I'm Yeoman, I picked the username because it embodies some of my ideals. A Yeoman is an old term for a 17th century farmer who owned his own land, as opposed to working a lord's land for a meager living. They where the very image of self-reliance. The term can also be applied to a member of a voluntary militia, and as such the name was given to some of my favorite units in Age of Empires 2.

I came across this site after leaving another roleplaying forum for reasons I'd rather not discuss. I simply found it with Google. I've roleplayed a lot in the past, always over forums and never tabletop games. However I find myself less and less interested in roleplay recently and more fond of writing short-stories or poems. Some of my favorite kinds of fiction are scifi, but I do appreciate fantasy as well. One of my favorite authors is H.P Lovecraft, and my favorite poets Edgar Poe.

I enjoy computer programing and playing online games like Minecraft when I'm not doing homework, sketching, or writing. Besides that, I'm not really skilled at much of anything. I'm pretty capable of handling myself in the wilderness, though.

Anyway, greetings to everyone. I plan on mostly posting some stories and poems every once in a while, and maybe participating in a roleplay if I get the itch.

Hey there, Yeoman! :P Nice to meet you. I'm Sato, one of the longtime members here at RolePlayGateway. Great to have an experienced writer joining our ranks here! We're one of the largest and most active text-based roleplaying websites out there on the net, and we love seeing new faces!

Guh. If I had a penny for every person I've met who plays Minecraft, I'd be rich! Someone bought it for me, and in all honesty, I get more enjoyment out of exploring all the levels my friends have tinkered with and seeing what their imaginations have created, more than I enjoy trying to fumble through the crafting table. I'm sure you'll find a crop of users here if you were looking for someone to play the game with.

So! Go ahead and post your stories and poems in the Creative Realm, which is a neat little section of the website roped off specifically for sharing original works of that nature. The more activity we get in there, the better, so don't be afraid to dive right in!

(and with that the goblin showed up once more still not knowing what any of this roleplaying was about but ever so willing to welcome someone here again, saying "...so welcome to roleplaygateway human, just think of me as a friend who shows up from time to time...", whereupon the goblin took out a red stained carpet never quite sure if it was blood or lipstick upon it, where looking at it, changed his mind putting it back pulling out another from his pocket, and then said "...nah, a green carpet more homely don't you think...", as he then waved his hand across the carpet producing a coffee table with real filtered coffee in an iron pot, and the finest homemade cookies, some plates and two cups, smiling "...you'll join me won't you, as we do so lavish attention upon those we find interesting...")
