Our story begins at the very start of the Marauders' Fifth year at Howarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. A new year has begun, full of mystery, drama, and a bundles of adventure! With the arrival of a new mysterious teacher, it seems darkness looms on the horizon. Lord Voldemort had begun the Dark War nearly five years ago, and outside the walls of Hogwarts, his dark plans have begun to impact both the wizarding and muggle word.

But despite the turbulence of the outside walls, it seems the students have other things on their minds. Schoolwork, exams, quidditch, and of course, the usual teenage drama. Regardless, times are becoming darker. Can the simplicity of school outweigh the troubles of an ongoing war? Only time will tell.

Well, as the title implies, this thread will take place during the Marauders' Era. According to choronology, Voldemort's First war began roughly during the time the Marauders first came to Hogwarts, so since it is their fifth year, I decided to have the war going on in the background to add more depth to the plot. But it's more of a subplot for now. In the mean time, the story will have two separate plots; One will revolve around the students during their life at Hogwarts while another will revolve around adults dealing with the war. Sometimes, the plots will overlap

Players will be allowed to have Original Characters from the series as well as their own Made-Ups. Character Sheets will be required for the Made-ups, but optional for Original. Please follow basic thread etiquitte and be polite to fellow roleplayers.

**Some things to keep in mind:
-This story takes place before Bellatrix, Narcissa, and Andromeda married, ergo why they keep their maiden names. Same goes for Molly Weasly, whose maiden name is Prewett.
-The Order of the Phoenix was only recently formed, so its relatively small with members Arthur, Molly, and Moody working for.
-The Death Eaters are also around, having been formed at the start of the war.

Now, I really don't expect ALL of these characters to be taken quickly, so I will allow players to control them like NPCs until some request to take them. For example, say I'm in a scene between Dumbledore and Hagrid, I would control Hagrid's dialogue until someone took possession. But DO NOT ABUSE THAT POWER!!!! Be respectful.

Basic rules for Made-ups:

-There are three separate character sheets: Students/Staff/Adults; This should be self-explainatory.

-If you are a Student, you may only have an Animagus form if you are a fifth year or higher. But I AM LIMITING the amount of characters with this ability, just for the sake of the story and not having everyone all powerful. To begin with, I'm only allowing FIVE students to be able to be an Animagus, plus my own. If we get more players, I will expand the quota.
****This ONLY applies to student characters; Adults and Staff can have an Animagus form regardless.

-No one can be all powerful!

-Adults will have the option of deciding what allegiance they can be, seeing as there is a war. History: Lenora was born to a muggle father and witch. Her father died when she was six. Her mother was an Auror for the
Ministry, but was killed when Lenora was only 10 by Death Eaters during the beginning of the war. She and her
younger sister were left in the care of their Mother's sister, Roselyn, yet Lenora tends to be a handful and the two
don't get along quite well.

Her history is the same as Lenora's pretty much. She was only a year or so old when her father passed away
and only five when her mother was killed. Since then, she was placed in the care of her Aunt Roselyn along with her
sister. She's a bit nervous about her first year, but is reassured in that she has Lenora to turn to.
She's generally more shy than Lenora and gets along with their Aunt much easier.

History:
Roselyn and her older sister Carolyn were born to a very prestigious Pure-Blood family and attended Hogwarts together
in the past. Roselyn was in Ravenclaw while her sister was in Gryffindor. After they graduated, they both enlisted
as Aurors for the Ministry. Carolyn soon met a muggle man and fell in love. The wed after Carolyn revealed the truth of
her identity, and had two daughters. However, her husband soon died after the birth of their second daughter.
Due to the danger of her work, Roselyn advised Carolyn to retire as an Auror and apply for a more safer
occupation so she could spend time with her daughters. Carolyn intended to do just that, but was ambushed by
Death Eaters at the very start of the war and murdered. Thus, Roselyn was entrusted with the guardianship
of her nieces, while also being recruited by Albus Dumbledore to become apart of the newly formed Order of the
Phoenix.

Lily is one of those girls that knows what she wants, and goes for it. She's not afraid to fight for what she wants and works hard for it. She's quite hot headed, and can get angry very easily.She is very confident in herself, and will stand up for anyone that is being bullied. She'll always be there to protect the people close to them, and will stand by them..unless their wrong. However, she is quite shy around new people and while you can't get her to shut up usually, she's silent around strangers. Lily hates people not closing doors after opening them - it's just a little pet peeve. If you asked her friends to describe her in one word, they'd probably say exuberant.

An owl called Astartae, which she shortens to Star.

Lily Evans was born on the 30th January as a Muggle-born witch and the younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Evans, the younger sister of Petunia Evans. She learned that she was a witch as a child, after a boy who lived nearby, Severus Snape, told her of the existence of the magic. When Snape told Lily that she was a witch and although she first took this as an insult, the two became close friends, eagerly discussing the wizarding world, while Lily grew apart from her older sister Petunia. At the age of eleven, she attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where she was sorted into Gryffindor house. She became quite skilled at Potions and perhaps Charms, attracting the attention of Professor Slughorn who made her a member of his Slug Club.

