"Yeah, you win for now." Cole pointed out to her, poking her in the ribs once as she pulled away from him. When Katy's voice floated through the living room, he turned his head to look at her. "Remember I know where you live, Katy!" He warned her as she ran away, and then he turned back to the girl in front of him. He got himself more comfortable on the sofa before he took the address book into his hands.

An idea came into his head when she used the words, "hit me with the first number" and he ripped a piece of paper out of the book. Using the pen that was in his pocket, for some unknown reason, he scribbled down the first name and number, before scrunching it into a ball and then throwing it at her head. "You told me to hit you with it." He grinned.

As something small and light hit her head, Winnie turned to look at him. "I didn't mean literally," she said quietly and then got up, before plonking herself down on his knee, letting him take her full weight. She laughed, knowing she'd be heavy. Winnie was only slightly smaller than Cole was. "Do you want to try that again?" She lent back slightly, becoming a dead weight.

While she was sat there, she uncrumpled the piece of paper and then picked up the phone, which stood next to them. She dialled the number. 'Might as well make him suffer for a while...' She chuckled to herself and then rolled her eyes as the answer machine picked up her call. "Hello, this is the Hinton household. We were just calling to invite you to a party that's taking place here and over at the Sullivan's today. If you decide to come, bring drinks and any kind of entertainment you can think of. Thank you and hope to see you there!" She hung up then and turned around to look at Cole, a wide grin on her face. "Next number?"

Cole had prepared for the worst after he had thrown the piece of paper at Winnie, but he hadn't expected her to put her full weight on his knee. "Ugh, I hate you." He groaned, closing his eyes. He didn't really listen to her when she was on the phone to the random person that she was inviting to the party, but his eyes were open again. Looking up at her, he sighed and read out the next name and number. "God, you're fat." He teased.

Winnie laughed at him and rolled off his knee so she was sat next to him. "Well you have to admit... You did ask for it." She tapped his nose and then dailled the number, leaving the same message she had last time. "Aren't any of these people in?" She sighed and crossed her legs.

"Heyy..." She thought aloud and looked at Cole. "You were at a 'hardcore' party last night, right? Do you have any of those people's numbers lying around?"

"I asked for a fat person like you to sit on my knee, almost breaking it? I'm shocked at myself. I think the alcohol is getting to me." Cole said dramatically, placing a hand on his forehead and closing his eyes. He loved how he could just joke around with Winnie like this, and neither of them would take anything the other said to heart, whilst other people in his family would have done.

"Hmm? Oh, yeah...I'll read a few out for my phone, if you like. Maybe I'll invite some of my 'cute' guy friends that girls go nuts over. Will you be happy?" he smirked, pulling his blackberry out of his pocket.

"Ok, dumbass, enough of the 'fat' calling." She nudged him with her leg. "To right the alcohol's getting to you." She grinned. "It's about time you realised that." Winnie lay back on the sofa then, resting her feet in his lap. She hadn't been up that long, but she was already getting tired. She was one of those people that could sleep for days and still want their bed.

"Oh, hell yeah." Her eyes flashed and a grin played on her face. "I might even be able to find myself a boyfriend." She raised an eyebrow and then picked up the phone again, ready to dial.

Rolling his eyes, Cole nudged her leg back. "Hey, leave my alcohol alone. It's never done anything to you and it makes me happy." He smiled, crossing his arms across his chest with a smug expression. He didn't mind that her feet were in his lap, and as long as she was comfortable, that made him happy.

Tutting again, Cole began to write down the names of people and their numbers on a piece of paper from his phone. "You know that neither myself, Gabe or Elijas will let you have a boyfriend." He said, looking up from his contacts list to give her an innocent smile. "I don't trust any of these guys that much, so no."

"Your alcohol has done something to me!" She protested and snuggled further into the sofa, getting herself comfortable. Then she saw his expression and kicked his arm... Gently of course.

"So I honestly have no hope, of ever being in a relationship?" Her brow furrowed innocently and she looked at Cole. "Honestly though, do you think my older brothers, and you, would be able to stop me if I chose one of these guys?" Now it was her turn to look smug. "I dont think so." She waggled her finger at him and watched as he wrote down the numbers. She liked teasing the older ones, who looked out for her, about boyfriends. It always got them het up.

Tilting his head to the side in confusion, Cole frowned a little. "Hows my alcohol done something to you?" he asked her, honestly not knowing what effect it had on her. He laughed a little when she kicked his arm playfully, and then he shook his head. "Honestly.." He tutted, "Violence isn't the answer."

"No hope what so ever, especially with one of these guys. If any of them hit on you tonight...I may have to hit them." He shrugged it off innocently, but he probably would do so. He knew that he wasn't her older brother or anything, but he really was very protective of her. The thought of her being with an asshole like that made him angry.. and also slightly jealous?!

"Well, I got alcohol poisoning didn't I?" She watched for his reaction, not remembering whether she'd told him this or not. She wasn't really proud of herself and certainly didn't like reliving the moment so she focused on his last comment. "That's a lie." She grinned. "Sometimes violence can be very satisfying." She tapped him again, laughing.

"But what if I hit on them?" She teased, knowing this kind of conversation bothered him. She just didn't really understand why though. "If they're as good looking as you Cole," She fluttered her eyelashes innocently, "Then I may not be able to help myself."

Cole frowned once more, biting his bottom lip. "You did? You never told me...I'm sorry about that." He said, before he was glad for the change of subject going back to violence. "Some violence is good, yes, but not when you're innocent like me." He said, not being able to control the large grin that floated across his features.

