the same Headmaster as they used to, but then again Durmstrang did not keep its own Headmaster for long did we?” Idle chitchat, quite literally akin to having one’s eyes gouged out.

Abel had the unlucky misfortune to being in the company of a one Hubrius Winston, to whom he was sure to keep on a last name basis. The man was not particularly witty, nor were there any remarkable features about him, either in personality or face. He was standard issue, and when I say issue, I mean in every possible meaning of the homonym, for Abel had been trying the entire ride to either excuse himself or dismiss Winston. He was about to have another go.

“Well I must admit Winston, you have been a pleasure to speak with, and..oh what is that over there?” Winston turned his head, and Abel did not hesitate is swiftly careening out of his seat and making his way in a flash to another section, hiding behind his brother’s sleeping form. Abel peeked over Cain for a moment, and was satisfied to see that Winston was only just turning his head back, and was quite dumbfounded at finding Abel gone.

Amazing, simply amazing, all Abel had to do was resort to a childish method in order to escape Winston, especially amazing when he had tried to verbally escape in the politest way possible. What were the odds that the answer was actually simple rather than complex? Just his luck, ah well, the trip was almost over anyway.

”I did warn you to stick next to me while boarding didn’t I?’ Came the clear voice of his brother, to whom he would never admit was actually beloved.

“Pretending to sleep is much worse than actually being asleep Cain.” His brother was still in quite the laid back position, though his voice held no drowsy tone to it. “And I tried, but you know how pushy Durmstrang brutes can be.” He spoke more quietly, so as to keep conversation between the two of them while the ship roared with other higher voices.

”Don’t be such a pussy, just shove them out of the way for the love of Merl-….did we just stop?”

Abel sighed in relief, he hated this method of travel, as it was unnecessarily stuffy, thank goodness they were finally at their destination. He got up and fallowed closely behind Cain, who had no issue clearing a path for himself, though Abel did dully note that Cain was careful not to shove ladies, another of his subtle hints at gentile behavior.

Finally when they had a radius of a couple inches between bodies, Abel heaved another sigh and looked to his brother’s wandering head, who was ascertaining the emptiest spot he could find no doubt. “Your turn to fallow me dear Cain, this way.” And he looped his arm around the crook of his elbow, forcefully pulling him towards the Slytherin table, more specifically towards an acquaintance of theirs, Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy.

“Scorpius, did you get taller?” Abel smiled his polite smile, and nodded a short bow at Scorpius, his comment on his height was meant in truth, but honestly it matter little when he was still shorter than either brother.

“Be polite Cain say hello.” He ordered as Cain yanked his arm away from him in a huff.

Cain Bel

“Don’t get so close to my face.” A squealing girl proceeded, to, well, she proceeded to squeal in fright as Cain suddenly spoke. She retreated quickly with her giggling friends over the seat, the seats which were set up[ as back to back benches did little to give people room. Particularly they did little to give Cain room, and he was becoming steadily more agitated at the attention he was getting. A Girl had just finished failing at a dare from her friends to get close enough to the sleeping Cain to give him a peck on the cheek, and while other guys might have found this cute, Cain did not. He was pretending to be asleep so people wouldn’t bother him, and here were annoying girls bothering him because he was asleep. Surely the world and its reasoning could not be so cruel?

And yet undoubtedly he was having a much easier time than his brother, who suddenly appeared with a slight gust of wind in the seat in front of him. Idiot didn’t even know that the trip was almost over, but then again maybe he just couldn’t take it anymore? ”I did warn you to stick next to me while boarding didn’t I?”

Honestly, it was a simply enough thing to do, especially with his brother’s tendency to cling to him like some sort of sissy. He could have just done that and not bothered to deal with the people he hated so much. He had to wonder if he secretly enjoyed torturing himself.

“Pretending to sleep is much worse than actually being asleep Cain.”

’Says you’- Cain was not one to respond much when his brother quietly berated him for his rude actions.

“And I tried, but you know how pushy Durmstrang brutes can be.” Abel meant verbally no doubt, but he was going to go on pretending he meant physically, as pretending to not understand what his brother meant was an amusing pass time; a tease that continued on from birth and no doubt till death. Besides, offering simple answers brought Abel down to earth at times, and offered the other side of things, which tended to border on practicality rather than politeness.

”Don’t be such a pussy, just shove them out of the way for the love of Merl-….did we just stop?” they did just stop, and it was about time too, in fact the trip had been quicker than expected.

Cain got up and stretched, using his tall and sturdy form to push through the wave of people, he could feel Abel closely trailing behind him.

People just moved out of the way for the most part, though Cain was sure to go around the ladies, no sense in shoving them, that would just be heartless; the boys on the other hand were surely made of tougher stuff, and if not they’d best learn young anyway.

