[OOC] Important NPCs

This is going to be where you all list all of the NPCs that you are going to be using frequently, so that everybody else knows who might show up at a certain location. We'll start it out with a location, a description and other important facts. If the "official" GMs find something that needs adding, we'll work on it later.

Lily - Ward of Newhaven.

Lily is about 6 years old, blond hair, blue eyes and utterly fearless. She can often be seen wandering around the corridors of the Castle, followed around by a wolf hound that one of the Guard talked into watching her. Given that she really only remembers living in the Castle, she doesn’t really understand that the Knights, the Guards and most of the other people wearing armor and carrying swords are someone that she should be afraid of. If someone were to wander near where the children’s playroom is, they could very well end up having a tea party with her.

Jason - Ward of Newhaven.

Jason is about 12 years old, black hair and green eyes. He recently started showing signs of having the ability to control fire, which unfortunately is effected by his emotions. This was demonstrated when he nearly set Mageria on fire during an argument with another of the children. He tends to worry that he’s going to be forced to leave his current home, or lose the people who live there with him. Mageria continually tries to reassure him that he’ll never be forced to leave, but it’s a fact of life that the soldiers she leads are going to be risking their lives. He can usually be found lurking in a doorway somewhere, trying to keep track of what’s going on.

During the last siege of Newhaven, several of Mageria’s men were killed. Their children needed someone to take care of them, so she took them under her care. They live near the soldiers, with a play and living room near where everybody can keep an eye on them beyond the servants who take care of them most of the time. All together there is about 10 or so children, I’ll add to my description as they show up.

Okay. Time to add some minions, er... NPCs. ^_^

Jackson - The desert

Jackson is 32 years old, tall, strong build, dark brown hair, dark green eyes, and well tanned. He is a Crimson Shadow mercenary and a very friendly figure. More of a hunter and tracker than anything else, he usually takes the risky jobs that involve venturing through the forest. He is a little bit arrogant and states that he could find his way around any place, or locate any type of animal. He likes to taunt the assassins by saying that, out of all animals, humans are the easiest kill. He is a flirt, a gambler, a drinker and a manipulator, but overall a great guy who just has the tendency to bury his true personality under a pile of jokes and silly antics. He holds extreme respect for Dastan and Indrani alike and tends to unintentionally offend people by going on about how the Crimson are better in just about anything (which is usually said with a playful intention and is sometimes taken seriously).

Katelyn Fletcher (Sean's sister - may be referred to as Kate, or Katie) - The Wolfpack

Kate is a quiet 16 year old girl. She has dark brown hair and dark brown eyes, and is slightly pale from spending too much time indoors. Despite her quiet behavior, Kate has a strong personality and is incredibly stubborn. Not wanting to become an assassin, Kate trained herself in the in her father's trade of crafting. Spending most of her time in his shop ever since she was a little girl, helping and learning from him. Out of his four kids, Katie was the one who was closest to Eldric. She was also very close to Lionel, and blames Sean for his death, knowing that he pushed Lionel into fighting Crys. She doesn't forgive him for that and has ever since been avoiding him.

Donovan Fletcher (Sean's brother - may be referred to as Don, or Doni) - The Wolfpack

Donovan is a male and taller version of his twin sister, Kate. The boy is half a year away from graduation and, to his eyes, Sean can do no wrong. Much like his sister he was fond of his eldest brother, but unlike Kate, he blames Crys for his death and wants nothing more than to see the woman die for all she did. He is blindly loyal to Sean and will believe anything his brother tells him.

Assassins of the Shadow's Conflict

This will just be a small guide to understanding the basics of the Shadow's Conflict. You will learn what their powers are and that's basically it. I'll probably flesh it out as these characters developed.

Ability: Can teleport him and others even if he can’t see them, but gets violently sick if he uses it too much.
Fun Fact: He is technically not an NPC.

Position: 3rd
Ability: Can control the dead in many ways. Bleeds through the different parts of the body while he does so.
Fun Fact: Has an abnormal obsession with collecting dead bodies as well as blood if he is particularly interested in the person. Many Blackpond as well as Newhaven graves are empty and it is solely Lazarus' doing.

