            "Blue... Purple... Green... rhinestone... Où c'est!?"

            Bandannas were scattered across the floor of the Ravenclaw girl's dorm. Each one was a different color or design, some enchanted so the design would shift, or so it would seem to sparkle (even in the dark). As more flew through the air, landing among the scattered stack of the others that had already been discarded, the 16 year old girl's voice seemed to get even more frustrated, her French accent thickening. For some reason, she had started out her little search thinking it would be easy to find a specific bandanna in the trunk that held her rather vast collection- but, as she was beginning to realize, she was utterly mistaken. By the time that half of the cloth contents had the floor basically covered, she was ready to give up. It was only when she sat back, about to flick her wand so it could clean the mess for her, when she groaned.

            "I'm so stupid." As if it were a wall, she thwacked her head a few times with her wand before sighing and flicking tipping it toward the mess. "Accio bandanna!" As if it had been waiting for her to say just that, a red-brown bandanna separated itself from the others, shooting straight into her hand. Hastily, she tied the soft square of fabric around her head, holding her curly, red hair out of the way of her face. The bandanna that she had worked so hard to find was enchanted to say in dancing, sparkling letters, "Beater Babe."

            When all was said and done, she had to cast a second spell to clean up the res of the bandannas, but was on her way out of the dorm, finally. Down in the common room, it was almost as empty as the girls dorm had been. The hallways, though not much of an improvement, did happen to have a few students milling around. Sparrow pulled her robes around herself a little tighter, pressing her lips together as she silently cursed the cold weather and how horribly the castle kept it out, in some parts. It wasn't that hard to heat up a hall or two, was it? Perhaps it was.

            With a sigh, Sparrow finally reached the Great Hall. Not much could be said for a December Friday like this one, besides that it made the Ravenclaw beater wish that her school robes were a little thicker. But that would just have to be something she would have to endure, she supposed.

((And yes, all the pictures are of the same girl (for once >.> ). Hehe. Figured I'd make a cool little layout for my posts XDD ))

Haka sat slouched forward with his chin resting in his hands. He had arrived in the Great Hall when it was completely empty nearly two hours earlier. Having his pick of the litter, he had slinked his way past the Slytherin table and took a seat at the Ravenclaw house table. He never liked sitting with the rest of the Slytherins because of how close their table was to the Entrance hall doors. Everyone that entered to eat would pass by their table. Haka hated that.

So there Haka sat, uninvited, almost completely hidden underneath his robes's hood and pair of mirrored lens sunglasses. He sat alone infront of a bare plate. The Slytherin seemed asleep, or at least in a state of semiconsciousness. His mouth was partialy curled in a sheepish-looking grin. The metal frame of his braces glinted slightly against the nearby candlelight and the rays of sunlight pouring through the Hall's windows.

And just as a thin bead of saliva stretched its way from Haka's mouth, down onto his plate, he sprang to life.

He shook his head, sending his hood rippling to and fro, and groaned. Haka looked up and down the Ravenclaw table briefly, before reaching down to his backpack. He unzipped it carefully, pulled out a large pair of headphones and zipped his bag close. Neatly embroided in bold red thread were the letters 'M U D B L O O D' across the front of his napsack. The Slytherin first year snapped the headphones oversized cups over his hood, presumably over his ears, and stuffed the wire down his collar. Electronics didn't work in Hogwarts. But that didn't stop Haka from wearing his headphones or his digital watch.

Aside from the electronics that were useless, Haka usually brought only his wand with him. It was rare for him to show up to class with the required books, or even a quill. Well, Haka didn't even own a quill. He prefered pens or pencils and only used a quill if a teacher gave him one. Even then, he didn't scrawl down much. But his bag had some heft to it. He had his Charms textbook with him, along with his wand, a few scraps of paper and a pencil. That wasn't anything like him.

Comfortable again, he smirked, and then resettled himself so that his chin lay pressed into his palms.

Elle hurriedly pulled a brush through her hair, still in her scarlet and gold quidditch robes, having decided to get in as much practice as possible. In other words, she was showing off to her team, and showing the other houses what they were facing in Gryffindor's seeker. It hadn't been the smartest of idea's, considering it was cold and a bit windy, it had started snowing just before she saw what time it was. She changed quickly out of her slightly damp quidditch robes and into her warm, dry school uniform, the former thrown on her bed along side her goggles and gloves. She'd put them away later.

She had her pouch full of wizard money already around her neck, tucked underneath her shirt, just incase she forgot it later on in the day. Ella picked up her bag; a black backpack with gold and red stitching, her Quidditch number embroidered onto the front-most pocket, and an embroidered snitch, enchanted so that it would zoom around the straps of her bag. It wasn't extraordinarily heavy, she had her quills, her textbooks, some parchment, some ink in an unbreakable bottle, and other various bits and pieces.

