It was only around eight in the morning on the humid July 4th. The air was heavy and the bright sun wasn’t helping as the temperature soared into the high nineties to low one-hundreds. The two families had arrived at the home at around midnight the previous night, so there hadn’t been much time to get settled in.

“Colie, Nick; you two need to make sure everything goes well. You have our numbers, and John and Kate’s cell numbers are in the kitchen. We won’t have service for most of the trip but leave us a message. Keep Regan and Scarlet in check. I’m sure Jolene will be a big help, but make sure she gets the music off at night. Don’t go to bed too late… only invite a few friends over at a time…”

“Come on Marie! The kids will be fine,” Jason said, giving the kids one last wave before grabbing their suitcases and pulling them out to the cab. John Williams was already seated inside the cab with his wife’s bags in the trunk, but Kate was doing just as Marie was.

“Irene… I don’t know where she went. Finley! Finn, you need to keep everything in order. I don’t know where Irene went, but I can’t wait for her to get back here. Carson’s a good boy; he can handle himself, but you have to watch Kylie with a close eye. Keep Ben controlled. Everything will be fine. It’s only sixty-one days. Okay darling, I’ll see you soon. Tell the others I love them!” she said, giving Finley a quick squeeze before jogging out to the car where the other three adults now were. After she slipped into the car, they drove off, leaving the kids behind for the summer.

"We will mum don't worry. Yeah mum. Okay mum. Three bags full mum; seriously! You guys go, have fun and don't worry about us. We'll be fine."
Stepping forwards then to give each of her parents a reassuring hug, Colie Black eventually resumed her space next to Nick, subtly grinning at her sibling and a few of the others who were outside too before returning her attention back to the adults who were just about finishing up packing everything into the trunk of their car. Of course, the blonde was just as excited as everyone else was about getting the house to themselves, about having a whole summer to themselves. Both the Williams and the Blacks had already made some kick ass plans, had already vowed to make this season one to remember. But at the same time, being one of the eldest, Nicole was a little aware of some of the reponsibilities that she carried. She knew that most of her siblings would be sensible enough but there was always the outsiders that would come to the parties, which could mean drugs and trouble and...

It was at this point that the blonde's worries were cut off though by her mother who was hanging out of the window of the car as their dad honked his horn and pulled away from the driveway. "I love you guys! Have fun!" Colie called after them, watching for a moment when the street was left in silence by the fading rumble of engine that eventually died away into nothing.
Sighing then though to herself and rocking on her heels slightly, she turned her attention back to Nick who was still stood at her side and gently nudged him in the shoulder with a soft fist.
"Guess we're in charge then, eh?" Her expression as she said this could only be described as somewhere in between devilish and cheeky, her cheeks rosey as she happily turned, grinning at Finley and a couple of the others who stood nearby, and then went back inside. If there was one moment in her life that she'd been waiting for it was this and honestly? The freedom felt fantastic.

"Ok guys," she sang into the hallway, not even stopping to think that some of her siblings might have still been in bed or something. "We're all clear. They've gone." And then with a happy smile, the pyjama clad blonde pratically bounced her way into the kitchen, grabbing herself a couple of slices of bread to slide into the toaster.
It'd been a long time coming, this day, she thought as she leaned against one of the kitchen tops. Both families, the Williams and the Blacks had been planning, conspiring and smiling their way through the few weeks build up that they'd had to this time alone and everybody was excited, all the way down to her younger siblings. Opportunities didn't crop up like this very often and they'd all been waiting in anticipation, only for it to be really happening now.

Interrupting her thoughts then though was her toast as it popped up and the blonde grabbed it, burning her fingers like she always did before spreading plenty of butter over the bread and then repeating the procedure so that she could leave a plateful of breakfast on the kitchen table for her younger siblings, as well as a couple of slices for herself, which she carried out into the garden and sat down on one of the seats to eat in the warm morning sunshine.

Jolene waved at her parents and blew a kiss their way. "Love you, Mom!" She called happily, a bit too happily most would think. "Love you, Daddy! Have fun!" She waved and then dropped her hand. She understood her parents worrying, but all the kids would have fun, she would make sure of it. She would make sure that if nothing, she had fun. She could handle some time without her parents, after all, she was seventeen.

