She nodded, unable to speak for the moment because her mouth was once again full of steak (when did she get so damn hungry?), and even after she swallowed was silent for a moment or so more. She couldn’t tell from here if the man was human or vampire, and with a mildly uncomfortable tingling sensation in her stomach she realized she didn’t particularly want to know. If he was, then he might have recognized her as a hunter (after all, he wouldn’t be aware of her new status), and she knew grudges could be difficult things to forget. On top of that, although she didn’t doubt Vincent’s fighting ability in the slightest, she only knew how he had fared against herself, a small, unsuspecting, unarmed human female. Against another full-grown vampire, she had no experience with how he would do. She didn’t even have the other hunters to run to, now.

“Yeah, I guess you’re right. Let’s just hurry up and eat then, so we can go.” She felt suddenly paranoid, and a barely audible tremor had entered her voice, though she kept it pretty well under control.

((OOC: Sorry for taking so long; I’ve been in the middle of another move and in between jobs, so I haven’t had any time to spare ;_; ))

Well, whatever. I'm not going to have people come and attack Kira, because that sort of thing would have to happen in your past, so I was planning on having you deal with that. In other news, check this out. I've DC'd it up quite a bit---there's not much left of your original writing, and I got rid of any mentions of Kira's name, because I'm attempting to assimilate it, and my literary body is rejecting it because of its foreign qualities. You don't mind, do you?

"Next time you see Sheffie..." he began, then he caught sight of the characteristic blonde curls. "Oh, Sheffie?" he called, through the almost-empty restaurant to the waitress on the lower floor, "The check, if you have a moment, please?"
She looked up at him and rolled her eyes. Vincent turned back to Kira.
"She can do that because I'm a regular."
Vincent put the last piece of his steak in his mouth. Upon swallowing, he said to Kira, "It'll be a strange experience, switching sides so rapidly like this. Although, your background as a hunter will undoubtedly help you in avoiding them in the future."

Although Vincent was somewhat worried about Kira, he didn't think this shift was too much for her to handle. Or, perhaps, he allowed himself to believe that, knowing that if she couldn't, she couldn't really do anything about it that would bother Vincent. At worst, she would have to live with him and depend on him for longer than he expected.
