Hey there zerr0max! Welcome to RolePlayGateway! Don't be shy, dive right on in!

Anyways, I'm Sato, one of the long-time members here on the forum. If you're pretty new to roleplaying, then don't worry! This is a great place because we challenge you to gain more experience, just as much as we encourage you and give you tips! Head on over to the Role Play Academy and check out the articles, discussions, and essays on theory. It's a great place to swap tips and tricks with your fellow RPers!

Bring friends! Haha. I love hearing when users refer reach other.

So! If you have any questions about how anything here on the forum works, please don't hesitate to ask! It can be sort of a scary place to dice right into, but just poke around and you'll be fine.

Hope to hear from you soon!

So, quick question. Well, two actually. I have been looking around a little on the forums a bit and I was wondering, if I want tips on how to run a game on here where should I go to find them, or to talk to someone?

Second, I have run games in person, but never online. How different is it?

I don't know where I should be asking these questions, so I figured I would start here and hope someone could point me to where I should go.

First question: You can go to either the RPG Design or Role Play Academy forums. First is more centered around how to make/run a good game, second is equally concerned with running (Game Mastering) and playing.

Second question: Well, first, you'll want to write everything down. Unlike with tabletop games, people don't usually block out time in their schedule for roleplaying, and stuff has a tendency of happening that prevents regular meetings. Thus, you'll want to know who's where doing what to whom at all times, because you never know when you might get together again. The second thing is that the emphasis here is on telling a story, rather than any hard numbers to quantify a character's abilities. These waters quickly get rather murky, and exploring them is not for the faint of heart. (I should know, I've been there.)