After her parents had driven off, she waved to her sister and laughed, it was just them, finally. She looked around when she was in the giant house, a house that she could scream at the top of her lungs and still no one would hear unless they were nearby. It was just what she needed. She didn't need the close comforts that she was used to. She needed space to do as she felt, sing at the top of her lungs and play her piano, and run around to get away from the demons that chased her... Or the demon. And he was staying right there with them. She couldn't believe it, though she was happy to have him around, because she would always consider him her very best friend.

"I'll be in my room getting dressed!" She yelled in case her family were to decide to look for her. She was wearing a pair of black and white, satin pajamas, the bottoms a pair of long pants and the top a soft spaghetti strap. She loved those P.J.s. With her family notified, she hurried up the stairs and around the walk to her room. It was decorated just for her, darks, lights, purples, blues and light pinks. It was feminine without being girly. And it fit her rocker-girl personality perfectly.

She didn't flop onto her bed, as she'd done that the second they'd gotten home, and fallen straight to sleep. Instead, she went to her walk-in closet and took out her outfit for the day. She laid the shirt out, a purple tank top with a black rose sewn into it. Then, went into one of the drawers in the closet for a pair of her favorite black and purple thigh high stockings. After taking out a pair of comfortable black shorts that hugged her hips and stopped rather high on her thighs, she dressed and put on some purple converse. With that done, she went to her vanity to do her hair and make-up. So what he was there? That didn't mean she couldn't look nice...

Looking into her reflection, the blonde absently played with her hair. It reminded her of a song she'd been working on over the last... Day.. Had it really been that long since they'd broken up? Gods, it felt like it had just happened. She sniffled and took out a pen she kept in her vanity drawer for her moods. It wrote on glass and didn't leave marks when it was washed away.

'If only wishes could be dreams
And all my dreams could come true'

She wrote the words in her elegant script and then, went back to her hair and make-up, singing softly to herself. She'd have to sit down at the piano later and hash out the melody.

As she got up, she took the pen out again and wrote in a sloppy pen 'Mirror mirror hanging on the wall You don't have to tell me who's the biggest fool of all' right at the top of the mirror, the words looked perfect now, the first phrase on the bottom, the second on the top, so it looked like it was the other way around. She kissed the side of her mirror, leaving a lipstick stain and then bounded down the stairs.

"Hey.." She stopped, no one in the kitchen. She pouted for a second, then recovered and sat in a chair.

A certain redhead watched the whole fiasco from her bedroom window. There, from emerald whirlpools stared at the silent final exchanges of goodbyes from her parents and the oldest ones of the house: Colie, S'Nick'erdoodles, and Shark-Finn. Yes, her nicknames were slightly childish and all the strange, but they've been given ever since she was a little girl. Calling them by these altered titles has become a habit. Whether they minded or not was a different story. Chin cradled between two slender hands laced together, her gaze followed her mum and dad's car until they drove away to the distant, off to...what was it? Italy? Spain? Somewhere in Europe.

"We're all clear. They've gone."

A large grin spreading across Scarlet's lips. Without even bothering to change out of her white tank top and red short shorts, she jumped to her feet and bolted out the door. "Freedommm!~" She sang in an opera voice. Skipping steps down the stairs, she spun in a pirouette turn once landed and twirled into the kitchen. She grabbed a complimentary piece of toast already laid on the table, and catching a glimpse of a certain musical blondie, grabbed the chair across from her and sat down in an accomplished manner.

"So," she began in a low, interviewers voice, "Madame Jolene, what summer ideas have you got in store?"

Somehow managing to roll the toast to take form of a fake microphone, she placed it under her sister's lips. Playful this morning? Peculiar. She's usually drowsy and snapping at anyone she sees.

Could it be that their parents were finally gone? The voice that Ben woke up to seemed to think so, and as his mind soared out of dreamland, he was able to match the gleeful words as Nicole’s. Her voice made him smile, and the echo of Scarlet’s kept it on his face as he shoved the red comforter off of his body and slipped out of bed, not bothering to flip the blankets back onto the bed. This summer, he decided that he would be getting one of the Black girls. It didn’t matter that he had three older brothers who were all over them- and Ben wasn’t interested in getting Regan, as his brothers pushed him to. He wanted an older woman. Nicole maybe, or Scarlet, or Jolene. The girls all knew that Ben was big on getting any older girl, and none of them took him seriously. This summer that was going to change.

