This character is a melee fighter splash blue magic. They will not be summoning massive ice balls, hails, hurling water about or anything of that rediculous sort. They are self taught in magic and don't have a lot of it. Not a wizard.
I will fight any strength opponent, so yes, that character is fine.
First post decides location and plot.

The gates opened out onto another spectacular arena day. The overcast weather did nothing to dampen the spirits of the cheering crowds. Drakus let out a deep breath and dulled himself to it all, trying to focus on the fight ahead. Magic played about his mind as it always did, accelerating his thought process. It gave him a slight advantage in reaction rate to opponents who were faster and stronger. Today a sturdy determination came over him as he strode out into the light.
"Today I shall win," he informed himself, forcing confidence into his voice.
He was strapped with the usual assortment of weapons, four daggers across his chest on a strap and four in his belt. Also hanging from his belt was a sword and an unusual claw, lengthy chain attached to it running back to his hand. With steely determination he stared straight for the entrance of his opponent, not too bothered by the cooling weather.

Tiiron could not help but play with little sparks, rolling them between his fingers as he fought boredom. He always hated the waiting before a fight. A pair of brown leather trousers cld his legs, small slits and cuts etched all over the worn material. On the other hand, he wore a shirt of mail, shimmering in the dull sunlight, the protection mostly a formality. A blade hung at each hip, the shining black obsidian blades swung in small cirlces as he paced back and forth, attempting to remember all of his small spells. He had taken to basic magic quite quick, though currently he was having trouble using anything more than basic non-verbal spells.
