The Hunger Games

In a country known as Panem, formally known as North America, a shining captial rules the land where all it's members have all the food they can eat and no care in the world while the sorrounding districts have the common sight of starving children and are ruled harshly by peacekeepers.

73 years ago 13 districts tried to uprise against the captial, and lost. To teach the districts who truly controlled the land the capital destroyed district 13 to set an example and thought of a way to insure there would never be an uprising again.

The Hunger Games.

According to the capital if the districts stand up for their rights all they will do is start a war causing the innocent children of their district to die, to remind them of this a very deadly game is held in the capital every year.

First comes the Reaping, where every 12-17 year old's name is thrown in a drawing. The older the teen gets the more his name is put into the lottery, and if their family is on the brink of starving they can submit their name more for the necessities they need. It is mandatory for every citizen of the district to idel by as a boy and girl are picked from every district and quickly sent to the capital, most likely never to be seen again.

Once in the capital the tributes are fed well, dressed, and forced to smile for the camera. For them the Hunger Games is basically their funeral, but for the capital it's a reality show where they pick their favorite characters in this game and root and bet on them. They are forced to put on a good show in hopes of getting sponsors that can help them out later in the arena.

While in the capital there is a few days of training where the inexperienced can learn the skills necessary to stay alive in the arena, and a few of the tributes that actually volunteered to be here (usually from the richest districts) with hopes of winning makes strong allies so they can wipe out the weak.

After the training and the final interviews to win viewers the tributes are shot into the arena, that could have any kind of landscape or weather. The only way to get out is to be the last one standing. The only rule is to stay alive at all costs.

There I was hoping that intro could possibly attract those who haven't read the Hunger Games, which isn't necessary since this takes place before the books, and if you have any questions i'll answer them if you pm me.

The Reaping Balls


I only need a few people for this roleplay even though there will be 24 tributes (I will get to NPC making). In order to enter this Hunger Games rp you must send me the following character sheet.

Age: 16

Appearence: Hair is always in a braid, she doesn't worry too much about her clothes and she has dark hair.

District: 12

Personality: She isn't a fan of everyone, but never wanting to cause trouble in her small district she is always quite respectful. Though she is often mad at her mother for not being all there she really does care about her family and would give her life to protect them.

Weapon: Bow and Arrow

History: After Katniss's father died in a mining accident the 16 year old became the sole provider of her family. When she's not at school she's out with her best friend and crush Gale hunting, a crime punishable by death, and selling their findings on th black market. Her mother is a very talented healer who married below her social ranking. Katniss also has a 12 year old sister named Prim.

Appearance:good height, skinny, dark brown hair and blue eyes.

District: district twelve

Personality:sweet, very attractive, can get boy she wants, sneaky, small and quiet, also has a pretty voice. very fast and slik and she puts up quite a fight. a district twelve career just in case.

Appearance: Long black hair usually left down or in a messy bun on top off her head. Pale skin with blue eyes.

Personality: Excited and energetic. Can diffuse her emotions to make her a cold opponent. Loves all people and animals which is redundant information. Agile and stealthy.
Weapon most skilled with: Everything. But if she had to choose she would have to say torture and trapping.
History: Her father is from District 9 (Hunting) and her taught her everything she know. She has the ability to travel throughout all the Districts and she is wanted by the Capitol because of the crimes she has commited for the people.

History:She uset to be sweet but her older brother Grifen fever was put into the hunger games leaving her as the last kid.Her father distent since her mother died of illness.She developed a love for hunting.And found it was a strong point she had along with sneaking with her small body figure.