His feet darted across the cool wood floor of his bedroom as he made his way to his closet. It wasn’t as full as his one at home, as they only lived here for two months, but it had enough clothes to last him. After pulling on a black ‘Coldplay’ t-shirt and a pair of yellow and black shorts, he turned to his dresser, where he grabbed a pair of yellow aviator sunglasses and a black and yellow hat. With one look in the mirror, he was ready to start the day. The first day of the best summer ever, he imagined.

It was fairly quiet as he moved down the stairs, signaling that his parents really were gone. Once he reached the kitchen, he spotted Jolene and Scarlet sitting and eating breakfast. Ben grabbed a chair next to Scarlet after taking a slice of toast from the plate that was sitting on the counter. “Good morning, ladies,” he said, flipping his hair away from his face.

Jolene was only playing with a fork as she sat in the kitchen. When her sister plopped down near her, her eyes shot up, and she smiled slyly, and then mischievously.

"Well, Miss Scarlet." she said, leaning closer to her sister's hand. "I plan to make someone eat his heart out for a few weeks, and then... Who knows? Disneyland?" She giggled and pushed at the girl's hand. "What about you?" She asked her curiously.

She looked up when Ben sat next to Scarlet and greeted them. "Good morning, Ben, honey." She said, reaching for toast of her own, figuring that she should eat a little. "How did you two sleep?" She asked curiously. She was the middle child, but usually didn't take up the older sibling role, because she usually wasn't around to play big sister.

She liked Ben well enough. Though, he was three years younger than her and seemed to have his mind set on having an older girlfriend. She could only imagine when three years wouldn't be enough for him, and he started looking at even older girls. He was cute enough, so she supposed when he was a little older he'd be any cougar's fantasy. She just wished that he would look around someone his own age. Since she'd started dating his brother she'd been pushing at her youngest sister to draw his attention. Regan was a beautiful girl, and she looked a little older than she was. She could be a brat, but that was all girls of fourteen. And she thought they would both be happy being each other's boyfriend and girlfriend. What could fourteen year olds do, anyway.

When it came to Regan, Jolene was a bit of a soft touch. She'd been three when the girl was born, and she could still remember sleeping by the girl's crib, in case something bad happened. She was a big sister, a fact that never popped into her head with Scarlet because they were so close in age, and she had a lot of responsibilities as a big sister. As Regan grew up, Jolene became more of a 'little Momma' giving into most of Regan's demands. She'd developed more of a backbone since then, but not too much.

"Where is everyone?" She asked the two with her.

Nick yawned heavily as he walked into the kitchen after his parents left. "You hear that munchkins, I'm in charge." He crossed his arms. "And they made me wake up early just to be told something I already knew." Nick smirked and sat down on one of the counters, grabbing a plate for himself of breakfast.

Kylie came sauntering into the room, following a beetle that had happened to find it's way in the house. "Nobody step on this bug. I am observing his way of life." She stood up to nod a greeting at everyone then took a step forwards, squishing the bug. Kylie cocked her head and sighed, disappointed then grabbed something to clean the bug up. "Nevermind I guess."

Nick raised an eyebrow at Kylie. She was weird and it scared him a little. "Don't you think following a bug around all day would be boring?" He asked. "No matter, I guess my plans are cleared, what's on the agenda today?"

Kylie rocked back on her heels. Her blue hair was tied up into a ponytail and she was wearing an oversized t-shirt with pajama shorts underneath where as Nick was wearing basketball shorts and a fitted black v-neck t-shirt. "I guess breakfast is first, considering it is the most important meal of the day." She said in her higher, yet bell-like voice. Kylie sat down at the table and began munching away at her breakfast.

The hot water stopped shooting out from the showerhead after Regan had decided that her forty-five minute shower was enough. The bathroom was filled with steam; the mirrors smeared with fog, as she stepped out from behind the glass door and slowly closed it behind her. After wrapping a towel around her body, she flipped the lights off and pranced down the hallway and into her room. From below, she could hear her mother and father saying their last goodbyes to everyone. Regan had given them a final goodbye earlier that morning, so she didn’t rush as she slipped into her bedroom and shrugged off the towel, replacing it with the clothes she had laid out on her bed. It was nothing more than a black and white striped bikini bottom and top, and a pair of denim shorts from Hollister. She slipped two bracelets onto her wrist but didn’t bother to pull on a shirt. It was summer now, and living across the street from the Pacific Ocean meant that she could go to the beach everyday. After pulling her blonde hair up into a ponytail, sliding a pair of Dolce & Gabonna glasses on top of her head and shoving her Blackberry into her pocket, she left her bedroom.