Gender: Male
Age: 25
Position: 4th
Ability: Can communicate telepathically with people. Can do this with several people at once, having full conversations with groups if he so pleases. Because of this, he is mute

More minions...er... NPCs

Isaac (firestarter) - Healers' Camp

Isaac is a powerful enlightened with serious control issues. Even though he has been with the healers on and off since he was a teenager, he wasn't initiated into the clan until very recently. Formerly Alistair's apprentice, he is now beginning to lose control of his enlightenment a lot more often than he once did, which is not surprising considering the amount of stress he is faced with on a daily basis. Isaac is still very loyal to Lena and thus, he has the habit of keep one eye on Annie at all times and acting as a body guard of sorts for the girl, despite the fact that it clearly annoys her.

Isaac is 35 years old and has the physical constitution of someone you would find fighting in an arena, even though he has never once been seen in one. He has golden hair and light green eyes. His eyes gain a reddish tone when he is angered and when they glow a full red it means thing are about to burn.

Sheila (Pack recruiter/informant) - Wolfpack's Inn, Newhaven

Sheila is 27 years old, long wavy black her, and hazel eyes, she is a very attractive woman, and she knows it. She is basically your stereotypical slutty innkeeper, a beautiful woman amongst many drunken men, which puts her in the perfect position to find out anything there is to know about everyone who wanders into the establishment, which, added up to her being a gifted manipulator, makes her the single most informed person in the city. She uses her position as a cover for various activities that would be illegal by the laws of the Wolfpack, as well as the laws of Newhaven; explosives, alcohol, girls, information, and whatever else one might need... For the right price she can get it.

Sheila joined the Wolfpack through Jake, while he was working as a mercenary in Blackpond. She got into a lot of trouble with a local gang, and after helping her out of it, Jake gave her directions to the Pack, along with a letter she should deliver to their leader. She was assigned as a Recruiter for the Blackpond Inn, a year after.

She liked Dani a lot and she absolutely hates Sean for the things he says of her, reason why she wants to bring him down.

Nyx the Bog Witch couldn't convince a soul of her craft if they hadn't first hand suffered from it. Her eyes though stern and piercing bely a certain charm that flows eloquently with her smooth form. Though not particularly tall her pose makes her appear to stand above any in her presence, hers is a commanding face and peerless feature.

Theme Song: (Optional. Add as many as you like, provide a link, as such: Polyamourous - Breaking Benjamin)

Personality: Nyx is a master manipulator and bully extraordinarily, usually affording a front of sweetness to bely her controlling nature. Though she does take delight in a few quaint activities, no one doubts that Nyx is in her arts for herself and longs for nothing but to gain from you.

Likes: Fools, apples, and young star-crossed lovers.

Dislikes: Cheeky people, talkative types, or clever know-it-alls

Equipment: Nyx keeps a satchel or two filled with various herbs and chemicals she home brews to garnish the effects she wishes to achieve. She also keeps a kris at her belt never knowing when a good knife will be needed.

Background: What is known of Nyx is that she one day set ups shop in a swamp and has lived there for going on twenty years now. Making deals with those that would wander into her territory. Gaining favors and even followers that she weaves into various organizations and towns in order to further her reach of influence.

Other: The Witch of the Bog is said to possess the 'craft' as it were. Many speculate she is actually capable of real magic, though anyone from Valcrest would be able to dispute it remains widely uncertain just what she is capable of.

Gender: male

Ability (if Enlightened): Jass has the uncanny ability to to preview and retain a person's memories, and can even transfer these memories to another individual. In fact Jass can't hold onto any particular memory for long or he will eventually start to become delusional, confusing just what memories are his and what are stolen from others.

He can only hold a particular memory for up to an hour before it becomes a part of him.

Jass is a quiet and lonely youth, and it doesn't take long to realize this. Sullen eyes that stare off into nothing, an unkempt hair with a hopeless frown tucked to the edges of smudged cheeks. His is a spirit broken long ago...