Character's name: Jetaret Sesch

Age:15

Appearance: Jetaret has coal black hair that falls down to a little past her shoulders that she usually wears up in a ponytail. With obsidian black eyes hidden by her glasses she look very vunerable and innocent. Her petite size doesn't help with situation either. Often mistaken for a twelve year old she has the mind of a grown up. There is an old deep look in her eye that causes people to steer away from her. Her ivory skin is calloused at her finger tips due to the excessive electrical work she does.
She is often found wearing a black t-shirt and brown cargo pants. On her wrist she wears a data chip bracelet made up of tiny squares of computer data chips. Her goggles hang around her neck when she is not at work or tinkering in her room. Made up of lean muscle she is a fast sprinter due to her Tribute Training. Although the one disadvantage is her heart murmur which causes her to lose her breath quickly. She also has a long thick red scar down her left arm that she had received from a Peace Keeper when she had pilfered from a small food vendor. It has cased severe nerve damage in her arm and causes her to feel numb on her entire right side from time to time.

District: 3

Personality: Characterized as aloof, stanoffish, or even a kill joy she has practically no friends. Even when forced to work with people her own age she has a tendency to push them away from her. All conversations she has are emotionless abut interesting in the intelligence section. Logical and a practical thinker she never feels the need to dream about something that will never happen. She is devoid of most emotion and shows no interest in making friends at any point.

Her fatal flaw is hubris. Her extreme pride often restricts her from accepting help much less asking for it. She never accepts a helping hand even if she is in dire need of one. She is a survivor and will never back down due to her immense pride but small ego. Her pride gives her the determination to prove others wrong and push on through. She belives that even if things are at there worst they'll still get worse and you just have to accept it for what it is. The top thing she hates is admitting that she is wrong which leads her to become observant and never miss a beat.
She doesn't get along well with the other careers and hardly considers herself one. She is fascinated by the Hunger Ganes and observes every technique the tributes make till it's almost obsessive. She tries to imagine herself in each tribute's place and go through it again. The Hubger Ganes for her is a test of survival rather than a contest of wealth and fame. One day she hopes to be a tribute like all careers. But she wishes to join because if she wins it's an easy life for her family but if she loses it's one less mouth to feed for her family.

Weapon Most Skilled With: Screwdrivers and Knives (she's a career so she has been trained to find out her strengths)

History: Born in the more poverty stricken area of District 3, Jetaret was constantly warned of pick pockets and thieves by her parents. Causing her to become paranoid she never left the house without some kind of weapon. Even if it was just a small rock. Learning at a young age about the evils that took place in her district she quickly adapted to becoming mistrustful of everyone including, sometimes, her parents.

When she was five her school had gone on a field trip to a local factory. Seeing her parents working she had waved cheerily like any kid would do. Unfortunately for her, her parents were punished severely for stopping their work to wave to a child. Whipped in front of Jetaret and threatened by the Peace keepers she was never the same. She shut down all emotional responses not even smiling as she used to. She distanced herself from her parents until it was as though they were strangers. For fear of punishment she didn't talk to anyone for 3 years becoming a selective mute.

When she turned 10 times had become tough and she had nowhere to turn except to thievery. She pilfered from small fruit stalls. Only the worst food she would take. Not daring to try for an excellent meal she took what she thought would not be missed. Until one day she was caught. She was finally punished for her misdeed by a burly Peace Keeper. Just one whipping was needed thankfully, but it was a doozy. The whip had slashed down her left arm leaving the muscle nearly torn in half. Healed by a local doctor she now has slight control over it although the arm goes completely numb from time to time.

At age 12 she got a job at a factory across from theone that her parents worked at though she never saw them not that it mattered to her. She enjoyed the job she had because it kept her hands busy. She wouldn't mind stopping her work to devote her time to her hobby of tinkering. To her work is work that has to be done. She is accepting of her fate and doesn't stop to contemplate her future too much. Jetaret's schedule soon became wake up, eat, school, work, training and tinkering until she passed out. Her family was always just barely able to scrape by even though they had 5 other mouths to feed. She and her family seemed to be on two separate planets doomed to never cross. Towards her parents she felt nothing. There was a void that had opened up that day that sucked all the parental need out of her. To her family is just people to keep you company who rely on each other. Either way she looked nothing like her parents so it wasn't too hard to imagine that she didn't have a family.
Her dream is that one day she could stop working and sleep for a whole day.Winning the Hunger ganes becane her window if opportunity. She patiently waited for the one day where a very real dream might come true. She also thinks of maybe one day finding a companion but as stated she doesn't dwell on dreams and most certainly does not dwell on the improbable.