“Hi Ben!” were her first words once entering the kitchen. Jolene, Scarlet, Kiley and Nick were also in the room, but Ben was the first one she took notice to. It was true that Regan had developed a crush for the family friend years ago, and the longer she’s known him the more the crush turned into an obsession. It wasn’t like she went around following him everywhere he went, but everyone at home and at school knew that she’d do anything for the boy. It was different for Regan to have a guy that wouldn’t hook up with her, who didn’t flirt back with her. She didn’t take it as an insult though, and more like a challenge. Maybe if she had a bit more common sense she would see that the boy wasn’t just denying her- he wasn’t into any girls their age. If she was able to realize that, many fights would probably be eliminated amongst her and her sisters. It wasn’t unusual for her to start throwing fits when she caught Colie, Scarlet or Jolene “flirting” with him. Because she wouldn’t believe that Ben was into older girls, she didn’t believe them when they said that he was hitting on them- not the other way around.

She sat down on one of the chairs, making sure it was next to Ben’s before picking at one of the slices of toast. “So, are you going surfing today, Ben? I really need to get a tan so I’ll go watch you,” she offered giving him a quick smile.

_

Carson had not been awake before Colie’s enthusiastic shouts, but he couldn’t be angry at her. The words she spoke, that their parents were gone, instantly put a smile on his tired face and he peeled the covers off of his body. He quickly replaced his boxers with a pair of plaid blue and black swim trunks and a blue t-shirt that read ‘Hurley’ in black letters. He slipped a blue hat over his untamed brown hair and walked out of his room. The upstairs hallway was pretty quiet. Quieter than he imagined it in memories of previous summers- Jolene and Tripp practicing music, TVs blasting, their parents’ laughs vibrating off of the high ceilings, inside games of tag and hide-and-seek, water balloon fights, real sibling fights; the memories were endless, as they had been coming to the home for so many summers. He smiled, knowing that the memories that would be made this summer would be better than any others.
As he entered the kitchen, he saw that many of the kids were there. He spotted Jolene, Scarlet, Kiley, Nick and Regan having breakfast, which seemed to be toast from a large platter that sat on the counter. Carson didn’t hesitate to grab a slice of the bread and take a quick bite out of it. He glanced around, catching a few bits of the conversations that were happening around him before edging out towards the window. He peered out of it, spotting Colie sitting a good distance away in the garden. He grinned at how isolated she seemed, but once he stepped outside into the beautiful, yet hot, summer weather, he realized that he didn’t want to stay inside either.

“Someone likes to eat all alone, eh?” he said with a grin as he approached the blonde.

"Mum.... yeah, of course.... yes mum. You're going to be late. Please, just go. Oh no, don't, don't..... eww, did you really have to kiss me?... thanks. Yeah, have a great time... bye..."

Finley Williams feverishly rubbed the bright red lipstick off of his cheek as the cars sped off, away from their sets of loving children. Curse that blasted woman for leaving her make-up on my cheek! The eldest male of the William's family thought as he turned back around to his younger siblings, and friends, the lipstick now hopefully gone from his face. They were alone now; free to do whatever they wanted for the next sixty-one days. No parents, no rules, no bedtimes, no curfews. Just all eleven Black and William children alone to do as they pleased. If it hadn't of pleased Finn so much, the thought of them all being left to their own free will would have frightened him a little bit. Eleven teenagers left alone with money, alcohol and an empty house? Oh yes, he would have definitely of been scared shitless.

Unlike many of the other teenagers that were standing around him, Finn was already dressed in a pair of black three quarter lengths, and had a white t-shirt on, with a red and white checked shirt thrown over the top and his thick rimmed nerd glasses over his eyes. If there was one thing that the teenager knew, it was fashion, and even though it sounded a little big-headed, and slightly camp, he knew that he looked good as he walked into the kitchen, where everyone else seemed to have gathered, grabbing some of the toast that one of the older siblings had made. The body-concious male had already eaten his breakfast, at about six AM - a healthy fruit bar that would keep him going until he could have some sort of lunch. The male silently shifted his way through the talking friends and siblings that had taken up lodging in the kitchen, and slowly made his way outside, into the already blistering heat of the day.

