Hello, fellow role-players! Like many wandering souls, I stumbled upon this lovely site by searching for a specific RP forum, in my case, a Mortal Kombat one, for I thought my custom characters could have a better appearance than being a simply 3D character lacking any story of any kind. Well, a soulless character is pretty bland, don't you mates agree? But upon finding the Gateway, I saw that there were many kinds of role-play scenarios, instead of one big forum for one scenario, which is pretty interesting.

So, I hope I will find what I seek here: Good RP, and good fun. May we have fun on a future scenario, friends! :)

In my lolstalking of the welcome forum, there's one word I find the most common in people's posts, and that word is 'stumble.' :D

Nice to see you just sort of wandered in through our front doors! We won't, like, lock them behind you or anything because I'm pretty sure you'll like what you find around here!

And yessir-ee, we've got a handful of different RPing 'scenarios' to fit your bill. There's a unique roleplay tab system, good ole forums, and a chat-based method. Aside from that, you'll find a rich and varied community just waiting to welcome you -- like Aeris there, who you've already met.

Good RP and good fun? I sound like a really cheesy car salesman, but we've got plenty of that. :P

If you've got any questions at all, feel free to ask the blue folks (mentors) or the green folks (moderators). I'm sure one of the two will be posting on this forum to get you situated further, and their words will probably be chock full of useful links to get you all started and settled in to our odd little kingdom.

Joke aside, I can't wait to do some RP here. I've been mostly RP-ing on French sites so I gotta brush up my english skills a bit. I'll do my best!

I always get really really super dooper way-overexcited when I find users here on Gateway who don't speak English as a first language. I speak Spanish fluently, but I wouldn't dare join a writing site in Spanish and so I have mountains of respect for those who do branch out and do just that in another language.

If you want to improve on your writing and your command of English (honestly, I wouldn't have noticed your first language not being English, but that's just me) then make sure to check out the Roleplay Academy. There's a whole team of mentors, the blue folks, who're just ready and rearin' to help you not only brush up on what you're already being awesome at, but help you be even more wicked-awesome in the future.

The Creative Realm and its subforums are less focused on giving you steps and whatnot, but it's still a good place to post a poem or a bit of prose and get some feedback. I'd definitely check that out, too.

I've been RP-ing on some english sites but it's been a while. My english writing isn't as good as my french one in my opinion, but I try and make it as interesting to read as I can. I'll make sure to check out the Academy, if I have trouble. ^^

If you are interested in joining any other game, try using our tag search to ferret them out.

For example, if you want to participate in a combat-oriented RP, click here. You can use that search feature, or the tag cloud, to help narrow down the options to those within your interests. :)

Yeah, I tried the RP tab, it's a pretty kool way of starting role-plays, it's better than having a whole forum for one RP. There's even Drizzt RPs on here, I'm quite amazed. :D