Character's name: Jareth Knight

Age: 16

Appearance: Short messy black hair, 5"11', dark brown eyes that are almost black.

District: District 2

Personality: Jareth is rather aloof, as he prefers to be alone. When working with others, he becomes rather aggressive and disagreeable to the point that few people can get along with him. He can be manipulative.

Weapon Most Skilled With: His token from District Two is a locket with a picture of his little sister. He is skilled with a sword, and is also good with throwing knifes and hand-to-hand combat.

History: Growing up with a Peacekeeper as a father, Jareth had grown up to be a very stern person, not letting anyone get close to him so that he wouldn't be used by anyone. He is extremely close to his little sister, and constantly thinks about her. When he was twelve, he began working in the mines with the rest of his family. He was completely devoted to work for the good of his District. Being a Career, he was trained to kill.

Name- Jekka Brightning

Age- Unknown. Most likely 15-16 years of age

Appearance- Jekka's hair is a violent red streaked with dark auburns causing her to stand out from others in a crowd. This coupled with her height packs one heck of a punch on first impressions. Her skin is wan and pale from lack of sun exposure, but this will change quickly when she begins the Games- as long as there IS sun... Her eyes are a mesmerizing tartar flame green and seem to flicker with her thoughts- but maybe that's just the people who make her angry. She is stronger than she looks and faster too. Most people take her to be a prissy Capitol pet due to her well kept hair and nice clothes. Her stomach is thin and flat with good muscles hiding under the skin that are just ready to develop further, her hips are more on the smaller side and she has a medium bust size. She has nice long legs and a lengthy torso- adding even more height to her body.

District: Nine

Personality: Jekka is firey and can easily be angered. But she is not much of a rebel. She prefers to stick to the rules when possible and when morally upright. Caring for others is a secret passion and her gentle hands have often comforted the other children being experimented on. No matter what situation she is in, she is calm and cool which tends to throw people off when they try to hurt her. It's like she already knew what was going to happen. Her mind is not the sharpest tool in the shed, but it sure is the most flexible because she loves to be able to improvise. Flexibility is key in her life if she wants to be perfectly happy. She also must have some form of chaos which she thrives off of. The stress is to her like blood is to a vampire. Necessary.

Weapons Best With: She prefers to fight with her hands and feet and sometimes even with her entire body. She never properly trained with any weapon, but she does know how to use a gun, a knife and a bow and arrow.

History: Jekka is an almost failed Capitol funded experiment. She was born from a false womb where she grew and developed for several years, sometimes lying dormant for periods of time. She had been implanted with wings at age four, but they grew wrong and so had to be removed, leaving her with heavy scars on her back. Then at six, they tried to turn her into a mermaid, which again failed and left her with horrible webbing on her toes and scars on her calves and thighs. At eight, they gave up on her and for six years, she was held captive at the facility with little food or comfort. She nearly starved to death, but she was brought out again at fourteen when she was needed to test out a new field of powers that actually worked on her: survival.

Desperate to produce a crop of contenders who would be obedient to the Capitol, scientist were forced to implant one hundred children between the ages of twelve and eighteen with survival powers. After a week, half were death. A month, another half. Finally, after six months of waiting, only ten children were left standing including Jekka and she was the most powerful (even though she only had heightened senses and an innate knowledge of where water is closest).

So, the drawing was rigged for her to become chosen and now she does her duty to her country. But she doesn't know if she wants to even honor them with laying down her life. Especially since they are the ones who ruined it in the first place.
