Rachel Berry was happy to finally be out of Lima, and in New York City, since it'd been her dream for almost forever. She finally attending a preforming arts college, which she'd had her heart set on doing forever too. In that aspect of her life Rachel had it pretty good. But outside of school...things weren't going as she'd expected. Her dads had helped her with getting an apartment, and had even helped her with the rent up until a couple months ago. But without their support, coming up with rent every month was hard. Not to mention all the other necessities like electricity. Since Rachel was at school, or working on something at home for it, she couldn't get herself a very demanding job. And non-demanding jobs didn't exactly have the best pay, barely enough for her to get by as of now actually.

And that is why she had to look for a roommate. Then she could have help with rent again, and she'd be doing a good thing by giving someone else a place to stay. And Rachel actually liked that idea. So, she put out an ad since she didn't didn't know how else to go about finding one. Of course she didn't use her actual name, just as a precaution. Instead she used Barbra Love, a name that she'd creatively come up with herself. She figured that using her middle name for her fake first one was just fine. Luckily for her, her search ended quickly. After only almost a week or so, Rachel got a call from her future roommate, and after exchanging a couple more, everything was set for this other girl to move in. And that day just happened to be today.

It was saturday morning at the moment, since Rachel had requested that this new girl move in during a weekend for pretty obvious reasons. Rachel wanted to be here when she arrived to help her get settled in, and establish necessary ground rules. So saturday morning was just perfect for her. All she could do now was wait for her to get here, however so impatient she felt at the moment. There wasn't much else she could do...

Quinn sat in the driver's seat of her car, staring at the apartment block in front of her. Her new home. Ever since Quinn Fabray had left high school, she moved to New York and got signed into a top modelling agency. And now that's what she did for a living and she loved it, it made her feel so good about herself. And not Quinn had just got signed onto a brand new TV show, as her modelling director found out she could act, and Quinn loves her jobs at the moment, and is clearly happy with her life. Apart from the fact that she needed a place to live.

Quinn turned the car engine off, grabbed her handbag and got out of the car, pulling her car keys out as she did, locking her car after she had gotten her suitcases out. And she headed into the apartment block, pulling her suitcases behind her, her black heels clicking as she walked it. She was wearing a red dress with a black belt around the waist and her blonde hair was straightened and swayed slightly as she walked. She soon found the apartment and she knocked on the door.

Rachel jumped when she heard someone at the door, and quickly stood up from the couch where she'd been watching TV to pass the time. She ran her hands down along her skirt to straighten it out as much as was needed, before walking to the door, and it took a lot of self control for her to keep a normal pace because she was pretty excited at the moment. Why wouldn't she be? Rachel finally opened the door, smiling big. Her smile faded some though almost as soon as she saw who stood before her now. It wasn't out of disappointment...well maybe just a little, but mostly she was just surprised.

"Quinn? Quinn Fabray?" she couldn't help but ask. Rachel just stood there for a minute just looking at the girl. She almost couldn't get herself to do anything for that period of seconds actually. She had so many questions that just wanted to pour out, but, they could wait for a little bit. So finally she spoke, "Um. Come in. I'll take you to your room and then I can show you where everything else is." Rachel said almost absentmindedly since she couldn't exactly turn her away. Especially now when she was already here. She started deeper into the house slowly walking to what used to be the spare room, but would soon be known as Quinn's room. "Close the door behind you." the brunette instructed as if the girl weren't already going to do it, hardly making an attempt to look back at her.

Quinn's eyes widened when she saw Rachel standing there, and it took all her effort to keep her mouth shut and not let it open in shock, like a goldfish. "Yeah, that's me." She muttered, running a hand through her straightened hair, clearly surprised. "Alright." She nods, closes the door and follows Rachel, watching her retreating back as she pulls her suitcases after her, trying to be quick. "Nice apartment." Quinn offers a smile as they reach her room and Rachel opens the door and Quinn smiles, stepping into the room to put her suitcases on the ground, before turning back to Rachel. "It's been a while, hasn't it?" Quinn asks, choosing her words carefully before stepping forward to give the girl a small squeeze of a hug. "I know we didn't part on a good note, but I want to push past that and be friends." She said, quietly.

"Thank you." Rachel replied after Quinn commented on the apartment. She figured that it was a good thing that she liked it, given she was to be living here. She then led Quinn down a short hallway, opening up a door on the left for her. The room consisted of a bed and dresser already, since her dads insisted on her having an extra bedroom set up, just in case. And she was definitely glad that she'd listened to them now. Rachel almost jumped when Quinn spoke next, not having expected it, "Yes, it has." she managed to reply before she was given a little hug, blinking in surprise of that too. She smiled at what Quinn said then, "I do to. I've really always wanted us to be friends...it just never happened." Rachel informed. "But we've only seen each other now for a few minutes, and you're already so willing to basically forget everything that has happened between us, and are asking to be friends? Not that it's a bad thing. If anything it's the opposite, since we'll be living together. Is that the reason you want to befriend me now?" she added.