Theme Song: (Optional. Add as many as you like, provide a link. ex: The day that never comes - Metallica) (Only the first half really, once it goes into the solos it changes the message of the song entirely. <.< )

Personality: Broken, and silent as the grave. Jass lost his will long ago and tirelessly serves those that would push him about.

Equipment: An oily old beat up shirt and pants.

Background: Born a child of Newhaven his folks soon escaped outside of Valcrest to avoid the oncoming tragedies and start life anew after their home was destroyed. The embittered parents would find themselves at odds, the stress to much for their marriage to last. A visit to Nyx corrected everything that made their relationship wane, but the price was steep and they soon gave up their only child to the Witch. Of course in their carefree blissful life, they hardly noticed the absence of the kid.
Since then he has served Nyx, using his amazing talent to manipulate potential customers.

Full Name: Soif Layfette

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Rank: Salamander/Nyx's Mercenary

City: Blackpond

Ability (if Enlightened): Soif is a shapeshifter, and can take on the physical appearance of a good range of other people.
However, it does have some interesting limitations. For instance, she can only shift into other people, and secondly she can only shapeshift into other females. As her powers are an extension of her mind, she cannot grasp anything beyond another human woman.
Of course the shift is only a physical extension, for instance she could not mimic an Enlightenment or fight like someone she copies.

The change is so seamless that she doesn't always feel it occur, and because she has to focus to make it work she can't be unconscious. Unfortunately, Soif hasn't seen her original form in a long time. Having lost memory of what she truly looked like long ago.

The most common form of Soif is a twenty something beauty that she found particularly striking. Of course the details can vary, sometimes she's not a raven haired woman at all, or even tall, who knows where or what Soif truely is.

Personality: Soif is confident as she is cruel. There is nothing she can't take from a man if she applies the correct sort of 'pressures'. It has made her grow overconfident and her mean spirit is just a way for her to cope with identity crisis. Never really sure of who she just was, but always aware what she is inside.

Likes: Rich men, beautiful women, taverns

Dislikes: idealistic romantics, spiders, snakes

Equipment: As knives are the only weapon she can safely pack without giving herself away, she tends to carry a few.

Background: Born in Blackpond and a runaway at sixteen, Soif ventured far and wide after she attempted to fool a man and was caught posing as his wife. Her journey led her surprisingly far, but she was unfortunate to bump into Nyx who promised her freedom from her curse in exchange for her services.
Needless to say such things haven't happened, and Soif now works for the Witch with dire loyalty. She was last known to have been among the Salamanders, a soldier picked up during Grim's time in the swamp.

(Care to guess how these lot fit into my puzzle? hehehehehe)

Sophie - One of the Black Guard, she has ice blue eyes and short spiky blond hair, so light it's almost white. Her Enlightenment is in the way that she can manipulate a 'length of rope' meaning it can either effect a sash or a whip. She uses this to increase her skills with a weighted sash or a whip, making her fairly deadly in close quarters. The downfall of this is that she gets a headache proportionate to who much effort she uses.

Bran (Brandon) - Also one of the Black Guard, he has muddy brown hair and sparkling green eyes. He fancy's himself a ladies man and is a compulsive flirt. His Enlightenment is the ability to increase the amount of light coming from a reflection and he uses this to 'flare' the light from his blades in a fight. The downside is that this causes nausea and disorientation afterwards.

Both Sophie and Bran have been art of the Guard for years now, joining together and finding that they worked well together. For that reason they've been assigned as partners and get along about as well as you can expect. Their interactions sometimes are very similar to that of a brother and sister, seeing as how Sophie seems to be completely immune to Bran's charms. Neither of them were from a particularly prosperous background, so they tend to be a bit rough around the edges, but they get the job done.

