Lothar desperately needed an heir. He had plenty of bastards from his younger days, but his wife, Queen Eleri, had only given him daughters. The only son he had by her had died of the flux when he was still but a tender babe. To be without an heir and die would be the worst thing for his peaceful, beautiful kingdom. Lothar tried unendingly to get an heir on his wife. So engrossed in this task, he began to neglect the land and the people he governed. His closest adviser, Aleksi Xavier, began to turn the wheels of the kingdom without him, playing at being the real ruler himself.
When Lothar finally gave up his quest for an heir, all he had built lay in ruins. Eleri herself had began to waver in her devotion to her husband and had turned against him to side with Aleksi. Lothar was confined to a room in his own palace, where he wasted away into sickness and died an old, forgotten man. When Aleksi broke news of the King’s murder, popular decision allowed him to stay on as interim ruler until it could be decided what to do.
Before those still faithful to the Kron name could intervene, however, the Xavier family overthrew what was left. They took over the palace, with Eleri as one of Aleksi’s many concubines, and established their own rule. Anyone devoted to the House of Kron was forced to swear fealty to the Xavier or face execution. Lothar’s own daughters, save for the youngest, were killed after refusing to take an oath against their dead father’s spirit. Eleri, now seeing the error of her ways after watching her daughters fall, pledged her own word for her surviving daughter, Isabelle, who was but three summers old.
Once the initial uprising had settled, Eleri plotted to see Isabelle off to the safety of band of separatists who would be sure to see her grow into adulthood as the daughter of a king was fit to. With this done, Eleri returned to the role of plaything, taking it as a penance for the horrible things she had done.

Fifteen years have passed since the Black Day, and the band of separatists has grown a thousand strong in its wake. The House of Xavier is only interested in its own survival and pleasure. They have neglected the land and its people. Crops rot in the soil as rebellion is planned.
But it is too soon. The Wise Ones, who lived to see the Old Kingdom, the Black Day, and now speak of a sign the people must have before the can overtake the Xaviers. They need his heir, but his the last daughter left is nowhere to be found. Rumors spread of her rape, and subsequently, her death at the hands of a Xavier guard, ignorant of who she was. Others say she has retreated into the Lands of the Mists, where elves took pity on her and raised her with their dragons. Still, others who are less inclined to believe such far-fetched tales believe that she grew to be a normal maiden, unaware of her heritage, and is raising a family in plain sight.
The longer it takes for the rebellion to begin, the more time the Xaviers have to prepare for it. People are searching for Isabelle, to bring her before the Wise Ones to begin the rebellion, or to turn her into the Xaviers in hopes of a reward.

1. No god-modding. As the runner of this RP, all disputes should be sent to me. I’ll fairly decide who is in the right and who is not.
2. This RP has a word requirement. I’d like to see a majority of the posts be in an excess of 500 words. I understand that not every post can be of a sizable length, but if we all keep to the limit, they’ll be enough for everyone to work with.
3. I don’t mind plot twists and the like, I’d just like a PM’d synopsis of what you’d like to do. Same with secrets in profiles. You’re welcome to have them, but update your profiles IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARD.
4. I’d like to see that everyone is a literate and devoted poster. I don’t want to be a bitch, but if I feel that you cannot post at a certain standard (eighth grade or above) then you will not be suited to this RP.
5. If you reserve a spot, I’ll need the accompanying profile in no more than two days. After two days, your reservation expires unless you PM me with a REALLY good reason.

Along with your profile, I’ll need a brief sample of your writing while in character. It doesn’t have to be more than a few hundred words, I just need to see how good you are. Yes, you can send me the beginning of an introduction as your sample. I have no problem with that.
A few things that might help you with your profile making and writing:
The Kron Family Colors are blue and gold. It’s symbol is a silhouette of a hawk, wings spread. All of these have been adopted by the Separatists.
The Xavier Family Colors are black and silver. It’s symbol is a fox mask, with a fox tail often adorning the pennant.
The currency is the Black Imperial, called Imps for short. For reference, a good horse would cost you around one hundred Imps. An apple is one half Imp.
To the north are deserts, the south holds mountains. East and west are connected by an uninterrupted forest. The capitol, Heran, is holds the Xavier palace and rests just south of the lower forest line. Various villages and towns dot the forests and the majority are separatist. The closer you get to the capitol, the more supportive of Xaviers and vice versa.
