The moment Zephiris had left the premises of the secret room, the walls closed in a dramatic manner and the only hint there was a door to an unknown place was the sound, it had made upon locking itself from the outside world. Miranda who stood behind it returned to the room at the end of the winding stairs as she took her seat once again. The light exchange of words that had occurred between her and Zephiris repeated in the depths of her mind. It was not something to be completely mesmerized about however, such a conversation was hard to come by in the insipid academy. Thus, she truly appreciated good dialogue when she can encounter one.
Leaning upon her chair, she closed her eyes as complete darkness enveloped her sight. Her body seemed to be very weary nonetheless; the mind was still wide awake to matters that are really of her concern. She wanted such dreary thoughts about the family, ambitions, greed, magic and such to just fade away. So, she may be allowed a semblance of peace that she truly desired the most. However, it was quickly shattered when a voice echoed within the silent room. A voice filled with coldness and the edge of madness, one that would hear it will crumble to a horror unknown.
"Why waste time in such a mundane life. You know what you are born for."
Miranda opened her eyes of aquamarine that reflected an ethereal form which was hard to distinguish. However, it was no stranger to her as she simple sat there without any expression upon her icy facade. She had seen such ghostly form so many times in her lifetime. The being before her was the ability that had been forbidden for her to use and enhance. Nevertheless, they did not take to account that it had the mind of a living creature. The result, it would do as it pleased similar to now.
"No. I do not. If, you please. I would want to have my rest before classes start."
Her voice had no emotion upon them as she returned in closing her eyes to imply her need of sleep. She could have left her sanctuary for her dormitory room. Although, it would be tedious walking the hallways with all the despicable and repulsive students that prowl around. There was no mercy or even an ounce of kindness in her bones towards those ridiculous people. Laughter distracted her from further thinking about the worthless beings within the Academy; she quickly opened her eyes to show her reaction. It had come from the eerie form before her.
"Your hatred is very tasty! I told you. Destroying them will end your worries."
Miranda was avoiding herself from rolling her eyes. She had been conversing with this unearthly creature for the longest time. Therefore, the temptations to do horrendous things were quite common between them and every time she clearly ignored it. However, it did make her curious about her own emotions. Is she kind? Soft? Gentle? Scared? Her hate was boiling in the depths of her soul. Little by little it grew to an amount and now was a surging fire that can destroy once released. Nevertheless, she had never acted upon it which made her thought what prevented her to do so.
"You have told me many times. Now, I do not desire to sleep."
With that said, she dismissed her thoughts about hatred and chaos. Standing from her seat, she had decided not to slumber anymore. Instead, she would do some experimentation in the Dark Arts which she was purely inclined with. Approaching her bookshelf, she pulled an untitled book. Opening it revealed a small brown button which she pressed and the sound of the shelf moving reverberated inside the room. It had revealed another pathway to a room where she conducted her studies in such arts without interruption. Returning the book, she entered the dark hallway and vanished with as the ethereal creature followed closely behind.