Night Hunters-- A group of ruffians led by Kirsten they are assassins for heir.
Kirsten was born on a small farm just outside of Blackpond and when he was very young his girlfriend was slaughtered by a group of thieves. He trained himself and then began to hunt down the thieves. When he found them he slaughtered them all and a Blackpond Noble just happened to be riding past. He offered the sixteen year old boy men, training and many other things just to be his body guard. Unfortunately, the noble who had treated Kirsten like a son was murdered by his wife, leaving Kirsten and his group at a disadvantage against the world. He soon worked up a title as one of the best in the land and was dubbed with the Name of the Night Hunters as his group continued to grow. Now they are a group of mercenaries out for hire, and are very dangerous.
To make sure that his men are loyal only to him, Kirsten developed a ritual to bind them forever to him. Not only do they feel a deep sense of loyalty, the Night Hunters also can feel what Kirsten calls the Blood Lust or Blood Rage rising inside of them the moment that the “lover” side of Kirsten is locked away and the Hunter is released. It is a call for them and the Hunters have no choice but to obey this call, even if they are not near him or have no idea who the target is. The Lust or Rage will not leave until the target has been destroyed or the order has been called off.
His group of men all have some certain Enlightenment that aids the group in one way or another.

A little info on Jake's new friend. :)

Full Name: Irvin Grant (Irv)

Age: 15

Gender: Male

City: Blackpond

Ability (if Enlightened): Water manipulation. More specifically control of water temperature, including water present in other substances (such as water vapors present in the air, or the water present in a person's body). The side effect being that every time Irv uses his enlightenment he loses a bit of water, and so if he uses one too many times he can suffer serious dehydration.

Description: Irvin is average height, scrawny and pale, his light blonde hair, that falls just past his ears, only adds to his overall 'whiteness', the only contrast being his bright icy blue eyes.

Theme Song 01: My World - Sick Puppies
Theme Song 02: Minority - Green Day

Personality: Irvin acts as if he was outgoing, in fact he's quite the talker and even charming if he puts an effort into his acting, but in reality he is extremely anxious and overall awkward with people, which frequently results in him pulling some silly stunt or trick to draw attention. He also seems to believe that anyone he happens to care for or trust will eventually abandon him, which makes him all the more anxious.

Irvin lies about meaningless things, steals anything he thinks he can get away with, and cheats at any game he plays. He is also a little bit "over friendly" with women, but tends to tone it down after being reprehended a couple of times. He also tends to get very defensive when accused of the aforementioned behavior, which may eventually lead to screaming fits.

Likes: Pretty women, gambling, stealing, shiny objects, stories, swimming, and cold weather

Dislikes: Authority figures, heat, false promises, chatty girls, squeamish people

Equipment: Whatever trinkets he can get his hands on, and a pocket knife.

Background: Irvin lost his mother at age nine, after two Wolves broke into his family's home to take revenge on his father and one of them permanently marked her face with the word "killer", less than two days later the woman took her own life. After his mother's death Irvin's father simply left him, as well as his brother and sister, to fend for themselves. Irvin didn't hear from the man again until the healers brought back his corpse two years later, claiming he died of an illness. Not much left to do Irvin and his brother Allan joined a gang of thieves, and while Allan was more and more drawn into the gang, Irv wasn't much fond of the more aggressive measures they turn to occasionally. When 'occasionally' became way too frequent for his liking Irvin parted ways with the gang and his brother, leaving his little sister Emily to his care. For two years after that he made a living, barely, from picking pockets and cheating people out of their coin in card games, until he was caught in a commotion as an Inn was forced shut by the Blackpond army; Irvin managed to take three soldiers out by using his Enlightenment, until he eventually passed out from the effort. He woke up in the underground city the next day, and has been there ever since.

Name: Aiden Cross

Age: around 35yrs old

Gender: Male

Ability: Beast Speaker Aiden serves as an interpreter to Puppy and Tala more specifically but can communicate with all animals and understand their basic thoughts and needs in a manner similar to empathy.

Description: Aiden is about 6'5", medium/thicker muscle build, broad shoulders, his back and wrists are covered in scars, he has chin length brown hair, caramel or chestnut colored eyes.


Personality: Aiden is a loyal, honest, stubborn man who tends to make friends just as easy as enemies. He likes to think of himself as a ladies man, but doesn't flaunt or like to come off as a cocky bastard. He does not sugar coat things but explains what is on his mine, so that he's not very tactful in communication when it comes to people and sometimes can come off a little slow. Aiden would rather partake in a good fight than a debate any day, but can hold his temper fairly well.

