Greetings all!
Excited at the prospect of being in some RPs! I haven't done this in a while (excuses, woo!) but I've got a lot of character ideas kicking around, so I'm super stoked about getting involved in some story-telling!
Not sure what else to say but, I am excited! And likely to be quite active (I hope; inspiration is a wily thing ;) ).
Any advice for a newbie to get more involved in this wonderful community?

Overflowing with ideas? Then this is the place to be. Not only are there a host of roleplaying tools here at your disposal for telling stories, but there's a host of versatile writers to team up wit, as well! I love seeing people excited about that age-old art of storytelling, so I think you and I are gonna get along juu-uust fine.
As for getting involved with the community, I am so very glad you asked! You can drop by the Main Lobby to just shoot the breeze and see what everyone is talking about, you can have some fun in the Forum Games section, you could (respectfully!) voice an opinion in the Discussion & Debate forum, or my personal favorite, show off your art, music, poetry, or prose writing in the Creative Realm, an entire part of the website devoted just to that!
Whew. Those are a lot of thinks I just threw at you! Don't be afraid, of course. Just jump right in! If you have any questions about anything, just ask someone! We're a friendly bunch.

I am wary of claiming I "usually" work on any particular genre (because I haven't written in an RP forum in four long years) but the genre I think in is sci-fi of the traditional variety. What I mean by 'traditional variety' is, I like exploring science-fiction ideas more than just telling a story with a space backdrop, if you get what I'm trying to say. That's where I think I'd start; I'm not against branching out or trying something new eventually :).
