Don't forget to check out the chat for quicker answers. Don't be bothered by the randomness that goes on in there sometimes. I think of it as an acclimation process in that it's difficult for a while, but you get used to it eventually.
Some brief command explanations:
/me <action> performs an action.
/msg <username> <message> lets you send a message to one person only.
/describe <username> <message> is like the /me command, but sent to only one person.
/roll xdy lets you roll x dice, each with y sides. A random number generator is actually used, but it's sufficient for most purposes. As an example, to roll 8 4-sided dice (seeing as you just scored a critical hit with your scythe in a fight using the D&D system), type /roll 8d4 and hit the Enter key.
/ic <character name> lets you assume the role of a character you've created on your profile in the chat room. When you're done roleplaying as that character, just type /ooc to exit the role.
/afk lets you indicate to other people in the channel that you're away from the computer. This will last until you send a message.
/whereis <username> lets you find out the channel a certain user is in.
Formatting text in the chat room works much the same as on the forums. You can color your text any of more than 10 colors (to see colors, click the wrench and screwdriver icon, check the appropriate box, then click the icon of two people to open the user list again), or you can also use bold, italic, or underlined text to really get a point across.
And finally, to go to another channel, just use the dropdown list above the chat screen.
Again, welcome to RPGateway! ^_^
How long will he keep on fighting? How long will his pain last? Maybe only the X-Buster on his hand knows for sure...