Likes: Animals (more honest than humans), women, honest days work

Dislikes: People who try to be threatening, those who are dishonest with themselves and others, those who play by the rules only

Equipment: Is trained in most weaponry but favors his fists and a good hand to hand fight

Background: Aiden has been apart of the Black Guard for many years, not even hesitating to follow his Captain into exile out of Newhaven. He is extremely loyal to Mageria and his brothers and sisters, and would sacrifice anything for his family. He has found some peace with others coming from a dark past like himself, but usually prefers animals because of that same past. Not much of his history is known as he doesn't talk about himself before joining the Black Guard.

Age: 42

Gender: Male

Ability: Mental Paralysis; the ability to paralyze another individual by causing a mental ‘blackout’. Works by proximity.

Personality: Adam is a quiet individual, rarely speaks and is highly protective of his twin sister, Lizzy. Some describe his attachment to her as disturbing.

Equipment: Adam has a bag full of metal pellets he uses as projectiles, some of them contain poison. He also carries a regular short sword.

Gender: Female

Ability: Air manipulation. Eyes turn white when ability is in use.

Description: 174com, thin, blond hair, blue eyes.

Personality: Lizzy is talkative, friendly, and extremely curious. She has the tendency to speak for Adam, and is rarely seen without her brother. She often refers to him as "sweetie".

Equipment: Lizzy carried daggers with her, but rarely uses.

Background: Unknown.


Name: Amber Jacobson

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Ability: Shape-shifting; may take the appearance of others, voice included, but not eye color.

Description: True appearance in unknown aside from her dark blue eyes, she is always in the form of another person.

Personality: Amber is a manipulative psycho. She is known for taking the appearance of other members of the Order simply to cause confusion amongst the Manor. Examples of this include taking the form of servants in order to get them executed. Zeke is the only person that she respects and she will do anything he asks.

Equipment: Recurve bow, assorted poisons, and throwing knives.

Full Name: Conrad Josephs

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Rank: Guard

Ability (if Enlightened): N/A

Description: Conrad is an average looking guy. When I say average, I really mean it. He is probably the most regular looking individual that one could ever meet. He is average height and has an average weight given his height. The only thing that would possibly ever make him stand out is if he was standing in a group of completely abnormal looking people. He has green eyes and brown hair. His hair is short; so short in fact that he cannot even style it. This is the way he likes to be.

Personality: To Conrad, life is all about what you want to make of it. It isn’t even what you actually end up making it, but rather the further. One could say that this makes him a dreamer. Always making overambitious claims and wishing upon him, unrealistic fantasies. To Conrad, this is just a matter of aspiring to be and do what he desires. Despite the usual defeat that comes with his over dramatization of his desires, he is still able to pick himself up and look at the next thing to come his way.

Equipment: When it comes to it, Conrad doesn’t have much of anything that he really holds dear to him. The only item he has any sentimental value to is the small old book that tells the 15 most popular stories about the Twins. He also likes his Royal armour, but there is no real sentimental feel to it. It is more or less that he just enjoys taking care of it as it is probably his biggest accomplishment.

Background:He grew up with his blood family. No tragedy ever really struck the family and he had a pretty regular life. When he was 15, old enough to start training to be a soldier, he went right for the opportunity. Originally, he wanted to become a White Knight, but changed his mind about two years ago. He set his mind to it, and, despite what people said, his wish came true.




Now, for the nest person, I would edit it into the Shadow’s Conflict page, but it won’t let me edit that page anymore. It really is a shame because I wanted to edit other people’s character sheets on that page too. I have a lot more information about all of them, but oh well.

Background: All I can say is that this guy has had a tough life. The real question is, is this person even real? He probably is, but who knows… I do. :P

Alright so, I'm making two additions to this NPC list. These are rather important characters, believe it or not. :P

ImageName: Pandora (also answers by Pandy)

Gender: Female

Approximate Age: 7 years old

Eye Color: Originally hazel. Currently: left eye blue, right eye orange. Her orange eye lights up when link is triggered.

