Lol, sorry, I didn't get a chance to see this post. But that fact aside, I'll give you the quick guide to getting connected with mIRC.

1) Get mIRC and install it. Then open it. Don't worry about the registration thing that pops up when you first open it. You'll be able to get past that anyways.

2) Something will pop up with some fields for you to fill in, like "Real Name", "Email", "Username" and "Alternate Username". Just fill those in with whatever, but make sure to put your username in the correct field. Then click OK.

3) Then you'll be on the status screen. Here, you can type things in. To connect to the server we're on, type in /server irc.surrealchat.net

4) Hit enter and connect.

5) Once you're connected, type in /join #GWing and you'll be set, ready to go in our chat. Also, you customize more things on mIRC from there, like the font, the background, all that stuff. Just poke around a bit or ask questions if you have 'em.

There's also a complete guide to connecting to IRC as well as an IRC roleplay schedule that you might find of interest.

Other clients that don't require downloads include Mibbit that you might find useful, for when you can't be on your own computer.

There's a guide to XChat and GWing available as well, if you choose XChat in specific.

RolePlayGateway is a site built by a couple roleplayers who wanted to give a little something back to the roleplay community. The site has no intention of earning any profit, and is paid for out of their own pockets.

If you appreciate what they do, feel free to donate your spare change to help feed them on the weekends. After selecting the amount you want to donate from the menu, you can continue by clicking on PayPal logo.
