This is the OOC thread for a new RP I'll be setting up. Its has a futuristic tone, and is about two sides fighting in a war over earth. In the air. No ground forces. No naval forces. This is all in the air, maybe something in space (i.e. satelites). The two sides are the Aerial Alliance and the Black Hole Empire. The types of aircraft include Gunships (Helicopters with guns, missles, bombs), Bombers, Air Cruisers (Like the navy uses, but in the sky... flying), Fighters, Stealth planes.

Go crazy.


This is about it. I'll post my character, the IC intro post, and then you guys can PM your character to me or put it in this thread.

My Character:

Player: Lake

Name: Captain Roger L. Flanker

Race: Human

Age: 27

Occupation: Fighter Pilot/Mechanic

Appearance: Roger is a modest 5'11, and weighs about one hundred and seventy pounds. Being in the military, he has to keep his body in shape and works out constantly. He is fairly tanned, and has a five o'clock shadow going on. His hair is usually flipped out and wild due to his helmet, and he typically has sun glasses on his head. He has dark green eyes and a white smile. His hair is a dark brown and is thick, which is strange due to his parents both having light skin and red hair.

Personality: Unlike most Pilots in the AA, he is not as cocky or outgoing. He likes to lay low and stay in the background if he can. He can make chit-chat if necessary, but likes to listen to people talk rather than do the talking. Roger has problems where he thinks to much about a situation, usually not getting the task done.

Vechiles/Weapons: Roger flies a standard issue Destroyer fighter, which is equipped with two guns on the side and three missile pods. It also has an anti-air/intel slot for a second person, but Roger has yet to find a partner for this position. The only gun that Roger keeps on him is a handgun with a few rounds.

Bio: Roger was born in they year 2543, when the Earth just started the war between the Aerial Alliance (the side Roger is with) and the Black Hole Empire. Roger was born on a large air cruiser, and was enrolled into the military at an early age. He excelled in most of his classes, his father giving him tips on the side for he was a fighter pilot as well. Some of his hobbies as a boy was builiding small robots and working on machines and planes, because his mother was an intelligent mechanic who worked for the AA (Aerial Alliance). One day, while Roger was off at drill when he was sixteen, he had a report that his father had been shot down while in an uncharted territory by a Black Hole fighter. His mother had decided to keep Roger in school, and Roger decided that he would want to be the same thing as his father (he originally wanted to become a mechanic, like his mother). Roger became a top fighter in his division, and is now at the rank of Captain, his mother now retired from service

My Character:

Player: FayeZepher

Name: Kali Turner

Race: Human

Age: 26

Occupation: Top Mechanic/Systems operator

Appearance: Kali is a 5'8", and weighs about 130 lbs. She keeps herself in a tone shape, her arms very muscular due to heavy lifting. She's pale, when not cover in grease with hair just past shoulder length, which she keeps tied up. A pair of dark goggles is wrapped around her neck at all times. She has amber eyes and a wears a locket on a choker around her neck. Her hair is dirty blonde, though whether it is truly blonde or just dirty is never really known. A tool belt hangs around her hips and a comm link is placed in her ear.

Personality: She is loud and in your face. Try telling her that she's doing something wrong and she'll bite your head off, even if you're right. Overall, she's a nice person and when manning her operator duties, tries to be helpful. Normally, though, she'll get aggrivated at the inexperienced pilots and scream profanities at them as she gives them instructions. Give her a mechanical project to work on, however, and she won't say a word, besides maybe asking for a tool.

Vechiles/Weapons: She has a standard issue handgun that she carries with her. She maintains the vehicles but is capable of piloting if in an emergency situation.

Bio: Kali was born to a poor family. When she was three, the war began and her family could only afford to protect her. She's lived in an orphanage from then until she turned 18, deciding she wished to join the military. She excelled in mechanics and soon became the top of her class. Of course, growing up in an orphanage and being around mechanics had torn any shred of femininity from her. She's usually out with the boys when not working on a project. She keeps her feelings mostly to herself and her greatest fear is having a plane go down due to a mechanical malfunction. Not much else is known about her.

Haha, thanks. I just try to throw stuff together. Most of the other RP's don't really appeal to me or are to far in. I'm considering jumping into a few in the realistic forum though.

