I'll start.


Mai sat on her bed, frozen as she stared at the ground. She was still wearing her graduation robes and cap. A ripped open envelope lay by her side, and she held the papers in her hand. Her mother had been knocking earlier, but had given up and left.

"L-L-Leukemia..."She stuttered, the word falling from her lips. She dropped the papers on the ground, which were telling her she was diagnosed with it and she only had an estimated four months to live. She stood up, and pushed some of her brown hair back, feeling exhausted and defeated. She looked to her dresser. Upon it was a piece of paper that she had made in grade ten. Her 50 things to do before I die list. Tearing it open, she looked at the first one that wasn't crossed out.

"Have a road trip with my friends"

She sighed and reached for the phone. hesitating for a moment, she picked up the phone and dialed Janessa's number. She listened to the steady ringing of the phone, waiting for Nessa to pick up.

[I shall go second woot.]

Janessa picked up an apple from the fruit basket sitting on the table. She looked around and noticed her parents weren't watching so she tossed the apple in the trash and then jumped when her phone began ringing.She reached down and saw Mai's number and smiled. She pushed 'talk' and put the phone to her ear.

"Hello." she said in a cheerful voice as she smiled and walked over to the mirror looking at herself. She was still in her cap and gown and her parents insisted she keep it on since this was the first time she had ever "dressed up" as her mother calls it.

"Hey Nessa!" Mai said, her voice having a slight musical tone to it, "What's up?"

Funny, how much you work for something to find out you're just going to die. It had been nearly two months since he figured out he would be dead by Christmas which he tried not to think about much though it hurt him to realize he wouldn't be able to do the things he wanted in life - get married, have kids, fall in love. He sat in his living room, living in his own bachelor pad apartment, feet up, kicked back, relaxing. On the table next to him his Black Berry Pearl lingered there in need of use. They had just graduated and all of his friends seemed pepped up and he, like them, most likely, was wearing his hat and robe still. Too afraid to move because of the pain he carried, he just sat there quietly.

"Nothing. But I'm two seconds from taking this cap and gown off. Can you believe my mother is making me wear at least until I go to bed." Janessa said. She sighed. "What's up with you?" she asked as she walked outside and sat down on the porch swing.

Mai shrugged.

"I'm still wearing it cause it's comfy," She stated, pouting slightly. She walked over to the window, "Hey, Nessa... I want to do something... with everyone... as a last ditch thing before we go off on our own to University or Collage"

"Yeah it is pretty comfy but don't tell anyone I told you that." Nessa said. "What do you want to do before we all go away?" she asked as she rocked back and forth looking at the sky.

Mai bit her lip slightly, then went over to the computer and signed onto MSN.

"Road Trip to Disney Land?" She asked hopefully.

Nicole folded her gown and placed the cap ontop of it. She smiled as she placed it on her top shelf, where it would remain as a rememberance of the day. Already having changed into her PJs she flopped down on her bed, sighing quietly. She flipped through her camera, looking at the pictures her mom had taken at the graduation. Looking at all the goofy pictures she had taken with her friends, Nicole smiled and laughed. Then she stopped suddenly at a picture of her stepfather. He stood there, smiling with his hand on Nicole's shoulder, looking proud like any parent should. But Nicole knew better, this man was a killer, he was a horrible person who has caused her so much pain. She threw her camera down on the bed and took a deep breath. She had told herself time and time again not to cry, and not to runaway, but right now she felt so much like running away. Of course, it was summer.. maybe running away wasn't the answer.. maybe there was another way to get away from her stepfather. She hadn't put much though as to what she would do over the summer, but her relatives had flooded her with checks after graduation and Nicole was sure her mom wouldn't mind if she spent some of the money on a trip.

"Um..yes! I say let's go!" Janessa said jumping up now. "That'll be fun for all of us." she said smiling. Janessa's mom stepped outside. "Janessa sweetie come inside dinners ready." she said. Janessa sighed. "Mom's making me get off to eat dinner. I'll talk to you on msn okay?" she said and waited for Mai's answer before hanging up.

Mai nodded, about to scream with excitement.

"Yes! ok, talk to you later!" She said happily. As soon as the conversation was over, she saw that Roger was on Msn. She double clicked on his name and sent him a message.

Janessa smiled and went inside. "Can I please take this off?" she said. "I guess. Your foods ready." her mom said. Janessa took her plate and went to her room. She took her gown and cap off and folded them up and sat them on her dresser. She then grabbed her plate of food and went to the bathroom and began tearing the food up into little pieces and putting it in the toilet. She saved the lettuce though. Flushing the toilet she took the empty plate back to her room and sat it on her bed.

She chewed on a piece of lettuce and opened her laptop and turned it on and waited for it to load.

Ramiel stuck his head out of the door and heard the screeching laugh of his relatives down the hallway. His cap and gown had been disposed of after the ceremony had finished and Ramiel hated being in this house. "I must escape." he whispered to himself. He made a dash for the door, hoping no one would see, and got struck with the night's air. He gasped as he saw something infront of him, known only to his eyes. "Oh, it's just you. You scared me." he sighed to the air in front of him. Any passerby would guess he was just talking on a phone or perhaps he was crazy. Maybe they were right.
Ramiel whipped out his phone, getting on msn to see who needed some company.

Upon seeing Ramiel sign on msn, she opened up another window

Suddenly wondering what plans her friends had for summer vacation, Nicole grabbed her laptop from her desk and plopped down on her bean bag chair with it. She signed onto MSN and found Roger, Mai and Nessa already online. She clicked on Mai and messaged her.

Mai smiled when someone finally talked to her. It was Nicole, one of her good friends.

His laptop was already on but he was signed in as Offline as he saw who was on he flicked it Online without care if someone messaged him. Persisting to do nothing he flicked the TV off and started browsing around Youtube in his spare time. Finding nothing of interest he only sighed as he exited off the window and just left his laptop on his lap and sat his head back and winced at his back.

Janessa finished her piece of lettuce when she heard a loud thump. She looked up and saw her cat lying on the floor. "Snowball..you silly goose." she said. She clicked on Mai's name.

Nicole was slightly shocked. She was about to ask Mai about her summer plans. Sometimes, it was like she could read her mind or something.

He smiled as his fingers swept across the buttons, his friend mesmerised by the light. He wondered when the time would come when he could tell people about his friend, and wether or not they'd believe him. He walked the dark streets before messaging Mai again.
