Six Months Earlier
Ravyen and his sister Condora watched as the bridge crew work on the Night Sparrow's bridge. "What's wrong brother?" Condora asked, seeing Ravyen staring into the view screen. "I'm not sure sis, something feels off." he replies as leaves the bridge. Walking down the corridor as he went to his quarters, Ravyen felt the watching eyes of the one girl on the cruiser that he wants to date. 'But I can't.' Ravyen thought, entering his quarters and seeing Ensign O'Tay sitting on his battered travel trunk. "What do you want Connor?" The ensign, with a shit eating grin and a look of supreme amusement, said, "She feels something for you to Knight, you should talk her man. I heard from her friends that she goes on and on about you." Ravyen, not being to take things at face value, decided to talk to her on the holodeck. "Anything else." he asked the Irishman as he plopped on to his bunk. Connor got up ,shook his head, and left.
'Was he pulling my chain? No wait he wouldn't , not about that; he knows me that much.' he pondered staring at the ceiling as he felt the Night Sparrow jump to light cruise space. Closing his eyes, Ravyen shoved back the memories of his parents' and elder siblings' deaths. "The Impirecals will pay for the their invasion and all the people they killed." A few hours later he heard light footfalls enter his quarters. "Ravyen?" the familiar female voice said. Propping on his elbows Ravyen saw Lieutenant Djin looking at him with her golden eyes, taking a breath he said, "Hi, what brings you to my room?" He noted that she was nervous and fiddled the end of her shirt. "Couldn't sleep." he heard her say, motioning for her to sit down. As she does that, Ravyen sat up and leaned on his thighs. 'Tread lightly Knight.' he thinks as an grin shot through him, 'God she beautiful, and yet so out my league. Shit, I'm such a fraking idiot.' he added as an after thought. As she started to talk about her day and her troubles, Ravyen had to keep his eyes from straying to far down from her face. Which was hard, because he found himself liking that part of her person. 'Frak, why must my head go south right now? Frak!'
Minutes ticked by he found that she had a nice voice and seemed to be unable to deal with jerks without going to tears after towards. "So you want me and my family to deal with them for you?" he asked. When she started to ramble, Ravyen placed his finger on her mouth and says, "Don't worry, I'm they'll understand. Alright, let us help you." As she nods, the lieutenant quicking leaned over and gave a quick peck on the cheek and zoomed out of the room. Ravyen blinked rapidly as he touched his cheek, 'Did that just happen?' he thought, laying down and staring at the ceiling.
The next day Ravyen was in a battle armor checking the hull for any micro metorite hits. "I don't see anything." he says over the radio. "Alright, head to sector Alpha five nine Theta and recon it for possible hiding spots." said the captain. Ravyen just sighs softly as he jets off the named sector, 'Something is off, but what is it?' he wondered. Hooking up with a flight of three fighters, he reaches the sector with two hours. Linking his radar to the fighters' he began to scan the sector. "Knight, do have a bad feeling about something?" the flight lead asked over radio. "Yeah, just don't know what."
After returning to the ship, he stopped and leaned on the wall as the crew milled by him. 'You walk a dark road Ravy.' 'I know, but it's the only one I have left to walk.' he said to the voice in his head. Closing his eyes, Ravyen blocked out the noise. "No matter what happens, there will be blood." he thought as replays last night's event in his mind. "Djin, you don't see how much I wana be with you. It takes everything not to pull you into a dark corner and tell you how I feel." he said to himself.
