I'm new to this board, but not to role-playing: I used to be into roleplaying a lot more a couple of years ago, but kinda stopped when I started college. I've realized how much I've missed it, though, and I need something more interesting to write than a philosophy paper on whether or not science vs. faith is a false dichotomy. So, I'm here, and hope to get involved shortly. :D

I'm a college sophomore myself, so I understand how it goes. I'm glad to have RPing to fall back on when things get slow .. but then again, sometimes things don't get slow.

Anyways, hey! The first thing you'll want to do is get your first ten forum posts, and unlock your inbox. Check out this thread to hear a bit more on why and to get some more links on where to be posting to get yourself started!

After that, I'm pretty sure you can figure things out on your own, if you're familiar with how forums work. If you need any help on how roleplaying itself works here on Gateway (that system is a bit more specialized) then go ahead and ask anyone around here! We're a friendly bunch.

Finally, don't forget to check out our Rules! There's only a few of them; I know it's boring to read through, but these are the standards that our community holds itself to - and you're one of us, now!

Just dropping by to verify what you probably suspected on peering into the OOC chat room: We're all mad here. I think it was Jean-Paul Sartre that pointed out with his play No Exit that hell can be aptly defined as proximity without intimacy--the ultimate in "familiarity breeds contempt."
