I'm kinda new to the online role playing thing but I've done pen and paper for years so I thought I'd try it out.

In the near future, in response to the rapidly heating planet, a team of scientists invent a climate control system made up of, specialized satellites, a network of highly adaptive AI, and automated factories to perform self-repairs and create new ways of cleaning the environment. This system is called A.N.G.E.L.S.(Adaptive Neurological Global Environmental Life Support).Flash forward 10 years, A.N.G.E.L.S. decides that the largest threat to the environment is mankind and, begins to develop militant systems in secret. After some years of preparation, A.N.G.E.L.S. launches it's attack on humanity. A large portion of the earth's population is destroyed. Non- military citizens are sent into 100 year-sealed fall out shelters put into place in case of nuclear war. On the surface the worlds military scientists work in a hidden bunker on a secret program called project demon.
Performing experiments on over 100 children, the scientists genetically and cybernetically enhanced the demons, not to fight the A.N.G.E.L.S forces directly, but to hack into and shut down the AI of the system. 50 of them survived. They became know as D.E.M.O.N.S.(Defense Enhanced Militant Organic Neuro-Systems). They were placed into fortified bunkers dotting the globe so that they could not all be found at once. Utilizing burrowing cables called A.R.C.O.C.'s(Automatically Regenerating Cyber-Organic Cables) that are attached to there bodies they search for a place to jack into and hack the A.N.G.E.L.S. system.

All ground troops and military installations have been destroyed. 10 of the original D.E.M.O.N.S. are still undiscovered and they are locked in a stalemate with A.N.G.E.L.S. This story takes place 100 years after the release of surviving humanity. The world that greets them is one in which most technology has been lost. The Tech level is that of edo period japan and a samurai like code is in effect. Other than that the culture is that of a stereotypical western. Remnants of lost technology can be found but they are few, far between, and usually don't work.

Character Name: Aaron (he doesn't know his last name)

Gender: Male

Appearance: A large black cloak that is open most of the time. It hangs down to his ankles. On his torso is a brown shirt that is in good condition despite all the fights he gets in. He has black, baggy, hand made pants. He wears military boots. On his back is a large scabbard for his giant zweihander sword. His face has a few scars and what could be a beard in a few weeks.

Personality: He often prefers to be alone, and he wanders from town to town. He likes to challedge those willing to fight to test his skill and controll of his massive sword.

Back Story: Aaron was born into the hell that is this world. As a small child, he watched the few trained fighters that passed through his parents land. He liked to look at the swords of the wanders, and he became famliar with the sword making art. He worked on swords for the wanders as a trade, and they paid his parents with food and othe supplies. As Aaron was working, his parents were murdered by robbers. When he found his parents bodies, he cried for a few days, before deciding he had to move on. He poured all of his anger and rage into his sword making and crafted the large zweihander he now uses.

Are there any certain guidelines of what my character can look like?

If it's an image it can't be anything to cartoony. Anime is fine. Here's my character.

Appearance:



Personality: Calm,Collected,Natural leader,Very intelligent

The tatoo on his left arm is the symbol for project demon. Ananaius is one of the10 surviving D.E.M.O.N.S. After uncovering a plot by A.N.G.E.L.S. to infiltrate human society he decides that the best solution is to confront A.N.G.E.L.S. in person. He programs his body for battle and is in the process of transfering all of his files into his memory banks when his bunker is discovered by an A.N.G.E.L.S. probe. He cuts himself free of his A.R.C.O.C.'s prematurely and destroys the probe but now has no recollection of his past. He wanders the wilderness and is taken in by the james clan. he is given the name ananaius by his adopted family. One day after a journey to the capital to report the death of the clan sheriff (Leader) to the emperor he returns to find that his entire clan has been slain. He finds evidence that an allied clan, the Babylon clan, is responsible. Rage filling his heart he travels to their clan house and takes them all on single-handed. Bloodied but living he survives the battle and, with not much left to live for, he begins a treacherous journey across the mountains to the south.

Personality: Alert, Calm minded, Organized, Over-Analytical, Strong willed

After the mysterious disappearance of D37, D13 was dispatched to retrieve information on D37's death or whereabouts. His jacket bears the insignia of the U.W.A. (United World Alliance). His left arm is equipped with a defense class C.O.N.S.T.R.U.C.T. (Cyber-Organic-Nanotech-Specialized-Tactical-Response-Universal-Combat-Tool) which adapts depending on the combat situation, and his sword is an offensive model C.O.N.S.T.R.U.C.T. The sword itself can be reshaped depending upon the need for ranged or close quarter fighting. His right eye is cybernetically altered so he can use it for seeing far distances.

