
Knights of the Round
Please read!!! I want people's honest opinion of both the world I have created for this rp idea and their input on what we could do with it.
Backstory
There is a legend of a place called Avalon, which was once the home and source of all the arcane forces in the world, collectively known as magic. This place was very real in the hearts and minds of the people of ancient England, and under the guidance of the old religion, people lived simple yet happy lives. However, the sands of time wore at the fabric of the people's beliefs until nothing but tales remained. Avalon was no longer needed and soon became lost to time.
Centuries later, during a time of scientific enlightenment and logic, the arcanic forces finally returned to mankind. This caused many people to gain abilities that had not been known since the time of the old pegan religions. However, humanity greedily took these gifts bestowed upon them and used them for their own means, which, through a series of cataclysms caused by failed experiments, all but wiped out the human race. Chaos ensued, and the world fell into darkness.
However, one glint of hope shone through these dark times. The world put itself back into check, as it had done many times previously, and left a new world, one lush and green. It was up to humanity to use this clean slate to create a better world for itself. A new empire rose out of the ashes of the old, one of honor and glory, that ruled over its sovereign lands with the same serfdom of ancient England. This new empire, lead by one dynastic line that were called the Angelo family, eventually christened itself "New Avalon."
However, outside of the capitol city of this land, rouges continued to plunder the countryside, unhindered by the townsfolk and the dukes that controlled their small city-states. Cries for help from these small communities were left unanswered for years, leaving the border country in shambles and the infrastructure of the entire empire in risk of collapse.
General
This is a general history that I compiled in order to create a roleplay called the Knights of the Round. This is an idea I have had for quite some time, but every time I have tried to write down something that I can use for this new RP, I end up with a world that is not how I imagined it. However, now that I have something put together (after what seemed like forever), I want people's input on how you think the story should go.
My general idea is for the Angelo family to order the rounding up of children from all over New Avalon with "potential" and bringing them to the capital city, where they will be trained to become the "Knights of the Round," a force that is going to be trained to fight on the front lines in the war-ravaged countryside. Of course, that is not much of a plot so far, but It is enough to get people thinking.
