It was just after sunset when Artemis entered the great hall for breakfast. She had eaten earlier having been brought by her mortal mother to the school earlier in the day. Artemis was a half vampire and completely amazed she'd gotten into the school. She had been going to Hogwarts before but her Mother thought it was time she got to know others of her kind. And it prevented her family from getting upset. Her father had died the previous year and her uncles were starting to get restless since she was the current heir, chosen by her grandfather at birth to inherit the family estate but she would inherit her mother's land near Glastonbury Tor so it was complicated. She wasn't your average vampire anyway, having no interest in blood especially not human blood.

When she had been attending Hogwarts it was under the condition that she use an experimental potion and that she hid what she was. She supposed her move to this new school was partially prompted by the fact she had been getting more nocturnal and slightly more sensitive to sunlight. She settled down at her House's table with a sigh. She was the first one into the Great Hall so far probably because she'd been up for ages. Her mum had made her get up well before noon so they could get school supplies and get her settled before her Mum had to go back to Hogwarts where she was a teacher. She wished she could've stayed at Hogwarts but she supposed there were advantages to being here. She wouldn't have to hide as much but she would still not quite belong. Her long curly red hair was escaping from the ponytail she'd put it in earlier and her eyes were shifting from emerald green toward gold. She could feel fangs lengthening but she didn't fight it like she usually did. She just couldn't seem to control her shifting tonight. Of course that wasn't unusual for a metamorphageus.

A few minutes later, she heard footsteps signaling that 'breakfast' was about to begin. She sighed, uncertain of her reception by the vampires who resided here. She watched as teachers took their spots at the head table and students found their way to the house tables. The three tables weren't as long as the ones at Hogwarts but there weren't as many vampires in the world as witches and wizards. And there especially weren't as many magic using vampires as there were human magic users in the world. There were only a couple of schools though in the entire world for vampire children. This one only accepted those with the ability to use magic since it mimicked Hogwarts quite a bit.

(Basically the plan is that there's a school similar to Hogwarts except for Vampires. And that Artemis has been taken out of Hogwarts and thrown to this new school as a half breed vampire. That could be good or bad. There are three Houses, I've decided. Night, Blood, and Power. Artemis was sorted into Night)

(Great idea! I'll suggest it to other people!)

Angelika looked up at the gates of her new school, the moonlight shining down upon her black hair and pale skin. The young grass snake around her wrist raised it head, and slide smoothly up her arm, barely making a noise as it slithered up the black velvet of her long-sleeved gown. Angelika came from a family of traditional, elegant vampires, and she dressed to show it. Her dark hair cascaded down her back, and her eyes, currently white, glowed lightly as she looked all around her. She held out her hand to her right side, and a case appeared next to her. Her eyes fixed on the school, she walked up the wide pathway. A tiny sliver of crimson slid down from the corner of her mouth, but she wiped it away with one black nailpolish-tipped finger. She walked through the door, and looked around her. "Nice place," she mused to herself, her voice low, and smooth, like the whisper of satin across skin. She heard the distant sound of footsteps, and heard the distant murmurings of "dinner", so she closed her eyes, envisioned a dining hall, and appeared outside some doors. Sheopened them, walked in, and looked around, her white eyes darting. She saw another girl, but she had an odd scent. Angelika sat at an empty table. The snake, a vivid green line across the black of her high-necked gown, settled comfortably next to her jugular, and went to sleep. Angelika settled herself in the seat, and waited for the girl to make the next move.

(I'm not sure which house to be in; maybe blood.)

Marie had hung to her Mom long enough she decided. It was time to explore. It was her first year, and her mom wanted her to have a nice year.

Marie's long blonde hair bounced with every step. She was a full vampire and hated the people who her parents associated with. They were all annoying and stuck up. She'd rather hang with her old friends, the ones her Father claimed were only peasents or halfbloods. She sighed, she missed them.

She saw a long door. How in the world did she end up here? She often did that; she'd get lost in her thoughts and the next thing she knew she was somewhere different.

She shrugged and went in. She saw two girls sitting next to each other by themselves. Her green eyes lit up. She loathed crowds. She skipped over to them. "Hi! My name's Marie Anna Louise Makar, of the Makar Vampire household." She had been taught to say this. "But everyone generally calls me Marie, which is weird cuz I like Louise better, but if you call me that I might not answer cause I'm not used to it-Oh crud, I'm rambling. Sorry!" She had a weird tendency to ramble.

She stuck out her hand. "Pleased to meet you!"

Angelika raised her white eyes up, the snake woke up and raised it's head as a girl, rambling enough to bore a mortal history professor, arrived, and stuck out her hand. She stood up, and shook it. She might as well be nice. "I am Angelika Katerina Alexis Ivanov, of the Ivanov Vampire House." her accent was a strong russian, but easily understandable. She held herself well, so she ensured her family's good name would not be tarnished by something as silly as her not standing properly. She was like royalty back homein Russia, and she would damn well show it. The green serpent, Sonia, slid off her collarbone and onto the girl's shoulder, smelling her carefully.

Marie giggled at the snake. "Wowie that's an awesome snake! Is he your familiar? I love him! Wait, what if it's a girl? Oh gosh I'm sorry!" She only moved her mouth during her whole monolouge, afraid that if she moved the snake she would bite her.