The first thing he saw when he got out into the garden, was Colie. Beautiful, sweet Colie. Really, she had been the only girl that he had properly grown up with; Jolene always being a little more involved in her music than anything else, and since he had always been around Colie, Nick and Eljas, since they were all the same age... he had grown quite attached to the girl. Maybe too attached, some people could say. He cared for her, yes. A lot more than he should. He was surprised that no-one had realized yet how much he did care about her, but then again, he was quite good as masking his true feelings. In a normal situation, the male would have walked over to her, sat down next to her and plastered on his false smile, being her best friend like usual and just dealing with the fact that a best friend was all that he would ever be to her. But today, Carson was already near her; his annoying, seemingly perfect younger brother.

So, Finn made his way to the other side of the garden, sitting on an old wooden swing that was coincidently placed underneath a pink blossom tree. As he sat down, he kicked off of the worn ground lightly with his feet, swinging very softly through the warm air.

I hope this is okay, Becca ^^

Of courseee it is C:

The air was humid outside in the garden and there was hardly a patch of shade in sight, which meant that when Colie sat down it was right in the glare of the sun's warmth. Not that she was complaining though - it was beautiful outside today and the blonde was already planning on spending as much time as she could outside in it. I mean, don't get me wrong, Colie knew that she'd have the rest of the summer but she was one for making the most of every little thing, as if there wouldn't be plenty of chances in the future.
So, once the eighteen year old was settled down in her seat and happily munching her way through her toast with one foot tucked under the other, she hardly noticed Carson approaching until he spoke, her grey eyes glancing up as she flashed him a brief grin.

"Naah, I just wanted to get out into the sun you know? Make the most of it whilst it's here I guess.... Toast?" Colie offered her plate out to Carson then just as she took a bite from another slice of her own before budging up so that he could sit next to her on the little two seater she'd sat herself on.
From a young age Colie'd been hanging around with Carson and various others too like Nick, her own brother and Fin. Of course, she spent her fair share of time with the younger ones too but obviously she related to people more around her age and pretty much grew up with those that were in a similar age group to her. But of course, during the whole time that she'd been friends with Fin, she'd never really noticed the kind of feelings that he had for her. She'd stayed oblivious to them just because she'd never really thought of dating anybody within the social circle of the two families, which is simply why she'd never thought of returning the feelings.

Glancing over at Fin though as he made his way out of the house, the blonde wondered why he'd sat all the way over the other side of the garden, rather than joining her and his brother. Maybe it was because she was still in her pjs or something?
"Hm... That's strange," she murmured, glancing at Carson with a somewhat thoughtful expression. "I wonder why he's staying all the way over there. Do I look that repulsive when I'm not dressed?" She asked with a chuckle, reaching up then to brush her fringe from her eyes; her hair was still pulled into a tousled bun, she had no make up on, but then that just showed how comfortable Colie was around her family and her closest of friends.

"Do you think we should call him over or d'ya think he wants some alone time?" The eighteen year old asked the dark haired male in front of her, hoping he knew the reason as to Fin's unusual quiet behaviour, her eyes a bit apprehensive yet some what hopeful. If there was something wrong with one of her closest friends then of course she'd want to know about it and be there as a shoulder to cry on but if he needed his own space she'd fully respect that too. It was just a matter of figuring out what was wrong or evenif there was anything wrong.

"Irene, darling. You weren't home when your father and I left. I figured I would just call you to let you know that we did leave. Make sure to watch your siblings - keep them out of trouble. And stay out of trouble yourself..."

Irene's mother's voice rang out from the speaker of Irene's cell phone, which she had pressed between her ear and shoulder as she drove down the road. The female laughed slightly, before answering with, "Yeah, mom. I will. I promise."

"I'll hold you to it dear... And, don't mind my asking, but what is that god awful racket?" Irene rolled her eyes slightly as she slowed to a stop at a red light, before glancing over at one of her girlfriends who sat in the car next to her. The female was clicking through radio stations, trying to find something she liked on the radio.

