I'm tempted to join as a hideous man/scorpion hybrid, but I get the impression that it would be rather out of place.

It would. It is more of the japanese type hybrid. So a scorpion man will be a guard with a scorpion tail.

If it is really that necessary, I will kill off the mother in a post. Otherwise, I'd like to keep her around for a little while longer.

Perhaps let someone else play the mother. But you cant play a character and his guardian. Someone else needs to be your characters guardian.

By the way, bud of mine is lookin' for more players. It seems to be a not-so-serious RP, but if you like Avatar the Last Windbender or Street Fighter, it'll be good fun.

I was wondering: can the Hybrids communicate with creatures of a similar nature, e.g: Inus can speak with dogs, Nekos with cats, Kitsunes with foxes etc.?

I would think that would be fair...I was actually planning on having Lucifer be fluent in like every language known to man, calling the "Language of Lairs". But that's not up to me.

Indeed, I thought it would be a good way to get him to actually make a friend. I have additional things in mind for Lucifer that I'm not going to reveal quite yet...but it should make things a little more interesting!

NewKid: No. Your character can know a couple languages but not all. Think of something like feeling beings emotions or so but not something like that since it is a bit much.

*sigh* Okay. But French will be one of those few languages, as well as English. I suppose I should see if my other ideas will fly by you, too...

One of the things I wanted to do was have him shape-shift, but only into the Serpent (from Genisis). Another was to slowly devolop wings, as well as being able to "detect" sin. I wanted to additionally have him be able to use Hellfire and/or black magic, but I am very understanding as to the reasons of why not.

Its a bit much. How about just the natural gift to speak a couple languages. There is no magic in this rp. And if you were the only one to use it, it would be unfair for the others.