Appearance: Imposing despite only being 5'6, with pale, slightly scarred skin and greying hair & gaotee. Has cobalt blue eyes and often wears loose, functional clothing, though is rarely without some form of passive defence as he's a big beliver in mad-eyes mantra of CONSTANT VIGILANCE! Though not as prone to shout it at odd times.
Personality: Tough and with a sarastic, grim sense of humor. Cyrus dosn't play favorites, while tough on the students, he really does care about them-pushing them to succsed and live through the war. While not a fan of purebloods, his reasons for helping the order are more to do with the kiling of innocents rather than any political ideal.
Pet: Raven-shade
History: A recent addition to the hogwars staff, cyrus was taught most of his magic at home, his mother being heir to the infamous lefay fourtune. He was raised as a dark wizard, but also has a twisted sense of honor instilled in him through his travels around the world. He spent many years traveling and learning magic from all corners of earth, and in that time between the ages of 17 and 26 lost the more extreme examples of pureblood mania. Eventually he took leave of his mercenarial job as a wand for hire & became a german "auror" with a highly impressive record of service until the stirrings of war began again with voldemort. At first he was ready to join the dark lord, but seeing how he "ran" things with acts of insane terrorisim & brutality, he decided to put his deadly skills to use helping the order & training new wizards & witches. While he is a superbly skilled user of the dark arts, he takes them very seriously and only uses them against truely deserving enemies. Oddly enough, he disslikes the unforgivables, beliving that not only are they cowardly, making it to easy to kill or hurt others, but they take away the meaning of skill in a duel.

Personality: Though he doesn't really have all of the characteristics of the typical Gryffindor, Theo does indeed have great bravery, and chivarlry, as well as rather good nerve, so could easily be mistaken for one, though he is also similar to a Ravenclaw in that he would much prefer to look at the overall plan before randomly leaping into a singular fray, and would always be found helping out people just because h could, quite similar to a Hufflepuff.

One of his secret's is that he actually writes poetry, but also sings. He has never told anyone this, and is rather scared that somebody might find out about it. He can usually be found making absolutely sure his sibling does nothing rash, so as to get himself maimed like usual.
Pet: A black, speckled, half-kneazle named Ashe. Also a small barn own, colored white, who is named Enigma.
History: Theo's brother died shortly after his siblings birth, about the time Theo was two years old. His mother was the Head of the Department of Magical Catastrophes and Accident's for Ministry of Magic, while his father worked as an Auror. Like most wixtches and wizards of her age, Theo's mother was constantly being watched by numerous enemies and dark wizards alike, leading to and event which would scar the boy years to come.

After a short trip away, during which the children's granmother, the former head of the Auror Division was watching over them, and with their mother about to enter their large mansion, the boys and their their Grandmother watched in horror as five dark-robed men appeared from a set of tree's opposite their house and attacked their mother. By the time their powerful grandmother had descended the stairs and exited the abode, wand in wrinkled hand, her only daughters end was met. Even as powerful a witch as she was, the mother could not take on eight wizards alone, however, the Grandmother, full to the brim with rage began to spurt spells out with rage, killing all of the offenders.

From that day on, the boys lived with their grandmother, who even at almost ninety years old could almost outrun them both, and was still an amazingly powerful witch in her own right.
Anything Extra:Both his Animagus and Patronus is that of a soaring eagle with feathers in a pattern similar to his hair, though a tiny bit darker. He plays Keeper for Gryffindor's house team.

Personality: If there was one word to describe the near one-hundred year old witch who looks almost in her fourties, it would easily be 'scary!'. Yes, behind that veil of beauty, and the odd small wrinkle she tries oh-so-hard to suppress, Sophiana is rather harsh with her students if she finds out they are breaking even a single rule, even if those students are her own dear grandchildren! She is usually quite honest, kind and over-all motherly to all her students, treating each and every one of them like her own granchildren. Sadly she has a darker side. When angered, on the odd occasion, even Dumbledore himself would be scared of her. She can become harsh, cruel and damn-near evil when she wants to, but as stated before, she's pretty much the Mama of Hogwarts in a way. Atop of her white-silked desk is a small curled vace made out of see-through pink glass with numerous pure, red roses that never seem to wither and die, and beside this a large pot of re-appearing sweets and snacks she hands out to students and teachers alike. She is very strict with her students in class, however, but has been shown to be quite an amazing teacher in her own right, as not one of her students of near twenty years has failed.
Pet: A bright purple puffskin named 'Curtis".

Severus Tobias Snape. 15. In love with Lily Evans, constantly at odds with the Marauders, slowly settling on joining Voldemort after graduation, ETC.

Snape keeps to himself, mostly because everyone else is stupid and frivolous and they don't like him either. Everyone , that is, save for Lily. Lily is his only friend, has been since childhood, but it's a shaky friendship, since Severus is constantly doing things Lily scolds him for. Snape would much rather study than socialize, and has his own little corner in the Slytherin common room where a candle can be seen melting away at all hours of the night as she scribbles and scritches down his essays. It's not that he doesn't like to shower, he just forgets. Who has time for it when there are four hour-long homework assignments to get done? Then there's researching to make sure you have all the facts right, then you have to rewrite it and edit it...

But his mother realizing that his powers were growing decided it was best that he live with his father and be taught to control his abilities.