Quinn glanced down at her feet, before glancing back at the brunette. "Look, I'm not asking you to forgive me or accept me or whatever. I just..want you to know that I'm different to how I was in high school..was sort of, and I'm trying to move on and being friends will be a good thing for us." Quinn nodded at her, fiddling with her belt. "So..friends?" Quinn asked before she glanced at the door. "Forget about that for now..I want to hear about your life." Quinn smiled softly at the girl.

"Okay..." Rachel agreed almost skeptically. But if Quinn was willing to listen, she was more than happy to talk. "Well," the brunette started, walking over to sit on the edge of the bed and look up at Quinn, "I moved here about a week after graduation since I got accepted into this...this college that I go to now. Since there wasn't any school over the summer my dads came and helped me pick out this apartment, and bought furniture for me and stuff. Then after they went back home they even payed the rent while I looked for a job, and after I found one they still helped since I couldn't make very much, because I couldn't get a very good job with the limited amount if free time I have after school. But just recently they stopped, and I had to try and take care of it myself. It got to be too much after a while, and I couldn't really do it by myself anymore...so that's why I needed a roommate. And now you're here, and things can get better again." she explained before giving an almost thankful smile. "Sorry that was so long," Rachel appologised, "but now I want to hear about your life." she said, smiling a little bigger.

Quinn smiled at her. "My life? If you want." She laughed, softly. "Well as soon as I moved her I got signed into a modelling agency, and I did that for a few months but now I'm also going to be on a TV show, which my agent found for me." Quinn grinned. "And..there's a catch.." She frowned. "They need another girl for the show." Quinn trailed off, pretending to be upset but really, she was hinting that they wanted Rachel.

Rachel couldn't help but be just a bit jealous of Quinn...it was just too hard not to. "That sounds pretty...pretty good." she commented somewhat quietly before falling silent for a few seconds. "What is the show about? Have they already found another girl?" the brunette decided to ask, trying to hide the hopefulness in her voice. She thought that maybe she would try and audition, even though she wasn't nearly finished with school. But if she got this role, whoever it was, she might not even have to worry about school anymore...

"It's sort of like Friends. But just cooler.." Quinn shrugged, before she raised an eyebrow at Rachel. "They need a brunette. So I told them about you, and..they want to see you." Quinn smiled softly at her. "It is okay that I told them about you right?" Quinn asked, hoping it was.

"No you didn't..." Rachel said in disbelief before her smile started getting bigger. "Of course it's okay! Why wouldn't it be? It's not Broadway, but it's almost as good!" she said excitedly before standing up to almost throw herself at Quinn. "How did you... Why did you though?" she asked, no less excited than she'd been in her last statement.

"Because your talented. And they needed a brunette. So..who else was I going to suggest?" Quinn asked, reaching into her wallet to pull out a business card. "There you go and try not to explode with excitement." Quinn teased slightly, glancing at her phone as a song started playing and she typed back a reply. "And I just told the casting director that you said you'd like to try for the part." Quinn smirked, standing up, wrapping an arm's around the girl's waist. "Do you have coffee?"

"This is all just happening so fast..." Rachel said happily as she looked down at the card. "Do you know when they want me to come?" she asked before nodding at the coffee question and starting out of the room, gesturing with a hand for Quinn to follow her out to the kitchen.

"As soon as possible." Quinn nodded. "Filming has to start as soon as possible." She told the girl, following Rachel, but not before grabbing a bag and taking into the kitchen. "I brought some food..because...I felt like it." Quinn nodded at her, empting the bag. "Because I can't eat fruit anymore.."

"Okay. I'll try and get there as soon as I can." Rachel assured with a smile as she started some coffee. "Well, here. I can put it away if you want." she offered, grabbing for some of the food before stopping to look at Quinn, letting her head tilt slightly to the side, "Why can't you eat fruit?" Rachel asked curiously.

Quinn smiled at Rachel before she shrugged. "Something to do with fruit sugar levels." She frowned, folding the green bag up into a small square, putting it back onto the counter, before she bent down to slip her black heels off, flexing her feet once she had taken them off.

"What can you eat then?" Rachel asked as she started putting the food away, walking back and fourth from the counter to where the proper place for the food was. "You just got shorter." she noted on one of her trips back to get food from the counter.

"Most other food." Quinn nodded, and she laughed. "That's because, I took these off." She picked her heels up to show Rachel, before putting them down again, twirling a strand of blonde hair around her finger absentmindly, smiling at Rachel.

"Well that would make sense," Rachel replied with a little giggle, "I'm glad to know that I'm not going crazy. I'm much to young for that." she finished, putting the the last of the food away before going to lean against the counter across the counter from Quinn. "Not that I expect that to happen ever. My life will be too important for me to go crazy..." she half-mused before quietly returning Quinn's smile finally.

Quinn smirked, walking around the counter. "Just a warning, you have to audition with a cute guy." She winked, giggling, before relaxing agaisn't the counter. "Pretty much the main leads on the show, are all cute. Just another warning." She added, giggling.
