) Well, I spent a bit of time trying out different layouts and came up with this one. It's sort of what I was talking about, having very few flowers to light the scene. I think that with the mood you want to go for, it's best to leave the background with very little line-work and put all of the focus on the shading instead. I might also actually zoom the shot in a little as well to put the focus on the character more.
I got two more questions for you meanwhile. First, how does the character pose work for you? And also, was there any particular type of flower that you wanted for this? I've started leaning toward more of a tulip design lately but wasn't sure if it would fall in line with what you had in mind or not.
And don't worry, you're not asking for too much. I try to put just as much focus on the composition and lighting as I do on the actual character designs. It's what sets the mood of the piece. It's also why I offer sketches, because it's easier and faster to change anything you don't like at this stage before I go on and spend however many hours on the actual line work and coloring