He's been in numerous fights and won each time with outsanding kills. People say his name but not many see him live since hes always on the move. Hes mainly known for his outragious flight length (maxing 12 hr with 3 mid-air refeuls). But no one can say anything when he hist 100 kills

I'm sure she'd love it. Someone who takes advantage of the machines she loves, being her friend. I smell comic relief.

Name: Captain Jake D. Grunmer

Race: Human

Age: 19

Occupation: Fighter Pilot

Appearance: Jake is about 5 feet 9 inches, weighing a good 225lbs of solid muscle, due to the fact that he spends most of his free time in the gym or in the fighting arena. He has dark brown hair that falls just above his eyes, and usually has a bad case of helmet hair. He has dark brown eyes, with excellent eyesight, and a good natured smile, even though that is rarely seen but by his closest friends.
Personality: His intellegence is only matched by his fighting prowess. he comes off as cyncial, arrogant, and cold, a defense mechanism he learned as a child. Only when you really get to know Jake do you find out he is a really kind and friendly guy. but good luck getting that far. Jake isnt humble about his accoplishments, but he isnt boastful either. Many of the other pilots tend to pick on Jake, because he is the youngest pilot in the program, but he lets his air skills speak for themselves. His flaws are his impulsiveness and his instinctive nature, rather than thinking things out.
Vechiles/Weapons: Jake flies a top of the line zf-165 WolfPak, equipped with radar stealth and advanced turbines. his weapons include twin chainguns on both wings, 4 HellSeeker Air-to-Air missles, and a clusterbomb that can be deployed over enemy airships.
Bio: Jake was found floating in a escape pod as a small baby. Taken in by a military destroyer, he grew up on the ship. The other children shunned him as an outcast, and, having no friends he was usually let to his own devices. He studied the aerodynamics of aircraft and worked out constantly. His only friend was a grizzled old pilot named Hanks, who taught him the basics of piloting. Hanks was killed during an air battle when Jake was 12, and he was alone again. He entered filot school at the age of 15, younger than anyone had ever achieved, and passed. He burned through the ranks of the airforce, now at Captain.




Oooh, and by the way, most airforces use callsigns for fighter pilots (Watch Topgun =) ). If you want t do this, I want my callsign to be Hawkeye

Cool character. Up to Lake to approve it, but I just have to say that I love "Hanks" being your mentor. O Tom, we love you always. <3

Good character, the weight/height proportions are a little crazy (He's fat with muscle xD) but he will do. Lessen the weight or make him taller if you want too, but I really don't mind. Just don't be offended if people call him 'big guy' or anything.

Oh, and the callsign idea is great! I've seen Top Gun, but haven't really thought about that. Your's can be Hawkeye in you want, I'll PM Zen with an idea for his.

Since he makes some random appearences throughout (and the only person willing to work with Kali), I thought I'd post a description/bio thing for Teej. I consider him an NPC who's there to be ordered around. Need a drink? Ask for Teej. Just make sure he isn't already doing something for Kali.

Name: Teej Doogan

Race: Human

Age: 12

Occupation: Go-for/assists Kali

Appearance: Teej is about 4'9' tall and weighs 90lbs. He has red hair, green eyes, and missing one of his front teeth. He has a scar along the right side of his face and freckles dot his face.

Personality: Teej is always eager to help anyone who needs it. He's innocent and often questions the pilots about the jokes they tell around one another. He's smart and tries to figure problems out on his own before asking for help. He's shy and doesn't know many people on base.

Vechiles/Weapons: He is allowed to carry a bb gun.

Bio: Teej was born at AA headquaters an orphan. His mother died during child birth and his father was killed in action. He was given to a caretaker who wanted nothing to do with the boy. Not many people noticed him and he raised himself from as far back as he can remember. Kali was under a fighter one day and asking for a specific tool when he walked by. He helped her and she was surprised that he knew the tools she yelled off as she needed them. She treats him as her younger brother and shows him how to work certain mechanical functions. He is eager to learn and looks up to Kali. The only thing he wants is life is for Kali to be happy and he works hard to help her however he can.

Seeing as you said no ground forces, is it safe to assume that all fighters and what not are launched from Air Cruisers?

@ Irish Wolf: Yes, that's correct. The bases too. I know it seems very realistic, floating bases made of heavy materials, but that's why its the future. D:
