I've decided to begin the roleplay just to get things going

It was a fairly sunny morning at a quarter to 11:00 AM, and King's Cross Station was packed as always. Not just with the usual morning crowd of muggles coming to and fro on their way about the city of London, but various strange folk as well. Men and women dressed in unusual clothing which could only be described as robes one would see during Halloween or some such day. It was not only their attire which seemed odd, but the luggage they carried was rather strange as well. Most had various trunks and luggage, and quite a few had the peculiar addition of an owl or cat atop their trolly. Needless to say, these strange folk recieved quite a few peculiar glances from people passing by.
But this was nothing unusual in the eyes of Roselyn Cortez. In fact, she was quite used to it. But then, being a witch, it was not an odd scene to come by in her own line of work. She herself was dressed in velvet robes the color of royal blue, her wand tucked safely in her belt. Her dark hair was pulled back halfway, with a few locks interwoven into tight braids and tied with beaded bands. A few loose strands hung low in her face, and her hazel eyes looked around cautiously as she stood before the column which divided Platforms 9 and 10. By her side stood a young girl, no older than 11 or so. Her dark hair was pulled back into a ponytail, with a few bangs pushed to the side. She was dressed in simple jeans and a button-up t-shirt. Her own hazel eyes darted around anxiously.
Roselyn glanced down at the young girl, and gave her a reassuring smile, "Relax, Evie. You'll do fine."
Evelyn said nothing in reply, but secretly hoped that Roselyn was right. The two looked so similar in appearance, one might mistakes them for mother and daughter. Of course, this was not true. In fact, Evelyn was Roselyn's neice. Roselyn looked down at Evie's hands, which were gripped rather tightly to her luggage cart. She could see the girl was nervous, to say the least. But after all, this was her first year away from home. The small tawny owl whose cage was perched atop her luggage gave a small chirp of excitement.
Roselyn looked about, "Where on Earth is your sister? We need to get onto the Platform while no one's looking!"
"I'm right here, Rose," said a rather annoyed voice. Both Roselyn and Evelyn looked behind them to see another young girl approaching them. She stood fairly tall, looking roughly 15 or so. Her dark hair and hazel eyes revealed that she herself was related to them. Dressed in faded jeans and a tank-top with a plaid unbuttoned shirt over it, her expression was a mixture of boredom and relief. Pushing her cart forward, she passed both her Aunt and sister and disappeared through the brick column without saying another word.
Roselyn sighed heavily. Lenora was always this way, but it ceased to surprise her years ago. Catching Evelyn's confused look, she gently directed the child further.
"Now, just keep a steady pace through the brick wall, just like Lenora," she said calmly.
Evie glanced back at her Aunt with a hint of doubt in her eyes, but Roselyn just gave her that same reassuring smile. Taking a deep breath, Evelyn followed in her older sister's footsteps and passed through the column onto the Platform of 9 and 3/4. It was considerably louder and more bustling than the Platform she just passed from. But then again, school was about to start. From where she was standing, Evelyn caught glance of the beautiful scarlet steam engine locomotive, with various students saying their goodbyes and boarding.
"Evie!" she heard her sister's voice above the masses. She watched as Lenora came closer, apparently having sent her luggage to be loaded aboard the train. In her arms she carried Archimedes, or "Archie", her black cat. "Come along, don't stand too close to the entrance. You'll get run over!"
Hastily distancing herself from the entrance way, she watched as Roselyn stepped through the barrier and approached both her and Lenora.
"Now then," her aunt said with a smile. "Are you ready Evie?"
The young girl gave a rather timid nod, reflecting her own insecurity in the matter. Lenora rolled her eyes, "You'll be fine, sis. I'll be there with you."
Roselyn cupped Evie's chin gently, forcing the child to look up at her. Her aunt kept her smile, "Your sister is right. You'll do just fine. Just remember what we talked about- Keep out of trouble, do your schoolwork, and keep in touch!"
Evelyn gave a small smile before hugging her Aunt.
"I'll miss you," she managed to say finally.
Her Aunt's face lit up, "I'll miss you, too. Both of you!"
"Right, well, let's be off," Lenora said hastily, deciding not to bother with the sappy, long goodbyes. It's not like they would never see each other again, honestly! It was just bloody school! Taking her little sister's hand in her own, she pulled her away from her Aunt without even a second glance, heading straight for the train.
Roselyn watched as the two left. Evie managed to look back and give a small wave. She smiled and returned the gesture, and blew a kiss to her. When the two girls were out of sight and on the train, Roselyn made sure that Evie's luggage and owl were loaded before she stood near the wall, waiting for the train to depart. It seemed like only yesterday that her own older sister was holding her hand as she boarded the Hogwarts Express for the first time. So much had changed since then...
She couldn't really blame Lenora for being so distant. The girl lost her own mother after all. But it frustrated Roselyn that she could never seem to get through to the girl that she was there for them! She sighed heavily to herself. These were troubled times though. As an Auror, she herself was no stranger to the dangers of the war brewing beyond Hogwarts' borders. She only hoped her own nieces would never come to know the experience of war first hand. But then, was there really any way to avoid it?
*************
Lenora managed to find an empty compartment near the back of the last Coach, which suited her perfectly fine. She no longer held onto Evie's hand, but she kept her close. She was protective of her baby sister by nature. She carried a suitcase, holding both her and Evie's robes to change into once they come closer to Hogwarts.
"Len...you could have at least said bye to Aunt Rose," Evie spoke up softly, taking a seat near the window. Lenora said nothing, instead taking a seat opposite of her.
"Len," her baby sister continued. "You could at least be a little nicer to her. After all, she really does care about us."
"Look, Evie," Lenora said irritably, "It's just school...it's not like we'll never see her again! Don't make such a big deal about it!"
Evelyn did not persist, but instead heaved a resigned sigh while looking out past the window. She knew Lenora had a hard time with accepting their mother's death. And even harder accepting Roselyn as their caretaker. She never truly understood why her older sister was such a handful for their aunt, but knew it was better to let her temper simmer down. Besides, she herself had more important things on her mind. Like what House she would be sorted into, if she'd make any friends. She didn't have the confidence that Lenora seemed to have possessed. But hopefully, things would turn out for the best.