'--time baby, I'll be, bulletproo--'
'--she turned around and gave that big booty a--'
'--from now, you'd be long gone. I'd stand up and punch them ou--'
'--disturbs you then walk away. You will remem--'
'--Ga Ga Ooh La La. Want your bad romance. Ra Ra--'

"Its just a friend of mine, with a terrible excuse of finding something to listen to." Grabbing onto her cellphone, she tilted her head back so that it was straight, before pressing the gas slightly as the light turned green. Directing her voice at her friend, she spoke, "Britt. Why don't you just plug my iPod into the car, and listen to something on it." Shaking her head, she turned right at the next light, before speaking up to her mother again.

"Anyway, ma. I'll talk to you later? I'm kind of driving." She giggled slightly, a smile playing on her lips.

"Sure, Irene. Drive safely. I love you."

"I love you too, ma. Have fun." And with that, Irene closed her cell phone, placing it on the console between the two seats, before placing both hands back on the wheel. "How about putting on some Queens Of The Stone Age, Britt?" Not more than a few seconds later, Irene's friend Britney had 'Sick Sick Sick' playing on the cars speakers. And not more than a few minutes after that, Irene had pulled in front of Britney's house, dropping the girl off.

It was only a few minutes later that she was pulling her car into her own drive, disturbing the peace in the area, as she saw it. Turning off the engine of her Rolls Royce Phantom - a 20th birthday present from her parents, and probably the most expensive thing they had ever bought specifically for just her - she stepped from the car, taking her iPod out with her. Closing the car up, she locked it, before making her way inside.

"I'm hooooome!" she sang out, immediately realizing that the kitchen was the center of activity at the moment. Placing her hands on her hips, she smiled at everyone as she walked into the kitchen. "I talked to mom on the phone, and she said that I have to make sure you guys don't get into trouble. But the thing with that is..." she trailed off, before laughing some, "Well, you know me."

Jolene, Scarlet, Ben, Nick, Kylie, and Regan were all in the kitchen, and she made sure to take note of that. "So, guys" she began, leaning on the back of Nick's chair slightly, "Where's everyone else?"
"He’s like fire and ice and rage.
He’s like the night,
and the storm at the heart of the sun...
He’s ancient and forever.
He burns at the center of time
And he can see the turn of the universe.
...And he’s wonderful.”

“I slept fine,” Ben replied, leaning back in his chair as he finished off his toast. He stood up, leaving his plate in the sink and pulled the refrigerator open before pulling out a bottle of Gatorade and taking a sip. He gave Scarlet a shrug when she questioned where the others all were, before slipping back into his chair. Only a few moments later, five more of the residents had appeared, seeming to answer Scarlet’s question. Nick, Kylie appeared first; Kylie caught up in the world of a bug she was following, before accidentally stepping on it. He grinned at how air-heady his sister could sometimes be. She never seemed to be fully there, but that didn’t stop him from enjoying her. She was funny, to say the least. Nick sat down to eat, and his question got Ben thinking. It was July 4th, and there would definitely be fireworks going off in the neighborhood and over at the beach. It was the fourth of July though, and that meant celebration. The thought alone made Ben smirk, but he didn’t vocalize anything yet, because Carson and Regan entered. Carson disappeared after only a minute, but Regan grabbed a chair next to him, causing Ben to mentally cringe. It wasn’t that he had a problem with Regan, but she was clingy, and he disliked clingy girls. Even if she wasn’t so easy, he still would not be interested in her. Ben wanted an older girl and Regan was fourteen like he was. That wasn’t going to cut it for him, no matter how hot she was.

“Hey Regan…” he said, inching his chair a bit away from hers in an unnoticeable way. “Uh… I don’t know if I’m going surfing today. If I do, I’ll let you know,” he said, watching as Finley walked through the kitchen before the awkward moment was ended by Irene’s entrance. “I’m not sure where Tripp is, but I know that Carson is in the backyard and so is Finley, so I’m guessing that Colie’s back there too.” Ben took a moment to straighten out his hat before continuing. “So, since it’s fourth of July, what are our plans for tonight?”

The slight mention of the Fourth of July got Nick pumped up. "What!? I totally forgot to get fireworks!" He jumped up. "I have got to get something to blow up, explode or set on fire." He turned to Irene. "Well, well look what the cat dragged in." He teased.

Nick was attracted to Irene, how could he not? But the fear of rejection kept Nick's feelings to himself. Why would Irene be interested in him anyways? He always thought to himself.

