A good number of the character types you can be are up. I will fill out the rest of the stuff for characters later, but I would like everyone to at least take on one character class. So if someone is a warrior we cannot have two warriors running around until all the classes are full.

I'm excited to see how you make this genre your own. Count me in.

question though, are there magic type classes? and if so, what game/book/movie/etc. will it be like?

Here's what I had in mind for magic classes

Magician Series:

Magician- Do not test the elements! The specialize in magic, perception, and agility. They are weak in defense, attack, and health.

Necromancer- My presence just screams pure evil. They specialize in magic, health, and perception. They are weak in defense, agility, and attack.

Summoner- Hundreds of contracts to choose from. The specialize in defense, magic, and agility. They are weak in attack, perception, and health.

Priest- May the saints protect and me of course. They specialize in magic, health, and attack. They are weak in perception, agility, and defense.

Beast Tamer- All the world's animals will be mine! They specialize in attack, magic, and defense. They are weak in health, perception and agility.

Tactician- Battle plans are vital for friendship. They specialize in perception, defense, and agility. They are weak in health, magic, and attack.

Copy Cat- Whatever you do I copy too. They specialize in health, agility, and defense. They are weak in magic, perception and attack.

That is about all that I have on had at the moment for this in terms of magic users. Oh, actually there's more to this.

Magicians use basic elements of fire, water wind, and earth.

Necromancers use dark and shadow magic.

Summoners summon unique monsters. I don't want any Carbuncles or other summoning creatures from other video games and such. Go find a picture without them in it.

Priests use light magic and healing magic.

Beast Tamers can control monsters up to their level if they successfully weaken or defeat it. I'll provide the monsters.

Tacticians use skills to boos the attacks of those they are in a party with. If they are not in a party they can boost their own temporarily, but they are not considered the best by gamers in this capacity.

Copy Cats can copy the skills, stats, and equipment of those that they fight. They can have up to two avatars saved on their character that they've previously fought and defeated. So if they beat a warrior and a ranger they can use those skills, but only when they change to either of those specific classes.

Kayso, I've decided to make a summoner, and I'm working out the kinks in his character sheet, but I had a couple more questions, just for clarities sake.

1. the summoning contracts. How exactly does it work? by that I mean, do we get one familiar-type summon that levels up along side us in game? or do we get one summon "contract" that relates to a specific type of creature i.e golems, dragons, etc, etc? or is is more along the lines of each summon creature in the game has a contract attached to it and if we obtain it we can summon that creature (provided we have it's blessing)?

2. summoner tactics. how exactly do summoners act in a battle? Do we summon our creature(s) and then stand back? Do we take staff or sword or weapon of choice and jump in along side our summon(s)? Do we get magics other than the initial summoning? either to augment or buff or otherwise effect our party and/or summon(s), or in a purely offensive/defensive sense, either barriers/shielding/minor healing or minor elemental spells?

3.non-battle magic. Are there spells that either work outside of battle as well as in or are purely non-battle magic? like illusionary lights/sounds, levitation, invisibility, voice throwing, creating fresh water, magically inscribing symbols or words, or a myriad of other little things?

that's pretty mush the gist of my clarity questioning. I eagerly await your response. =^_^=

For Summoners:

1. Summoners get one type of creature they can summon that is capable of evolving into what they choose. A summoned creature gains levels like their owner and gets a new ability every five levels. Every ten levels they have the option to evolve into a new creature of your choice. Summoned creatures and owners share the same experience from kills so their experience points will be cut in half.

2. Summoners battle along aside their summoned creatures like Beast Tamers could. Their powers only relate to themselves and making their creatures stronger. No one else in their group can be effected by their abilities unless they are a summoner themselves. Summoners are allowed to use their magic to invoke attacks through their creatures, but otherwise fight with a regular weapon unless they somehow use their abilities in connection with their summoned creature to make themselves better.

3. There is no non-battle magic which summoners can use unless their creature comes with the ability to teleport, fly, etc. Give your creature at least one ability outside of battle that can help the group out in some way.

What type of things can an engineer build? This also seems like that new show Called Level-Up except reversed, instead of fighting outside the game they fight inside the game, which in my opinion is more realistic xD

I haven't thought much about the Engineer class but what do you think they should have? Also I didn't take any of these ideas from Level Up! consciously, I don't even watch the show.

I knew you didn't take anything from it it just has some similarities XD. I'm currently looking up Engineers within games.

Team Fortress 2: Turrets, Healing, Teleporters
Maplestory: Giant Robot Armor
Guild Wars 2: Grenades, Gadgets like Net guns
Dungeon Fighter Online: Timed Robot Bombs, Big Robot Ally, Bombs, Grenades, Camoflouge, Sentry Turret

You know... I was thinking a giant robot would be nice for the role play, but maybe you could go with the net guns. Better yet, maybe using both would be best...

That said is there anyone here who knows how to fix the role play's main image. There's nothing there and I tried to insert something earlier, but it hasn't shown up there.

How many skill and stat points do we start out with?

It's in the rules...

Every level one character starts off with one hundred stat points and depending on their class gets +2 or -2 in each area they can put their stats into.

This simply means that you can use 100 stat points in attack, agility, health, magic, defense, perception. But depending on your class you have to subtract 2 or add 2 stat points from whatever your class's strengths and weaknesses are. Here's an example:

Basic Class:

Attack: 50+2= 52

Defense: 20+2= 22

Agility: 10-2= 8

Perception: 10+2= 12

Magic: 5-2= 3

Health: 5-2=3

This I know is ridiculous for a balanced out character, but the character gets in the end 52 Attack, 22 Defense, 8 Agility, 12 Perception, 3 Magic, and 3 Health. Talk about a poor heavy hitter, but that aside that's how it would work in terms of putting in stats for a character.

-raises hand-

I completely understand every stat a Mech needs except for perception, I mean you have to be blind to not see a robot twice your size and explosives everywhere xD

EDIT: Nevermind Mechs have to be able to spot enemies aswell.

You could also have a some kind of shrinking suit you know... It would make you incredibly tiny and hard to hit and stuff. That said you'd not be see able either.

I know there's an eight year difference between us, but you sound like an intelligent person. I believe it shall be fun role playing together. Since I am the maker of this forum, which kind of character class should I be? I'd love to play a magic user, but if this role play gets enough players I know that those will all be taken up rather quickly.

Your character looks good. It would be nice to of you to do a couple things, one, add in stats for your character, two, put in a picture of your mechas or describe them in more detail, and, three, make sure to put in the numbers for your stats. I would have told you to drop the Gatling Gun skill, but I think you added in a long cool down option for it being a weakness. By the way, the hacker may attempt at any time to hack your character's teleporter skill so he can use it himself or stop you from using it. I'd be careful with that skill... Just kidding, or am I? With that said your character looks pretty good.

Eventually you would hit 0 in some stats, would you go negative?