Abitlity: Pandora doesn't have an actual magical ability, although it is speculated that she can 'smell it' when a person is enlightened. Instead the attempt to imprint her left her telepathically bound to Sam, making it possible for her to see and hear thing through the cat whenever she likes.

Personality: Pandora is a calm and quiet animal; she's rarely aggressive even with strangers and only affectionate to a few members of the Order; Luckas and Amber among them, in which case she can be annoyingly clingy. She is rarely seen wandering around and spends most time in Sam's room, but tends to show up, along with Seth, when there are visitors in the manor or something important is happening.
Other: Loves water and swimming. Is known to catch fish by herself, and sometimes offer them to people (or hide it in their beds).

Approximate Age: 7 Years

Eye Color: Originally green. Currently left eye green and right eye blue, his blue eyes changes to red when link is triggered or he is angered.

Ability: Much like Pandora, Seth has no ability of his own rather he shares a similar bond with Sam, allowing her to see and hear through him. It is speculated that the cat can actually communicate his thoughts and feels to his owner in some occasions, but it is unsure if that is possible or if his strong personality gives people the impression he can actually do so.

Personality: Seth has a strong and aggressive personality. He is affectionate to no one but Sam and is very protective and some would say possessive towards her. The only other who seems to be capable to impose respect on the cat is Ezekiel. Despite not being very social, Seth is curious; he's always the first thing a visitor will see when arriving at the manor, and he's often found sneaking around people's rooms, jumping out from under their beds and attacking their ankles.
Other: Is known to be able to 'hiss people's names' when angered. Is deaf in his right ear.

Better Late than never..^.^

Name: Deidra Reid

Age: 33yrs

Gender: Female

City: Newhaven/Raven’s Nest

Origin: Valcrest

Ability: No enlightenment.

Description: 5’9”, light golden skin, Shoulder length, brown hair that get cuts even shorter in the warmer months; Amber eyes where a thin, silver scar starts above her left eye and dabs her eyelid, continuing below that eye halfway down her cheek.

Personality: Dee is a sweetheart, always taking care of people. She is very devoted to the Guard and Mageria, truly believe they are her family. She tends to be the adult sometimes around the men and keeps things under control in case they get out of hand. They listen to her out of respect, but tend to play tricks on her in sport. She also tends to help out the medics from time to time and acts as a field medic when they are in conflict. Dee can be free spirited at times, reserved, but it is unwise to thinks he doesn’t have the same fire inside her as her brothers and sisters. It is just not seen often. She has experienced how many different people live; from wealthy to poor; free and as a slave. Deidra knows how to adapt to her environment and can be a good spy to infiltrate a group.

Likes:Men, respect and loyalty, parties

Dislikes: People who brag, poverty, cruelties of humanity

Equipment: Daggers or short swords, but in battle she uses a War Flail, which is essentially a metal rod with four chains attached to the end and at the end of the chains is a metal ball covered in spikes. Mini morning stars. Also usually she carries bandages and a selective amount of antidotes or healing medicines for emergencies. The right things to gain someone time in dire situations.

History:
Deidra has been with the Guard and Captain Mageria for almost a decade. Before them, she had grown up living off the land, always on the move. Dee was born in the forests. Therefore, she never technically had a home except maybe the woods. Her family was very poor and in order to pay off some debts, they sold their two daughters (Dee and her younger sister Celia) off to marry men of wealth. Deidra was sent to live in Newhaven and Celia out of Valcrest. Essentially they became slaves, but she never saw her sister again alive. The perks of it were only that she had a roof over her head, food in her belly, and clothes on her back. She was not left wanting in the materialistic sense of things but she still suffered at the hands of her husband.

Newhaven was where she met the Captain and it is unclear who exactly took care of the problem that was her abusive husband. She was in her early twenties when she met Mageria and not too long afterwards she joined the Guard. It has become an old, nostalgic joke among the Guard on the details of Dee’s husband’s disappearance. Deidra remarried by choice this time, not surprising that he was apart of the Guard. Dee never talks about him and if someone brings him up she ends up leaving the room to avoid the subject.