"I say we get something large and colorful." Came Kylie's quiet voice as she examined a piece of toast with wide eyes. Nick raised an eyebrow. "What are you doing Kylie?" She blinked a few times then looked up, keeping a straight face. "I wonder if toast moves." Nick busted up laughing.

Kylie slowly stood up. "I shall go get dressed then explore the house once again." She bounded out of the room gracefully then returned wearing this dress. "Whoever left the toilet seat up...I fell in." She announced keeping a straight face.

When Ben answered Jolene (because that was who had asked the question), the blonde nodded, and watched everyone else come in. She frowned as Finley just walked by and outside. She was pretty sure that her older sister was outside, which was why his goal was the garden.

She thought about her own best friend, wondering if he would even want to be around her anymore. She also wondered if she would want to be around him. As far as she could tell it would be an embarrassing encounter, awkward to the core. And she hated that fact, but maybe she would be wrong and she wouldn't be embarrassed or feel like running away crying. He was her best friend, after all.

She laughed when Kylie stated that she was going to study the day in the life of a bug. Kylie was a fun girl, very out there, and strange. She wasn't surprised that she loved being around the girl, with her own one track life, it was good to have someone around who's mind went from place to place as quick as a firefly. She saw the other Williams' as friends when they chose to be around, but she liked to think of Kylie as something of a little sister sometimes, an anti-Jolene.

She watched her baby sister flirting with Ben and she smiled, before pushing up from the table at the mention of Tripp. "Eljas is probably hiding himself away." She commented on her best friend. "Music, or something." She was pretty positive that no one knew the two of them had broken up, she hardly believed it herself. She walked to the refrigerator and started rummaging in it to see if she could find something to drink. She chose to make a virgin mimosa, taking out a can of Sprite and a carton of orange juice.

When Irene came in, she was mixing the drink. "Well, Hello, Stranger." The girl said, waving to the older girl. "Been a while." She smiled sweetly.

She smirked at hearing Kylie accusing someone of leaving the toilet seat up. "In your bathroom?" She asked.

Grinning at the multiple answers shot at her (though it was meant for Jolene), Scarlet sat back and munched on her toast. It was going to be the best summer ever with the best people to spend it with. No restrictions, no limits, just two families of crazy teens ready to party their asses off. A satisfied smile resting on her lips, everyone began listing their ideas on how to begin the start of something amazing. At the sound of her little sister's voice, Scarlet's hazel orbs lighted up.

“So, are you going surfing today, Ben? I really need to get a tan so I’ll go watch you,” she offered giving him a quick smile.

"You know, I could use a tan too. Besides, I just bought I new bikini~" Scarlet chortled, finishing the rest of her butter on toast. "Beach? Wanna go? Anyone else up for it? Heard there's gonna be fireworks there later at night, and some campfires, etcetera."

Jolene's eyes became bright at her sister's suggestion. She'd thought maybe to give her little sister some time alone with Ben, but maybe if Scarlett and Jolene went to the beach to watch the surfing, he'd go, and that would give Regan some time with the boy the she liked. "Oh, I got a new bathing suit that I want to try out as well." Jolene said with the widest of smiles.

With a laugh, the girl jumped up and winked at her sisters. "I'll go change quickly." She didn't need to eat much, since she tended to eat between meals, and would just munch when she could. With quick, light steps, the girl ran back up to her room, taking her shirt off before she even had her door closed.

Not more than five minutes later, she opened her door and stepped out, wearing the bikini from her most recent photo shoot. Was she wearing it because she looked good? Or was it to get a rise out of Tripp? It was that shoot that had destroyed her relationship. Well, no. It was the photoshoot and that damned other band. If only he hadn't been so stupid. And she hadn't been....

She looked very hot, though. With the black strap bikini with two buckles holding the sides together on the bottom. The middle of the top had a jeweled buckle. Everything was held together with two straps that lead to the buckles. With her hair loose around her shoulders, she thought 'Tripp, eat your heart out.' As she walked down the hall in her stiletto heels.

Scarlet followed her sister's path and headed up the stairs also, albeit a bit slower. At the kitchen's exiting door, she turned her head to face the group at the table. "You coming, Benny?" she giggled. Whether the fourteen year old boy took it as an invitation or not didn't matter to her, but the fact that her parents were out of the building meant she was allowed to tease her adorable little sister about her crush every minute of her life. Of course, it was all sisterly love. Her giggle turning into a chiming laugh, she skipped steps up the stairs before Regan could say anything to her, just catching Jolene stripping before she got into her own privacy box.