"You think I'm good looking? Then, you'll faint when you see these people." He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "If you hit on them..then I'll have to make up some huge lie saying that your boyfriend is close, and he's angry." He smiled. "By the way, they won't be able to keep their eyes off you..you're beautiful."

Eljas glanced to Jolene with a smile as she reminded him to be careful. She was right, of course, about it but him and careful rarely ever mixed. “Is that you being worried for my well being or yours?” he joked lightly as he headed over to grab another box and the large net that they used for playing volleyball. He wasn't much of a player himself but there were always others who enjoyed it.

It was just as he was picking these up that he felt something soft hit him on the head and only had time to glance around to see Jolene high tailing it out of the attic with her own box. “You can't run forever!” he called after her. Gathering his share of a haul and managing to avoid tripping over the bar again, he set off down the stairs after her.

"Yeah, that's ok." She commented, brushing the thoughts of the hospital away from her head. She hated thinking about it, as she still blamed herself for being so stupid. Winnie looked at him, her eyebrows raised. "Cole? Innocent? Oh, you must not be talking about yourself surely?" She giggled.

Winnie laughed. "I don't think I'll go so far as to faint." She mused, and then looked at Cole as he said she was beautiful. "I'm really not." She blushed and ducked her head, trying to hide the smile that pulled at her lips.

Jolene laughed as she heard him calling after her. "I can outrun you, remember!?" She called as she bounced down the stairs. Her lithe frame allowed her to trod amazingly gracefully down the stairs and then down the other flight. She laughed to herself and hurried to drop the box down by the couch. She ran through the house, knowing that Eljas wasn't far behind.

Seeing her brother talking Winnie, she thought about making a joke about them just getting together, but with the mix of her being tired of the jokes to her and her friend, and the need to get out, she didn't. Instead, she held her finger to her lips. "Don't tell your brother you saw me." She planned to climb back into his window and go back to the attic to get her last load. Then, she hurried out of the house.

Cole feigned being hurt by her. "Really? And I thought I was your dearest! That kinda' screams innocence, but fine...ruin my mood completely." Pouting playfully, he crossed his arms over his chest and glared at her. "And I though you cared for me, I was wrong." He couldn't stop the smile then as they continued to tease each other.

"You are, honestly. I may be a heavy drinker, but you know that I wouldn't lie to anyone, especially you." He pointed out to her, uncrossing his arms now and putting his hand just above her ankles. "Trust me on that one."

"I will!" She chuckled and then scooted up on the sofa so she was knelt next to him. "I doooo care really." She smiled and put her chin on his shoulder, acting innocent again. "And I'm glad you think I'm beautiful." She smiled, watching him. "You're probably the only one who does." With a sigh she moved back into her original position and let her feet come to rest on his lap again. She nearly jumped away when he rested his hand on her leg - Not because she didn't like it. She did, but probably more than she should.

"Well, you are a bias opinion." She began again, the teasing tone back in her voice. "So we'll just have to see what those friends of yours think tonight." She grinned and then dialled one of the numbers Cole had given to her, leaving yet another message.

Cole was a little surprised by her closeness when she came to rest her chin on his shoulder, and he was a little nervous. which was strange for him. She had never made him feel like that before, so why now? Swallowing quietly, he looked at her. "No, I'll be my life savings on it that others think you're beautiful, because it's true." He told her sincerely.

Winnie didn't seem frazzled by his hand on her leg, so he didn't move, despite the threat of death that came from being like this with her. If Gabe, or Elijas walked in and saw his hand on her leg, he'd probably get whacked around the face with something heavy like a baseball bat, or a hammer. He shoved those thoughts away thought and just concentrated on her. "Excuse me? How do I have a biased opinion? I've been your friend for how long now? I've seen you change from an annoying, violent and strange six year old, to an annoying, violent, strange but beautiful eighteen year old. Tell me how that's biased?"

Eljas was right behind Jolene, carrying a remarkably heavier load but somehow managing to keep up all the same. Alright, so he slipped and slid down half a staircase to do it, but at least he hadn't hurt himself too much in the process. Laughing slightly as he slowed down to set down his box on top of hers, tossing the net down beside them, he glanced to his twin and Cole who appeared to be in the midst of teasing one another. He seemed to be in too much of a hurry, though, to notice that anything was out of the ordinary.

He didn't stick around for too long, simply giving the two a wave before he was off again, running after Jolene. The girl really was faster than him. He never cared about it much, never having been into sports. Neither was it ever a competition for him. He caught sight of her rounding around the house and gave chase as silently as he could to try and sneak up behind her and tackle her to the ground in a way that wouldn't hurt her but put him into the perfect position to tickle her never-the-less.

Winnie listened to him, colour returning to her cheeks again. He really believed she was beautiful; And this sent weird chills through her body. They were good chills though. She tried to hide another smile. "That is exactly why you have a biased opinion. Because you're my best friend and you've known me since we were small. You're not exactly gonna turn around and say 'Winnie your butt ugly' are you?" She laughed then, "And who are you calling strange?" She leant forwards and flicked his ear softly.

Her and Cole had always had a touchy feely relationship, but she had only started to become more aware of it in the last few weeks. Not that she minded of course.

Jolene laughed when she was sure that she was safe of being caught by her friend. She stopped and bent at the waist taking a few deep breaths. She always knew that she was faster than Eljas, she just never expected him to do anything like giving up, or slowing down to let her win.

She was straightening just before she heard him behind her. She felt him hit her and gave a startled cry as she fell to the ground, laughing to herself as she turned around to look up at him.