She darted down towards the Great Hall, expecting to be be late, but was shocked to find that she was early. Ella tapped the watch on her wrist, frowning. 15 minutes fast. She made her way over towards the Gryffindor Table, having to pass by the Slytherin and Ravenclaw tables. She couldn't help noticing a Slytherin sitting at the Ravenclaw table, and not only that, but was wearing a pair of... what were they called again? Headphones, that was it. What was he doing sitting at the wrong House Table, and wearing non-functioning muggle equipment?
Elle shrugged, taking her usual place with her house table. She just couldn't get some people.

I'm screaming I love you so

But my thoughts you can't decode.

Lily walked over to her vanity and brushed her hair thoroughly. She smoothly ran her fingers through it. Tangless.She smiled lightly and stoof up. Wrapped her robe around her body and walked into the stoney hallway. It wasn't over crowded, so it was fairly quiet. A few people stared at her and some waved. She ignored them. She walked into the cafeteria. It was filled with all the houses. She walked over to her own House Table. She sat there looking around.

Lily reviewed spells in her head over and over so she wouldn't forget them in case she forgot them. She tried to be an over-achiever, but wasn't very succesful at it.

Eris Calliope Wakefield

Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was a slightly chilly Friday in December. The 16h to be exact. Eris stood, panting a bit, outside. The Slytherin girl had gone for a long run through the school grounds. Only, it wasn't just running. It was free running. She loved the feeling of jumping and leaping over obstacles while she just ran for the joy of it all.
She currently stood beside the Whomping Willow, far enough out of its reach that it could not harm her should it decide to take a swing at her. She was contemplating how to get around the tree without getting hurt. The cold had begun to penetrate her running clothes, and she needed to get moving to build up some more heat before she froze. Sighing, Eris decided to just go around the tree this time. It was far too cold to have to deal with the tree today.
Not long after she had passed the old Willow, she reached Hagrid's Hut. She did some somersaults over various items lying about in his lawn just to avoid having to run around them. She made her way back up to the castle, keeping the same pace up the hill. It was tiring work, but she did it almost every day. You got used to these things eventually.
It wasn't long before she had reached an entrance to the school. Slightly out of breath, Eris made her way back inside the building. She was greeted by a few who were in the halls, but it seemed that most of the kids were still in their rooms. She was a morning runner, so it wasn't like this was a first for her.
She took the long way back to the Slytherin common room. Upon arrival, she muttered the passkey to the room, and made her way inside. There was maybe one other student in the common room, but she payed them no mind. She continued to her room, where a few girls were still asleep. She frowned at them. 'God. These kids are lazy...' Though, it was still pretty early in the morning.
She took her time getting dressed into her school uniform and robes, putting on her makeup and some jewelry, and making sure that she looked just perfect. By the time she was finished, there was only a half an hour until she needed to be down into the Great Hall, so she began her decent there. She carried a black messenger back over her shoulder that was simply embroidered with her first name in Green stitching. Her books resided in it, and the weight of the bag would cause her skirt to begin to ride up her thigh every so often. Whenever she noticed, she would pull it back down the way it was meant to be, and continue on her way.
As she made it into the Great Hall, she made her way over to her normal spot at the Slytherin table and took her seat. There still weren't that many people in the hall, but there was at least some that she could talk to. Sighing, she began a conversation with one of them.
"He’s like fire and ice and rage.
He’s like the night,
and the storm at the heart of the sun...
He’s ancient and forever.
He burns at the center of time
And he can see the turn of the universe.
...And he’s wonderful.”
              Not paying much attention to who she sat beside, Sparrow took her place among the Ravenclaws. The Griffindors and Slytherins flanked the long table, some of whom were glaring back and forth at each other. It made her feel quite pleased that her house didn't have to worry about such bitter rivalries. Such inconveniences would have probably made the thin sixth year lose her appetite completely- not the best of possibilities, especially if you were already as tiny as Sparrow was. But, small as she was, she had quite the appetite. Not long after she sat down, her plate was already topped with enough food for two or three. She'd been eating like that since she'd started playing quidditch, though she'd always had a fairly good metabolism. She had no complaints; being small made her faster, and she was quite strong, as well.
              She was just digging into her breakfast, trying to ignore the cold by focusing on her sausage, when she saw who was sitting directly in front of her; a Slytherin. Her fork lingered by her mouth as she chewed, slower than usual. What was he doing? Why wasn't he acting like a Slytherin, who usually avoid almost every other house at all cost (because, of course, most of them could afford any cost, literally). Personally, the French Ravenclaw had nothing against Slytherins. It was just a little odd, to her.
              Somehow, she found herself watching him, curious. She was never the type to thing ill of anyone, especially those she'd just met, and she never really meant to be rude- some of her old habit's from her 'perfect daughter' days just never wore off. And yet, though she didn't realize it, she found herself staring at the boy with her breakfast forgotten.