Character Name: Aisaka Junko, preferably just 'Junko'

Gender: Female

Appearance: Pale skinned girl, japanese heritage,never in her days would touch any sort of makeup nor have any forms of piercings or permenant markings. Hair dyed an unnatural pale yellow. She is rather short for her age, looking about 15-16 and wears a large over sized gray zip up jumper, short pleated skirt and jeans, talls boots with bright yelled laces tied all the way to the top (just above her knees). She has a pair of googles used to keep her eyes safe in dangerous zones, often keeping a gas mask handy. She has a pair of bright yellow leather gloves, usually hidden in her long sleeves, which she almsot never takes off. She is always seen with her bass guitar, although she can hardly use it as she lacks an amp.

Personality: Junko is rather aloof and somewhat lazy. Having inherited her fathers love for technology, she loves to be amoungst it, although that is rare these days. While she comes off cold to strangers she'd never go out of her way to say, kick kittens or anything cruell, and if she saw fit she would help those in need. Otherwise Junko is terribly lazy and although she is capable, will never go out of her way for anything, and if pushed, will put up a desent fight and some throw in some colorful insults for good measure.

Back Story: Junko was brought up kept away from most other children. She had no real biding relationships, by her parents demand. Rather she was homeschool and specially taught, her only freedom in learning to play the bass guitar. Her father was a member of the D.E.M.O.N project, one of the technological geniuses of the time called upon. It was the delicate information her father held that imprisoned Junk and her mother to their house and them selves. Never the less, Junko was fasinated by her fathers work, and although she never knew the full details, her father would often throw her a question, in a different context, about the work, after realising his daughter could have been better at his job than he was.
After a month however, and just and Junko was realising the truth behind his random questioning, her father was called away permenantly as the project became more and more developed. At age 10, Junko lost all contact with her beloved father. At 14 they took away her mother, while Junko hid. At 16 she finally left her small hometown. Now, at 18 years, she is still looking for her father who, for all she knows, is still alive.

D.E.M.O.N.S. are ageless that's why they're still alive after all this time. Project D.E.M.O.N. ended around 150 years ago. Your character sounds cool but the back story doesn't quite fit. Perhaps when she went searching for her father, along the way she passed out from exhaustion. She was found by military personnel and sent to be frozen cryogenically with a portion of the population when the surface became off limits to all but military. When she was auto thawed she awoke to find a bunch of destroyed equipment around her. She was the only one to survive. Unsure about what has transpired she seeks answers and continues her search for her father. How's that? Sorry if it's too much.

sounds perfect. Sorry I didn't quite get it the first time, I'm a bit like that with reading, always interpret things waaaaay differetly, hehe. But yeah, that's all good!

This roleplay sounds like a good idea and a very interesting place to post. If you do not mind, I would like to reserve a character ahead of time so I can work on the profile. I like it to be just right before I post.

alright i took most of the evening to get it done right, but i think i have a profile!

"Jake"

Character Name: Jacob "Jake" Huber
Gender: Male
Appearance: Jake, due to being on the road for years, keeps his hair long and unkept and wears raggedy clothes. When not in combat, he keeps a long gray cloak over his shoulders to hide the twin shortswords he keeps on his belt. He also wears a worn black t-shirt and a pair of dark gray combat pants. (see above photo)

Personality: Jake has a tendency to think rashly, which often gets him into trouble. However, he is very respectful for those who respect him and is a loose cannon in battle despite his size.

Back Story: Jake is the youngest son of a former leader of a quasi-military police force that was formed almost 80 years after the release of the civilian population. This organization protected civilian settlements along the far western border of UWA influence where protection was not regularly sent.

Around the age of 15, Jake's father was killed in an A.N.G.E.L. raid along with most of the other members of the guardian organization. After that incident, Jake decided to slip into anonymity as a wandering warrior so that he could find a new "family" to protect or at least a new rallying point of resistance against the A.N.G.E.L.S.

Character: Brea Sanders

Gender: Female

Appearance: Delicate and thin brunette with wavy, shoulder length hair and fair-skin. She wears a thick white blouse and a long flowing olive-drab skirt. Also she wears, light-brown colored and open-toed, heeled sandals. Strapped across her shoulder and back is a long red wood scabbard concealing a pitch-black katana made of carbon steel. Upon her waist is a thick black leather belt and on her right hip is a container, a holster, bearing a very rare heavy, high-caliber pistol.

Back Story: Brea has no memory of her family. She vaguely remembers stories of the fall-out shelters humans had fled to during the A.N.G.E.L.S. and D.E.M.O.N.S. war. She knows that she was raised in a small-town in California and the people there were very nice. Her father figure was a blacksmith and sheriff and her mother was the inn keep. She grew up helping out with various jobs around town including inn keeping with her mother along with other management opportunities. Being color blind has heightened her hearing. She could hear a pin drop in another room. After the death of her parental figures, Brea found herself taking over her dad’s position of sheriff and was handed down his famous Dragon half-slide semi-automatic gas powered high caliber pistol. Her father forged a beautiful sword before his death and was handed down to Brea. A few years after the deaths of her parents, she was out of town on a manhunt and when she returned she found her town had been destroyed. The criminal in chains told her that it was destroyed by A.N.G.E.L.S.