Slipping into her own room, she quickly dug out the bright red bikini and white trunks with a checkerboard pattern running down the sides. If she was going to hit some waves, then the trunks would stay. It all depended on how the beach activity goes to if she was to reveal some skin or not. Stuffing some sunscreen, a towel, and a bottle of water into a bag, she ruffled her curled locks to give volume and a messy, sexy look. With that she graced out her bedroom and to the hallway. Coincidentally, Jolene comes out at the same time, in of course, a rather cute looking bikini.

"Oh, hawt, dayum, you're gonna be attracting some eyes," Scarlet winked playfully, and stuck out her right foot clad in a red and black Quiksilver flip-flop. "Like my flippy-floppies?"

"Well, well. Look what the cat dragged in."

Irene couldn't help but smirk at Nick's comment, answering with a witty one of her own. "I know, right? I'm just too damn sexy to leave outside. That poor kitty couldn't help but bring me in..." She winked at the male, before looking around at everyone else in the room. Jolene had said hello to her only moments before that, so in response, Irene held her fingers up to make a heart towards the slightly younger female.

But it didn't seem as if there was much conversation that she would be able to add to. So Irene just listened, though her mind wandered. And she couldn't help but think about the male right next to her - Nick. They had known each other practically for forever, and Irene had always found him to be the most fun to be around. Sure, she loved her sibilings and got along mighty well with them, and she got along pretty okay with all of the Black's, but... Nick was different. There was something special about him.

So, she found herself speaking up towards him, addressing his desire for explosives. "Well, since we don't have any fireworks, let's go buy some. 'Cause, honestly, its not really the fourth of July if you aren't setting off fireworks." Her mouth was set in an ever-present grin, though as she turned to look at her sister Kylie, she couldn't help but laugh. "Oh, well that is a problem, now isn't it?" she began, referring to her sisters 'toilet incident'. She knew the girl was joking around, but she couldn't help but play along. "And while you were in there, did you find this wonderful little number? Because seriously, if I could steal this and actually fit into it, you better believe I'd just rip it right off of you right now." She grinned, crossing her arms across her chest.

Kylie smiled at her sister. "Why, actually, I found this dress in this little shop buried beneath a few TVs and table lamps." She blinked. "I did fall in, was I in my bathroom?" She cocked her head then shrugged and floated by the others to go outside. "I will see you all when my adventure is completed."

Nick all but jumped at the opportunity. "Yeah, sure...uh, let's go get some fireworks." He smiled. "I wouldn't blame the cat." He chuckled. "Maybe we could hit the beach with the others afterwards if you want." Nick rubbed the back of his neck.

Irene grinned as Kylie gave her answer as to where she had found the dress. "Well, I suppose I'll just have to find this shop then. Maybe there are some more interesting pieces in there that I could add to my collection." Watching her sister walk out of the room to 'finish her adventure', Irene couldn't help but giggle.

"She sure is something..." she began, smiling after her sister. "Honestly, I have no idea where she came from sometimes. She's nothing like the rest of us. But... I suppose thats what makes her so lovable."

Turning her attention once again to Nick, she smiled at him as he jumped into the idea of getting some fireworks. "That sounds great" she began. "I'd love to go down to the beach afterward. It'll give me a chance to just relax. That, and people watch. Its always funny to watch others at the beach. Oooh! And we could build a sand castle too!" Irene began to laugh, a few snorts inching there way into the mess. After a few seconds, she calmed herself down a bit.

"Okay, well, I'm driving if you don't mind." She was smiling once again. Motioning for Nick to follow after her, she walked out the front door, though not before grabbing her purse, which had been sitting on the table in the foyer. She fished her keys out of her pocket, and clicked the unlock button. Her cars front headlights came on, and the Spirit of Ecstasy - the ornament on the hood of her Royce - emerged from the front of the car. When her parents had the car custom built for her, they had made sure to have the people at Rolls Royce install a retractable hood ornament on the car, so it wouldn't get broken off and sold.

Irene opened up the passenger door for Nick, before moving onto the drivers side of the car, and getting in. "So, off to buy some fireworks, and then we'll come back here and hit the beach. Sound like a plan?" she asked Nick.
