OOC: Dude, you just set your arm on fire, I'm not sure which because you wrote "right left". I just kinda winged it without that information.
IC:
It was the beginning of the continuation of their previous combat, which Robert had assumed to be over when Von was stabbed in the chest. This was no time to rush in recklessly with a large, momentous attack and get himself killed. He knew his opponent would be angry, seeking revenge for the gaping wound in his chest as well as desperate, struggling to evade the city’s guards and escape the walls.
Unfortunately now with his serious wound slowing him down- his left lung punctured and made obvious by the stream of blood trickling from the corner of his mouth- and meeting a second time in the same night with the swordsman who had so grievously injured him, escape was going to be almost impossible. With knowledge of that desperation- the desperation of man with nothing left to lose- Robert waded carefully into battle with this wounded beast.
With his flaming sword radiating heat from its blade, he had thrust forward, using a feint to hopefully knock aside the lead dagger Von had been wielding as a main defense and sneak past it with a quick stab. It was not to be however. Despite the blood-loss and lack of a lung, Von was not going to be taken in by such a simple attack.
Using his forearm, Von shoved against the flat side of the attacking longsword, hoping to deflect the attack. Unfortunately, in doing so with such force, he would inadvertently catch his sleeve on fire, sending a sudden outburst of flame traveling up his arm. Before he could realize this, however, he continued with his assault. Now that he had sufficiently knocked away Robert’s main weapon, his brutal longsword, the rogue saw a chance to end the fight, flinging one of his final remaining weapons, a dagger, swiftly towards his opponent’s neck.
Reacting on reflex, the former knight jerked his head away from the blade, effectively moving his neck to the right in the same motion and narrowly dodging an almost certainly deadly assault as the weapon hurtled past, cutting a small nick in his ear before embedding itself into the side of the cart Von had used to light his newest fire.
Seeing that the arsonist’s attack was not yet done and that he intended to continue with the arm he’d caught on fire, wielding another knife, Robert used the momentum of his most recent dodging technique to spin, carrying his arm out of harms way, while at the same time ducking towards the ground. Using the spinning dodge, Robert forcefully extended his right leg and swung it outward ahead of his body, sweeping powerfully at the back of Von’s knees with his heel. Coming around with the rest of his body, Robert also swung with the massive flaming blade in his right hand, aiming this time at about shoulder-height on the fugitive, assuming that he might leap over his leg’s initial attack.
Spinning completely around, Robert stood up and stepped back into his square-shouldered fighting posture, his right side leading once more. Observing his opponent, who appeared much worse for the wear at the moment with a bleeding chest cavity and his right arm on fire, now threatening to creep up to consume the rest of him, Axgarde prepared for the worst.
