Hey all, I've been on this site for a long time now, and I've never really tried to set up my own roleplay. So here are a couple ideas I wanted to throw out to the community. Lemme know what you guys think! :D


Zombies!

I know that this one gets played to death, but I wanted to put a spin on things. No squishy, stupid zombies for me! The basic idea is that the typical viral outbreak occurred and now there is a steadily growing population of flesh hungry undead. However, these undead are smart, mobile, and able to do things that typical zombies can't. They communicate, hunt in packs (emphasizing the word hunt), and can use tools that they knew how to use in their previous life. I.E.: If a helicopter pilot is turned, then the zombies have access to air transport. The virus is curable, but the cure is hard to manufacture because you need certain ingredients to make it. Survivors that want to survive need to bring something to the table. The weak, infirm, and elderly are cast aside, while the hale and hardy thrive. There is still electricity and gasoline and the like readily available, but since these are prime targets for survivors, expect heavy zombie presence. These zombies do have weaknesses though. Blowing off their heads will kill them (along with anything else pretty much), setting them on fire will get them eventually, squashing is effective, total dismemberment works, and they don't like the cold very much. They're tougher than people in other aspects though. They don't feel pain or fear, so if you broke one's leg, he'll keep on truckin' to eat your tasty brain.

Players start out as a group of recently acquainted survivors in sunny California on their way to Alaska. Anchorage serves as the port of call for flights to Russia, where the plague is moving slow enough that the hardy Russian people have been able to fight it off pretty well. The players have developed immunity to the plague, and they need to go to the Main Distribution Center in Russia to help with the manufacture of immunity shots. They've become the world experts on zombie killing, and as such a Russian guide (called Czars) is essential to any group of survivors. If the player is feeling particularly like a badass, they can be a Zombie Hunter, which is sort of like vampire slayer. The most renowned of these heroes come from the country of Africa, as the zombies there are the fiercest and meanest in the world. Chemists (reformed drug lords and dealers) are also in high demand, because of their unique knowledge of drugs and medicine are sought out shamen of mythical repute. A good chemist can make deadly weapons and useful tonics from the most unlikely of things.

In this RP, I'd like players to only be humans. I'll take the job of npc'ing the zombies and setting up events and the like. PM me if interested :D

Something Wizard This Way Comes.

Another thing that came into my head was a magic themed RP. I got the idea from playing Skyrim, but I'm not the biggest fan of the magic system in that universe. While the "schools of magic" thing is cool, there's SO MANY other sources of magic that I would be ashamed if I didn't try to include them. So I'll slap down a list real quick of the major things I'd like, and then if this actually becomes a good RP I'll make a much more detailed list.

Potential fields of study: Alchemy, Arcane Magic, Nature Magic, Summoning, Divination, Body Magic, Force Magic, Chaos Magic, Divine Magic, Dark Magic, Necromancy...Etc.

In this RP I wanted to have it set in Skyrim universe, but with modern day technology and culture and the like. Players would start out in their home towns all over the world, receiving a mysterious visit from a mysterious person in their dreams one night. Their intro post would have them finding incredible good fortune in their journey to a remote castle in Winterhold, rumoured to be the abandoned College of Magic. Students have to demonstrate magical ability to gain access and that also would serve as their first test. Basic plot is the students have to learn to harness their inner magical abilities to combat a dark twisted force that seeks to invert all life into a deamonic state of hell. Students don't have to be necessarily good, as even an evil person needs good people to wreak his evil ways upon. The Arch-Mage (me) is neutral in their view on the use of magic. Their only concern is stopping the evil oncoming, and if it takes teaming up with evil to fight evil, they will do it without hesitation.

I like the zombie idea, I know they dont stay long and die off really fast, but that doesn't mean it wont work if we have dedicated players.

If you're having a hard time finding people to bite, here, on this thread .. why not start browsing other open Interest Check threads? You might find another few users with your same love for zombie roleplay, and can then introduce your own plot from there!