              Chewing her lip, she kept wondering about him. "Je pourrais regretter ceci..." she muttered to herself before clearing her throat and speaking up in English. "You're a Sly'z'erin, yes? Most Sly'z'erins wouldn't be caught dead at any table but z'ere own... Nice 'eadphones, by z'ee way." A small smile crept onto her face as she lifted a single eyebrow at him, almost challenging him (but in a teasing way).
              She wasn't bothering too much with her accent; at least, not this early. She hadn't even taken her ADHD medication, yet. In fact, she could hardly remember which pocket of her robes she'd put the small tablet in, that morning (or if she had at all). It was almost shocking that she could pay enough attention to notice the seventh year Slytherin across from her, in the first place. Most likely, it was the fact that it was so out of the ordinary to see that made her able to focus this much, so far. Maybe she could even keep it up.
              Maybe.
Haka recoiled slightly at the words. He slipped his headphones down to his shouders. This tightened the fabric of his hood around his head so that its shape was a little more discernable. And as Sparrow spoke, even with his headphones off, it seemed to take Haka a while to realize who or what was talking, to him. He titled his head lazily side to side, sweeping his gaze across the Ravenclaw table.
When he did finally peer over, directly infront of him, the shades he wore reflected the red-haired Ravenclaw like mirrors. Two miniature funhouse versions of Sparrow mimicked exactly what she did. Only flipped, horrizontaly. He seemed polite at least, not interrupting her once. When Sparrow finished Haka remained quiet for just a few more moments. Maybe he still hadn't realized who was talking. Or maybe he was ignoring her. But then he replied, "Green doesn't suit me. You'd think the talkin' hat knew that."
Haka grinned stupidly and tilted his gaze toward the table with all the staff. He turned his head back at the Ravenclaw girl. "I don't think I've noticed you before. You're not a first year.. or at least you're not in any of my first year classes."
"But you're as small as uh- I mean, as big as most of them. Heh" He chuckled and smiled again, but this time wider, so that his braces protruded past his pale lips. "Oh, right." he added in a matter of fact sort of way. "Now I'm supposed to go; Ravenclaw sucks- 'cause uh.. Slytherins are- better?" Haka sputtered, half laughing, half trying to gulp in air. His goofy-looking smile grew and grew.
"Seeeee?" he nearly hissed in a mocking tone. "That's nothing like me. Besides," Haka coughed, clearing his throat. And in his best imitation of rich and snooty Slythern, he droned, "I'm a poor, dirt-veined, muggle lover." He paused and peered over to the Slytherin table. The Slytherin first year's smile shrank a little and he muttered, "Yup. That's what a real Slytherin would probably say."
            Sparrow's grin remained in place as she watched the boy, who apparently had trouble with matching voices to their owners. She had to bit her lip to suppress a small giggle. When he finally seemed to see her, she waited for him to respond, which took a little longer than it would have with most people. As he spoke, she took a small, slow sip of her coffee, enjoying it's warmth as she considered his words.
            "You are quite right," She nodded when he was finished, putting down her coffee. "Green is not your your color. You would do better in some'z'ing warm." She smirked. "But z'ee hat usually knows best. per'aps it saw z'at you were cunning, or some'z'ing." She knew what he probably thought of the others in his house, and what they likely thought of him and everyone else. But she knew that there was always a reason for where everyone was placed, when it came to houses. And, despite his apparent disdain for the slithery house, she could kind of see why he'd been put there.
            His other statement, though, made her pause, blinking for a moment in surprise. "A first year? Vraiment? But you must be at least sixteen or seventeen." She murmured,taking another sip of her coffee. "And I'm not small- or big, I guess. I'm, as z'ey say, 'fun sized.' Z'ere's a difference." She nodded, as if it were the most true thing in the world. "And it is z'at... I'm more fun."
            Sparrow's smirk grew, again, as she chuckled. "Z'at's a good try, but most of z'ee time, Sly'z'erins just ignore anyone who isn't a Gryffindor... Unless it's a 'ufflepuff first year." she dropped her voice, leaning towards him as if it were some sort of secret. "Z'ose are free game for all. And as for z'ee insults... it's mostly just z'eir way of making z'emselves feel more important z'en z'ey are. Compensate for what z'ey have z'at's smaller by making z'ere egos bigger and heart smaller, by comparison."
            Quickly, Sparrow reached into her pocket, as soon as she was finished talking, to pull out a tablet of her ADHD meds. She popped it swiftly into her mouth, taking a sip of coffee to wash it down. She smiled back at Haka apologetically, shrugging. "Have to take stuff for ADHD, in z'ee morning. Heh."
[[It was fun to read, too xD I like how she said Slytherin, I'm not sure I wrote it xD]]
Lily turned to one of the girls from her History of Magic class.
"Yes?"Lily looked at the girl.
"Well, I was wondering if you knew anything about Snidgets?" The girl looked nonchalant about it,
"Which kind?"
"Golden,"
"Oh, yes, lots about them, they're the rarest, round, long, gold, red jewel shaped eyes, very good flyers, too! They almost became extinct from wizards, because thier eyes were so beautiful and prized, and the Snidget sancutaries are world wide, and instead of the golden snitch in Quidditch they used Golden Snidgets!"She smiled. The girl looked amazed.
"How can you remember that?"
"I study"The girl looked dumb founded and then turned away after she mumbled a thanks.
Lily did it again. She shrugged it off and continued eating.
(Yes, everything Lily said is true from Harry Potter books xD I'm such a nerd don't worry right now she looks like a Mary Sue, don't worry, she'll get worse :)
