Hello. I'm new here, am slightly overwhelmed, and so I thought I'd start with a simple introduction before trolling through posts.

My name's Jason Carney. I'm here because I'm eager to meet folks to talk roleplaying with. I've never free-form roleplayed or roleplayed-by-post, but am eager to try. In terms of my favorite style and setting, I like traditional sword-and-sorcery fare with a horror spin to it.

Other stuff. I'm a novice fantasy, science-fiction, and horror writer (nothing published) and am eager to make the acquaintance of similar creative types. My favorite writers are H.P. Lovecraft, Jack Vance, Robert E. Howard, Fritz Leiber, and, more recently, I've been enjoying Patrick Rothfuss and Joe Abercrombie.

I'm Sato, the resident forum lurker. This is a pretty big forum, so if you have any questions on where anything goes or what it does, feel free to ask! I'm almost always around with an answer.

Head on over to the Role Play Academy and poke around there a bit! It's a place full of articles, discussions on theory, and generally helpful things related to play-by-post roleplaying.