She clenched her fist as the snake's tongue tickled her neck and giggled.

"Oh my gosh that tickles!! Golly."

She sniffed loudly, bit her lip, then yawned very big.

"I'm sorry, I woke up early.I hate waking up early, don't you. Oh, I'm rambling again, I only do that when i have nothing to say."

She giggled again.

"She doesn't bite. And, yes, she is something of a familiar. She only bites on command. Sonia." she added sharply, and the snake tensed, and leapt through the air, from the girl's shoulder to her own ivory one. She flicked her headslightly, and her hair covbered Sonia perfectly, the green lost in the shimmering blue-black.

Marie nodded and sat down near her. "Well...I don't have a familiar. It would be awesome to have one though."

On that note, she stopped talking and just swung her legs back and forth.

She started thinking of animals, which lead to wondering about a forest, and somehow that lead her to thinking about...

"I see trees of green, red roses too, I'll see them bloom for me and for you~"

She loved singing...but her mom didn't like her singing.

'I wonder if breakfast is soon? I'm so hungry...'

Angelika raised one eyebrow when the girl started singing some ridiculous song about roses and green things. "Breakfast shouldn't be long. Im not really hungry." she flashed her fangs with a grin. "I ate on the way."

Marie shivered when she saw the fangs. "Okay! Well...we were in a rush and I didn't get anything."

She rubbed her stomach. So hungry!

She looked up when more students came in. "Finally!"

Angelika looked up, and saw a student she recognised. She raised her hand to get his attention, and a tall vampire with piercing green eyes, high cheekbones and shoulder-length black hair walked over with a smooth stride. He bowed gently, but not too low. "Angelika." he said, his accent russian. She inclined her head, and held out her hand. "Alexsandr" she sad, her eyes locked on his as he took her hand and lightly kissed it. After their exchange was over, he looked, and saw the girl next to Angelika. A girl with long blonde hair. He inclined his head. "I am Aleksandr Piotr Mikhail Nidinsky, of the Nidinksy line." He had a strong, piercing gaze, which her kept focused on her during his little speec. To be honest, the whole 'act like royalty' thing bored him more than he could imagine, but he could put up with it.

Marie nodded, blushing slightly when she saw him kiss the girl's hand. She got up and curtsied. ""Hi! My name's Marie Anna Louise Makar, of the Makar Vampire household." She smiled at him and sat back down. She avoided his gaze after that; his eyes unnerved her a little.

She looked through the crowd, not really recognizing anyone. She sighed. This was gonna be a long year.

She turned to look at Angelika and Aleksander for a bit. "So...you to know each other well? Or is it just, ya know, business buddies?" Her father and mom had many "business buddies", friends that were only friends publicly, while privatley they would hiss scathing remarks to each other. Some people she knew were only business buddies, others...well she never seen them in private so, she didn't really know how to classify them.

Aleksander and Angelika shared a grin. "Aleksander's father manages my father's property in St. Petersburg. Also, the Nidinsky line is a branch of the Ivanov line. We are cousins." Angelika explained. Aleksander nodded, and turned to watch the steady but thin trickle of students walkig in the door.

Marie nodded. "I don't really have any relatives. I think you guys are sure nice!" She smiled and bounced in her seat.

Her mom was an only child, and her Father had disowned his own sister because his father had cheated on grandmother with a human, resulting in Aunt Rin.

Aunt Rin was a halfblood. That's why Marie loved to make friends with other people besides purebloods. Halfbloods were more...emotional! She giggled and nodded to herself.

"So! Do you guys know what house you'll be in? Mom was in Blood; so was Father. I think they're hoping that for me, but you know-" She shrugged, "things happen."

Angelika nodded all through the girls speech. What house? Her and Aleksander shar5ed a look, looked at Marie, and spoke simultaneously.

"Power."

Marie giggled. "You know you guys sound like twins! I once knew a set of twins, but they-" She gasped slightly when she saw her mom come through the door. She shut her mouth and looked at the ground. Her mother hated it when she talked too much.

She sat perfectly still, watching her mom nod slightly and leave. She hated this; her mom loved to check up on her all the time. She watied until everyone came into the hall. "So...what do we do now?"

Aleksander started chuckling when Marie said they were like twins. Angelika shot him a glance, but he only chuckled harder. She slapped his arm lightly, and, he just dissolved into silent spasms of mirth. She rolled her eyes, and looked at Marie. "We're not twins. We're blood triplets, but Alexis doesn't seem to be... Oh, there she is!" She waved, to get the other vampire's attention. This vamp was very different. She was a redhead with grey eyes, easily mistaken for a human. Angelika tried not to roll her eyes when she saw her cousin/blood triplet's t-shirt. it was a red one, with black writing on the chesty, which read, 'warning. this kitty has claws'. she chuckled, shaking her head. Alexis was like Marie in the way she acted. she didn't like tradition, and she hated high vampiric society. Alexis ran over, ignoring the odd looks people gave her, and gave Angelika a huge hug. Angelika smiled, and squeezed her back. Alexis plopped herself down next to Aleksander, and he gave her a one-armed hug.