His head turned from side to side as he examined the grounds, and they made their way into the castle, and impressive sight to see actually. The great hall was exactly like it sounded, great in size and decoration. He was admiring the scenery, instead of looking for a place to sit like Abel believed him to be doing. Luckily Abel had that part covered, he said something that Cain barely heard, and found he was being half dragged by the arm with Abel to the Slytherin table. Where he grunted in reply to Abel’s demand at saying hello.

William Harrison Smith

Will let out a small sigh of relief as the carriage touched down on the grounds of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Despite the storminess of the weather, it had been a relatively pleasant flight, despite the fact that Will had ended up in a compartment of overly talkative French girls. The problem, in Will's mind, arose from the fact that the flight had been so smooth. Too smooth in his opinion. There'd been absolutely no turbulence and little sound other than the patter of rain on the carriage or that of distant thunder. And while Will had gotten used to many things of this strange world he had inheirited, flying was not one of them. He found the lack of vibration and sound from the missing engines immensely disconcerting. Standing up, he pocketed the book he had been reading in side his blue, silk robes and strode confidently towards the door, holding it open for the girls and then following them outside onto the Hogwarts grounds.

Looking up at the castle through the drizzling rain, Will didn't even try to suppress the massive grin that now spread across his face. He was back. After all the years in Korea and then in Italy and at Beauxbatons, he was finally back to where it had all started for him. He was back at one the the few places he called home, and one of the even fewer where he had actually lived.

"But it is so ugly! Are they actually going to make us stay here all year?!" Exlcaimed a girl standing near Will.

"Looks ain't everything," Will stated simply scowling at the girl, Cecile Durand, who scowled back in return. While Cecile was a pretty, if somewhat short, girl, she and Will had never gotten along well. Cecile opened her mouth to retort, but Will was already off, heading in out of the rain and into Hogwarts itself. He resisted the urge to come to attention when he passed the school's coat of arms and followed the rest of his school mates. He quickly spotted his old friend Holli Longbottom and gave her a friendly wave and a smile as he sat down at the table that had been set aside for the Beauxbatons students, taking a seat next to one Giselle Weasley who was flanked on the other side by Boone Keating. Hopefully Giselle wouldn't mind too much.

Makayla Wood

Makayla sat watching in curiosity as the students from the other school when she saw something move in the corner of here eye. "What are you up too beautiful?" That was Hunter Finnigan, who sat down next to Holli, Makayla's best friend, uninvited and threw his arm around her like they were in some kind of a relationship. Holli stiffened, Please don't faint Makayla thought to herself, but then shoved Hunter's arm off her shoulder.

"Go away please Hunter.. I feel uncomfortable around you." Holli stated softly, looking down.

"Leave them alone pervert." This voice came from Fred Weasley, a Gryffindor like Hunter, who smacked Hunter on the head and forced his way between him and Holli.

"Thanks," Makayla said with a smile to Fred, before turning her attention to Holli.

"Are you okay?" Makayla asked, giving Holli's arm a light, friendly squeeze.

James sat at the Gryffindor/Hufflepuff table, dark hair tossed casually about his head as though he had just rolled out of bed and a cool sly smile on his face. He watched the females of the two schools enter the hall and dropped a wink to a few of the more 'worthy' girls, in his opinion.

Holli was at her table with the Gryffindors and such sitting beside her best friend Makayla not really saying a word. That was when Hunter came up and sat beside Holli and wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "What are you up too beautiful?" He asked.

James looked down a few seats to see Holli, a pretty though quiet Gryffindor, looking very uncomfortable under Hunter's arm. As far as James was concerned, Hunter was barking up the wrong tree. Far more advanced in flirting than Hunter, or so he thought he was, James knew Holli would never be won over by flirtatious words like that.

Rox walked quickly down the hall, Hogwarts uniform skirt folded so that it was easily two inches shorter than it was supposed to be, and slipped into the crowd of students coming into the Great Hall, a smile of mischief on her face. The princesses of Beauxbaton would have a not so pleasant surprise later... She laughed at the thought but then realized that someone was looking at her. Glancing to her side she locked eyes with a tall and rugged looking boy from Durmstrang, "Look any longer and I'm going to have to charge you." She said with a raised auburn brow, but her lips were pulled into a coy smile as though she was daring him to say something. Before he could, however, she dashed off to the Gryffindor table just as Fred smacked Hunter in the head.

"Oi!" She said, shoving Fred to the side so she could side between him and Hunter, "Hands off. There are only so many guys at this school that I'm not related to and I don't want you damaging one of the best looking!" She said with a laugh, turning to look over her shoulder at Hunter, "Bothering some unsuspecting girl, are you?" She ventured, sure that Hunter was flirting with some prude of a Gryffindor that had no sense of humour and that Fred had, as always, come to the rescue. Not that she didn't adore her brother, she certainly did, but Hunter was pretty fine.
